 Ava Gardner (17)
Within our film Edge our main protagonist Ava Gardner is a 17 year old
teenager. She is shown to be depressed, insecure and secluded due to
bullying. This will be show through her body language and the low key
lighting of the scenes which are set indoors. Also this will be implied
through the Mise-en-scene, as the costume Ava will be wearing is full
black, giving the connotations of sadness and the feeling of
helplessness. Also black could be associated with funerals
foreshadowing Avas fate in the short film. Therefore she goes against
the stereotype that young teenage females are happy and lively people.
However during the opening sequence of our short film she is shown to
conform to these stereotypes as she is lively and confident in the
beginning.
Rhian Castelaw (17)
Rhian Castelaw the main antagonist of our short film, he is an 17 year
old male teenager. He is show to be loud, obnoxious and rude
teenager. Rhian is shown to have no regard for someone else's
feeling shown through the dialogue, where Rhian insults Avas
appearance and lowers her self esteem. Rhian is shown to be a
stereotypical teenage male, as he has no regards for others feeling
and is loud and confident. Rhian is presented as a very dominant
and aggressive character. A stereotypical view of the teenage male
gender.
