WORK EXPERIENCE

TSUSHO CAPITAL (K) LIMITED(In-house financing company for Toyota Tsusho Corporation)

SENIOR COLLECTOR

Promptly follow up and recover all loans due for payment.

Preparation of CRB listing data and update of client information.

Ensure all demand letters for delinquent loans in the company portfolio are issued and served
promptly in accordance with credit policies and procedures.

Monitor debt collection response cycles and contacts as well as credit control performance

Ensure all recovery activities and follow up are properly documented and filed in customers'
credit files.

Maintain a proper diary, for all the scheduled debt recovery activities i.e. demand notice expiry,
advertisement notice expiry, auction date, etc. to be shared with credit team and management on
weekly basis.

Monitor and record activity levels, success rates, determine optimum threshold rates and levels,
match resources, and deal with peaks and valleys for cost efficiencies.
Conduct client visits (on a need basis) and telephone calls to follow up on payments.
Project relevant trends that affect the collectibles of the portfolio and isolate potential problem
areas.
Ensure one day arrears management for all disbursed loans is fully executed.
Ensure a record is maintained with track of all the recovery progress for all loans in arrears.
Ensure reports are prepared and recommendations made on bad debts to be written-off to the
management for approval.
Mentoring newly recruited collectors.
Follow up with the legal team cases that need legal advise.

Reduced delinquency from 52% to 5% in one year


Introduced a tool for strategic follow up on a daily basis.

i Customer Acquisition, Expansion & Management

Spearhead business expansion by acquiring new customer through sales.

Oversee JCCL functioning with respect to operations, systems and processes.


Responsible for procurement and other logistics;

Maintain day to day reports on loans disbursement and repayments.


Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored, including credit control.
Support and supervisor accountants and credit officers in the provision of information for the
estimates.
Ensure that loan processed adhere to stipulated guidelines
Verify loan applications.
Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.

Assesses key risk areas, and designs, implements, and trains staff on appropriate systems to
ensure strong internal controls
Facilitates external audit relationship and application of auditor recommendations
responsiveness to internal control requirements.

KEY RESULTS

Set up Credit assessment for loan appraisals.


Developed ageing book of defaulters that categorized delinquency in terms of period, amount
disbursed and employment status. This gave the team the scope of operation for existing
customers and new customers to be recruited.
Was part of the team that set up new credit policy that safeguarded the company against losses
and provided roadmap for all loan application and controls
Introduced tools that improved payment frequency of the customers at the same time reduced
risk exposure.
Increased customer acquisition to above 1500 customers in six months.
Established internal controls that minimized fraud .

marketing and prudent lending and collections of Kshs 30 million and reduction of PAR from 78%
to 8% in only six months.
Championed the use of point of sale devises at the branch level.
Champion of deposits growth and SME at the branch level.
Established M.O.U agreements with PEFA churches of Kenya and FULL GOSPEL churches in
Kiambu County.
