In our current design we are given a sea resort to design, in the beginning I had placed a few
qualities sub-consciously to lead me through the design. And these are the resulting qualities
within my design:-

1. I have tried to create the Sense of purity, because it gives you the feeling of simplicity
of life and makes you calmer. When you leave your busy life to the resort you will be
in an environment of simple buildings that help you focus on the natural surroundings
which will take you away from stresses of life. I have avoided ornamentation and
magnificent shapes only sticking with basic shapes to avoid having buildings
overpower the natural surroundings, hence bringing the people close to their natural
creation.
2. Another quality is sense of curiosity, it is developed through a wall that works as a
barrier from the street to the resort. The wall blocks what the person on the street
side sees, only providing a few glimpses through the openings of the perforated wall.
Which makes people curious of whats on the other side.
3. This quality is sense of calmness which is created in the separated spa complex (spa
and caf) where it faces the sunset, so they can have a massage or drink coffee facing
the sea and the beautiful calming sunset.
4. Feeling of earthiness is made in the reception, a restaurant and the walkways, it is
created through the element of plantations, in the shading devices, vertical garden,
and plantation in the horizontal plane, so when they walk under the shading device
surrounded by the plantations the would feel as they are in a forest.
5. Quality of social space is applied in a huge space that is in the middle of the resort,
and also right after the entrance, the space is open with seatings, greenery and
attractive features for kids to play ( ribbon chandelier, sand pit, etc)
6. Sense of Isolation and peacefulness, which is in the area in front of the
accommodations which are facing the sea where a stream runs in a semi-private
space. People can sit there isolated from the public beach by the stream while
enjoying the peacefulness of the water sounds.
7. Sense of freedom is created through the volleyball court which 3m above the ground
in open air.
8. Sense of awe is created in the aquarium restaurant where you can come and dine
looking at the magnificent creatures of the sea surrounding the whole dining area.
