This incident report is with regards to the affair that occurred last March 27, 2017,
in celebration of the Saint Louis Intramurals, most specifically the activity on Basketball
for women.
That on March 27, 2017 at about 8:35 in the evening, while in the course of the
game, I, Noreen J Lagmay, and Michelle Alvaro, both currently enrolled as First Year
Bachelor of laws student, at Saint Louis University, accidentally bumped each other
causing injury to both students which produces bruise on Michelles left eyebrow, that
required immediate medical attention for her open wounds which further necessitate for
her to be brought at the emergency for her open wounds. On my part however, I
accumulated a lump after a severe bump on Michelles face in which due to the said
impact rendered me incapable to stand without the aid of others, and so I was required
to be seated on our designated bench and an ice pack was placed on my head to
prevent the lump from increasing in its size. This incident left us with no choice but to
temporarily stop the game, however, the officers in charged with the game demanded
our answer whether to proceed with the game or to forfeit the game. Our colleagues,
despite of having four members left came up with the decision to proceed and finished
the game, I however still insisted to aid my teammates to finished the game.
After the game was finished, I was ordered to proceed immediately at the
Emergency Room in order to check the severity of my condition. I was required by the
attending physician to have my head x-rayed, from the upper head down to my jaw for
them to verify if there are any internal injuries. We were required to wait for the result
and prescriptions for almost 40 minutes, thus, when the results was ready, the attending
Physician assured to me that there was no internal injury. I however asked the attending
Physician how am I still feeling dizzy and still in pain, and she demanded to my friend to
buy a certain prescribed medicine in order to relieve the pain which was then injected to
me. After having been rest assured that I was in a good condition, I was permitted to
leave the Emergency Room.
However, the next day, due to the said incident, I experienced a severe head and
body pain which rendered me incapable of attending my class from 5:30- 8:30 in the
evening of March 28, 2017. Thus I was required to furnish this incident report in order to
obtain Student Insurance.
