Welfare Guidelines
As part of our duty of care under the law that requires us to ensure the health, safety & welfare at work of
our employees requires that we comply with the general scope of the Working Time Regulations 1998.
As such the following points need to be considered when estimating/quoting for Commissioning/Servicing
resource to clients.
Any requirements beyond 14 day duration will need consideration of Working Time regulations
and will therefore require a rest day to be included for every continual 7 day period.
Maximum number of weeks for Engineers to be away working without a break/return to home/UK
is 4 weeks.
The Working Time Regulations stipulate that workers are entitled to a rest period of at least 11
consecutive hours in each 24 hour period. For requirements to undertake in excess of these
hours especially for 24hr working, then please contact Mike Pegler Head Site Services for
guidance on compensatory rest and other measures to give appropriate protection for health,
safety and welfare of our Engineers.
NB;- If there are requirements outside of the above or further clarity on these matters please contact
Mike Pegler Head Site Services for further clarification.
