REMEMBER THE SEVENTH-DAY

SABBATH...
INTRODUCTION
By the grace of God and the power of His Holy Spirit, we bring His message to those
who are seeking the truth on this Biblical doctrine with all their heart. The purpose
of this vital message is to shed God's light on a very controversial Bible doctrine
that pertains to the true holy worship day of rest for God's people versus that of
Sunday worship. (HEBREWS 4:9-12).

THE SABBATH OF THE OLD TESTAMENT

There are many Christians who claim that the Old Testament was strictly for the
Jews, and of course, they also make the claim that the true Seventh-day Bible
Sabbath of rest was instituted for the Jews only. However, the Holy Bible never
substantiates this teaching or belief in any way, as the Holy written Word of God will
prove. Let us establish first the meaning of the word SABBATH. In the Hebrew it is
called SHABBATH and in the Greek, SABBATON, which simply means to rest; cease;
or desist from all work. It is a weekly day of rest and worship as commanded by
God, in which we are to cease from all our work. It is very special day that our God
and Creator instituted for Himself and mankind to enjoy spiritually together, in
fellowship.

Through spiritual and careful study of the Holy Scriptures, we find that the Seventh-
day Sabbath, or rest, was not strictly for the Jews at all, because the first Jews were
Abraham and his descendants. In fact, the day of God's rest began long before
Abraham. We will have to go all the way back to the beginning of creation. The
Seventh-day Sabbath had its origin in the Garden of Eden at the end of
creation. GENESIS 2: 1-2 (1) “THUS THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WERE FINISHED,
AND ALL THE HOST OF THEM. (2) AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY GOD ENDED HIS
WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE: AND HE RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS
WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE. (3) AND GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND
SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE THAT IN IT HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH
GOD CREATED AND MADE."

However, on the sixth day, God had completed His crowning act of creation when
He created man in His own image, GENESIS 1: 26-28). Thus, Adam's first full day on
this earth was spent with Jesus Christ, the Creator, (JOHN 1: 1-3, 10, 14:
COLOSSIANS 1: 14, 16-17 and HEBREWS 1: 1-3).

Therefore, because it was the seventh day of the creation week (God's Sabbath of
rest), Adam and Eve, along with their families, worshipped God from one Sabbath to
another all down through their generations, even unto this very day.

Through continued study, we had found that God's Commandments were very much
in existence prior to the two tables of stone that were handed down to Moses on
Mount Sinai because Abraham, who lived long before Moses, kept the
commandments. GENESIS 26: 5 "BECAUSE THAT ABRAHAM OBEYED MY VOICE,
AND KEPT MY CHARGE, MY COMMANDMENTS, MY STATUTES, AND MY LAWS."
We are going to see that God's holy law, or Ten Commandments, were always in
existence from the time of creation. God had verbally spoken His law in the very
beginning (GENESIS 6: 5). He wrote them on two tables of stone with His own finger
and gave them to Moses on Mount Sinai, (EXODUS 20: 1-20 and EXODUS 31: 13-18),
The first writing of God's holy law was written on two tables of stone and was put
inside the Ark of the Covenant which, to the best of our knowledge, is no longer in
existence; (DEUTERONOMY 10: 1-5). The second writing of God's holy law was
written in the hearts and minds of all humanity, to last forever. This is the
difference between the Old and New Covenants, (HEBREWS 8: 10)

The writing of the Ten Commandment moral law was the only thing that god
reserved unto Himself to write with His own hand or finger, signifying its great
importance to Himself and to all of His human creation. EXODUS 31: 18 "AND HE
GAVE UNTO MOSES WHEN HE HAD MADE AN END OF COMMUNING WITH HIM UPON
MOUNT SINAI, TWO TABLES OF TESTIMONY, TABLES OF STONE, WRITTEN WITH THE
FINGER OF GOD." God refers to His obedient followers as His "peculiar treasure, or
people", EXODUS 19: 5; DEUTERONOMY 7: 6-7; DEUTERONOMY 14: 2; PSALM 135: 4
and in the New Testament, TITUS 2: 14 and I PETER 2:9). What makes them His
peculiar treasures (or people) is that they strive to keep all of His commandments in
love. Before we can establish the validity and holiness of God's Seventh-day
Sabbath, we need to examine, by the power of God's Holy Spirit, all scripture that
pertains to the Holy Bible Sabbath day. Seeing that this Seventh-day (Saturday)
Sabbath of rest and worship is the fourth commandment of God; perhaps our
looking into God's Ten Commandment Law would be the most appropriate place to
begin. Let us start by asking ourselves the questions: Is the Ten Commandment
Law of God important to man and this world? Is God's holy law still binding on all of
humanity and His faithful followers today? We need only to let God answer these
important questions for us. First, consider what happens when there is no law.
Without the law you have lawlessness and nothing to govern or control evil or
wrong doing. We have the law of God to show us where we are going wrong,
whereby, committing sin. To the Christian in this world, God's holy law IS SUPREME.
There is no higher law anywhere, whether in this world or outside of this world.
How can we know that the Ten Commandment Law is of God? Because it is
perfect, and it is neither partial nor prejudicial. There are no special interest
loopholes or infringements in God's law, and neither is there any way to escape it,
EXODUS 34: 6-7).This Ten-Commandment Law governs all of humanity and the
universes. If the people in the
world would keep these Ten commandments, we would have no need for police,
courts, jails, prisons, or the military forces. In fact, we would be in heaven. Perfect
peace and harmony of all things, happiness beyond our wildest expectations; this is
what heaven is going to be like. Heaven is the result of keeping God's holy law of
love. (REVELATION 14: 12). Since the Bible tells us that "GOD IS LOVE" (I JOHN
4:8), we may be assured that the law reflects His character; thus, we call it the law
of love. Is the law still binding? Should we keep the Ten-Commandment Law? This
is what Jesus says: (JOHN 14: 21) "HE THAT HATH MY COMMANDMENTS, AND
KEEPETH THEM, HE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME: AND HE THAT LOVETH ME SHALL BE
LOVED OF MY FATHER, AND I WILL LOVE HIM, AND WILL MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM."
JOHN 15: 10 "IF YE KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE; EVEN
AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHERS COMMANDMENTS AND ABIDE IN HIS LOVE." JOHN 14:
15 "IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS." ROMANS 13:10 "LOVE WORKETH
NO ILL TO HIS NEIGHBOR: THEREFORE LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW."

Can we keep the Ten Commandment Law of God? A question that comes to mind
is: Why would a God of love command us so many times to do something (His Law)
if it were impossible, or even unreasonable? The answer is simple: He wouldn't.
Jesus kept all of the commandments in love, and He said, "Come and follow me",
(MATTHEW 16-24) In PHILIPPIANS 4: 13) God says, I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH
CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENETH ME."

It is only through, nd in, Christ that we can accomplish this. I JOHN 5: 3 "FOR THIS
IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, AND HIS
COMMANDMENTS ARE
NOT GRIEVOUS.

"Notice how often the words love, law, and commandments are utilized together.
Love and god's holy law is inseparable. I JOHN 2: 3-4 (3) "AND HEREBY WE DO
KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. (4) HE THAT SAITH,
I KNOW HIM, AND KEEPETH NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS, IS A LIAR AND THE TRUTH IS
NOT IN HIM."

How important is it to know God and His Commandments? Our eternal life depends
upon it, because to know God is life eternal. JOHN 17:3 "AND THIS IS LIFE
ETERNAL, THAT THEY MIGHT KNOW THEE THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST
WHOM THOU HAST SENT."

To know God is to love Him, to love Him is to keep His commandments. (ROMANS
13:
8-10; ROMANS 2: 13; DEUTERONOMY 7: 9; PSALM 40: 8; I JOHN 2: 1-6; LUKE 10: 25-
28; PROVERBS 28: 9; REVELATION 12: 17; REVELATION 14: 12; REVELATION 22: 14;
I CORINTHIANS 7: 19; PSALM 119: 2,34-35,44,47-48, 60; I JOHN 3: 24; PSALM 111:
10).

Is the Law important to God and His children? ROMANS 2: 12-13 (12) FOR AS MANY
AS HAVE SINNED WITHOUT LAW SHALL ALSO PERISH WITHOUT LAW: AND AS MANY
AS HAVE SINNED IN THE LAW SHALL BE JUDGED BY THE LAW; (13) FOR NOT THE
HEARERS OF THE LAW ARE JUST BEFORE GOD, BUT THE DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL
BE JUSTIFIED,"

According to God, ignorance of His law is not an acceptable excuse, and the end
result is the eternal death. Those who are followers of God and His Christ are going
to be judged by the law in accordance with their relationship to it, whether obedient
or disobedient. PROVERBS 3: 1 "MY SON, FORGET NOT MY LAW; BUT LET THINE
HEART KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS."

What relationship does God place between mankind and His commandments?
ECCLESIASTES 12: 13 "LET US HEAR THE CONCLUSION OF THE WHOLE MATTER:
FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF
MAN." We must note here how God said that it is "the whole duty of man"
(humanity) (and not just the Jews or the Hebrews) to keep His commandments, In
the following text, God tells us of the prophecy of Jesus Christ and the importance of
the law to His only begotten Son in ISAIAH 42: 21 "THE LORD IS WELL PLEASED FOR
HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE; HE WILL MAGNIFY THE LAW, AND MAKE IT
HONOURABLE." Jesus Christ was to come and magnify the law, or to make it
clearer, and to make it honorable through His loving obedience to it.

Our eternal life is on a parallel with the keeping of the commandments of God.
MATTHEW 19: 1"...BUT IF THOU WILL ENTER INTO LIFE, KEEP THE
COMMANDMENTS." IMPORTANT: We keep the commandments of God, NOT TO BE
SAVED, but BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED. We keep them because we love God. The
keeping of the law or commandments, strictly, can not justify or save anyone,
(GALATIANS 2: 16; ROMANS 1: 17; ROMANS 3: 20-23; TITUS 3: 5). Yet, without the
keeping of God's holy law, we can not enter into heaven. Is God contradicting
Himself here? No, indeed! It is all in the matter of "rightly dividing (understanding)
the Word of God in truth", (II TIMOTHY 2: 15) What God looks at is our heart and the
reason as to why we obey Him and keep His commandments. He is concerned
about what it is that motivates us. Do we do these things because we are afraid of
Him and hell's fire? Do we do these things because that is how we have been
brought up, or because we have been taught this all our lives? Or do we, perhaps,
do these things because our parents and grandparents have always done them and
preached them? Do we do them because our ministers say we should?, etc. None
of these are acceptable reasons. We keep the commandments of God because we
know God and the great love and concern that He has for us, and we, in turn, love
him and His holy law of love. We must be motivated by a Godly love, which is a gift
from God. ROMANS 7: 12 "WHEREFORE THE LAW IS HOLY, AND THE
COMMANDMENT HOLY AND JUST, AND GOOD." Another good reason to keep the
commandments of God, wouldn't you say? We keep all of the commandments of
God because WE LOVE GOD, and the Bible text of ROMANS 13: 10 says it so well:
"THEREFORE LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW." If we truly love the Lord, we
will keep His commandments in love, (JOHN 14: 15).

CAN THE LAW OF GOD BE CHANGED?

Has any of the commandments of God been changed, altered, or done away with?
Does anyone have the authority to change, alter, or do away with any of God's
commandments? Let's let Jesus tell us how He feels about the changing of His Ten
Commandment Law, MATTHEW 5: 17-18 (17) "THINK NOT THAT I AM COME TO
DESTROY THE LAW, OR THE PROPHETS: I AM NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO
FULFIL. (18) FOR VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, ONE JOT (DOT) OR ONE TITTLE (T) SHALL
IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED." LUKE 16: 17 "AND IT IS
EASIER FOR HEAVEN AND EARTH TO PASS, THAN ONE TITTLE OF THE LAW TO FAIL."
(I PETER 1: 25). A jot is the equivalent of the dotting of an (i), and a tittle is the
crossing of a (t). Jesus came to magnify the law (make it clearer) and to make it
honorable by fulfilling or keeping it, (ISAIAH 42: 21). He came to "FULFILL", uphold,
to observe or do the law, to comply with, or adhere to the law. Jesus said that it
would be easier for Him to destroy heaven and earth than it would be to alter a
dotting of an (i), or the crossing of a (t) in His holy Ten Commandment Law. To
alter, change, or omit any part of God's holy law would be to defame, alter, or
change God's immutable character of love. If any part of God's law could be
changed, Jesus would have come and died for nought. If the law could be changed,
Jesus would not have had to go to the cross to pay the debt for our sins, which is the
"transgression of God's holy law." I JOHN 3:4, "WHOSOEVER COMMITTETH SIN
TRANSGRESSETH ALSO THE LAW: FOR SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW."
How many commandments does God say we have to break before it is a sin?
JAMES 2: 10 "FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL KEEP THE WHOLE LAW, AND YET OFFEND IN
ONE POINT, HE IS GUILTY OF ALL." When you transgress or break any part of God's
Ten Commandment Law, in His eyes you have broken them all, because "sin is the
transgression of the law." And what does God say the wages (or results) of sin is?
ROMANS 6: 23 "FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS
ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD." (GENESIS 2: 17; ROMANS 5:
12; JAMES 1: 15). Jesus Christ has a reward for those who love Him and keep His
commandments in love (JOHN 14: 15 and REVELATION 22: 12). When John the
Revelator looked out in heaven and saw all of god's Redeemed people, He tells us
who the only people are that are going to make it into heaven, and this is what he
saw and said: REVELATION 14: 12-13 (12) "HERE IS THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS:
HERE ARE THEY THAT KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, AND THE FAITH OF
JESUS. (13) AND I HEARD A VOICE FROM HEAVEN SAYING UNTO ME, WRITE,
BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHICH DIE IN THE LORD FROM HENCEFORTH: YEA, SAITH
THE SPIRIT, THAT THEY MAY REST FROM THEIR LABORS; AND THEIR WORKS DO
FOLLOW THEM." (JAMES 2: 14,17-18,20). Now that we have established, by the holy
written Word of God, that His Ten Commandment Law is, indeed, still binding and
has not been changed, let us go on. DOES IT MATTER WHAT DAY WE WORSHIP GOD
ON?

There are many who believe that it doesn't really matter what day we keep holy
and worship God on; they believe it can be any day that we choose or, for that
matter, even all seven days of the week. We will also cover this again shortly, but I
would like to use a small illustration here that will disprove this erroneous theory (or
doctrine) of men. In EXODUS 20, verse 8 and 10, God commands and tells us this:
(8) "Remember THE Sabbath day to keep it holy..." (10) "But THE SEVENTH DAY is
the Sabbath of the Lord thy God...." When God used the word "the", He meant one
very special or specific day only. The emphasis here in verse 8 is, first of all, to
"REMEMBER:; the second emphasis is on "THE SEVENTH DAY", a special day (not
just any day or days), and the third emphasis is on "KEEP IT HOLY." His command is
very specific, very clear, and very forceful. Example: If there were seven
"different" hammers on the table all in a row, and I was to say to you,
"Please bring me A hammer, meaning any one would do. However, if I were to say
to you: "Bring me THE seventh hammer, I have now asked for a very SPECIFIC
hammer by using the words THE and SEVENTH, meaning not just any hammer will
do. This is what God has done here in His Fourth commandment, showing us that
not just any day, or all seven days, will do; but by being specific in using the word
THE, He has shown that only (THE) SEVENTH DAY is acceptable. In fact, God
mentions "The Seventh Day" four times in His fourth commandment in EXODUS 20:
8-11. How special is God's Sabbath day? GENESIS 2: 3 "AND GOD BLESSED THE
SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT ..." When God blessed His Seventh-day Sabbath,
He made it holy. Only God can make anything holy, and it is made holy because He
is in it. When God sanctified the Seventh-day Sabbath, He was setting it apart from
the other six days of the creation week. This is God's very special day in which He
had rested from all His work at creation, and He wants us to enter into that rest with
Him, (HEBREWS 4: 9-11). There are those who claim every day (all seven days) are
the Lord's, and that we need to give God every day. This can not be considered the

same as His worship day that He sanctified. If we kept all seven days according to
the commandment, this would mean we could never work (which is preposterous),
because God also said: "six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work." Was the
Sabbath made just for the Jews, or was it made for all of God's people? MARK 2: 27
"AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN, AND NOT MAN FOR
THE SABBATH." HEBREWS 4: 9 "THERE REMAINETH THEREFORE A REST TO THE
PEOPLE OF GOD." God makes it very plain and clear that the Seventh-day Sabbath
was made for man, people, or all of humanity, not just for the Jews. Were the Ten
Commandments for the Jews only, or are they for all of mankind? The answer is
simple and obvious. God's Sabbath "day of rest" will remain in force for THE
PEOPLE OF GOD. If you are one of God's faithful people, then the Seventh day
(Saturday) IS YOUR DAY OF REST AND WORSHIP. Once again, God instituted His
Seventh-day Sabbath at the end of His creation in the Garden of Eden, not on Mount
Sinai. When God (Jesus Christ) was living amongst the children of
Israel and was leading them Himself by a pillar of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire
by night (I CORINTHIANS 10: 1-11 and EXODUS 13: 21-22), how important was the
Sabbath to Him
and His people? Paul tells us that whatever happened unto the children of Israel, it
happened and was written so that we could learn from it and avoid the same
mistakes that they had made. With God living amoungst the children of Israel, the
penalty for breaking His sabbath was very serious. EXODUS 35: 2 "SIX DAYS SHALL
WORK BE DONE, BUT ON THE SEVENTH DAY THERE SHALL BE TO YOU AN HOLY
DAY, A SABBATH OF REST TO THE LORD: WHOSOEVER DOETH WORK THEREIN
SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH." (Exodus 31: 13-18; Numbers 15: 31-36). The
punishment for the blatant, disobedient people of God, who deliberately profaned
and broke the Fourth (or Sabbath) commandment of God, was death by stoning.
This was carried on from Adam and Eve until Jesus Christ, or until the New
Covenant (the laws of God written in the hearts and minds of men), (HEBREWS 9: 6-
10). God's holy Sabbath day is not any less important to Him today than it was
back then. God never changes, HEBREWS 13:8 "JESUS CHRIST THE SAME
YESTERDAY, AND TO
DAY, AND FOR EVER." The only difference is that under the old covenant, the
punishment was carried out at the time of transgression, because Jesus Christ was
living amoungst the
people in the power of His Holy spirit, making the people and the place where they
were, holy. However, under the new covenant, the punishment is still the same,
and it will be carried out at the end of the world. The church leaders (or ministers)
of Israel failed to teach and enforce God's holy Sabbath day, NEHEMIAH 13: 17-18
(17) "THEN I CONTENDED WITH THE NOBLES OF JUDAH, AND SAID UNTO THEM,
WHAT EVIL THING IS THIS THAT YE DO, AND PROFANE THE SABBATH DAY? (18) DID
NOT YOUR FATHERS THUS, AND DID NOT OUR GOD BRING ALL THE EVIL UPON US,
AND UPON THIS CITY? YET YE BRING MORE WRATH UPON ISRAEL BY PROFANING
THE SABBATH." God was not, and is not, well pleased When His church fails to
honor and to keep His
commandments, including the fourth. EZEKIEL 20: 16-17 (16) "BECAUSE THEY
DESPISED MY JUDGEMENT, AND WALKED NOT IN MY STATUTES: BUT POLLUTED MY
SABBATHS: FOR THEIR HEART WENT AFTER THEIR IDOLS. (17) NEVERTHELESS
MINE EYE SPARED THEM FROM DESTROYING THEM, NEITHER DID I MAKE AN END OF
THEM IN THE WILDERNESS." EZEKIEL 22: 8,26 (8) "THOU HAST DESPISED MINE
HOLY THINGS, AND HAST PROFANED MY SABBATHS. (26) HER PRIESTS HAVE
VIOLATED MY LAW, AND HAVE PROFANED MINE HOLY THINGS. THEY HAVE PUT NO
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOLY AND PROFANE, NEITHER HAVE THEY SHEWED
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE UNCLEAN AND THE CLEAN, AND HAVE HID THEIR EYES
FROM
MY SABBATHS, AND I AM PROFANED AMONG THEM." The celebrating and the
keeping of God's holy day of worship is of the utmost importance to God and to
those of His church. Let no man deceive you on this, EPHESIANS 5:6 "LET NO MAN
DECEIVE YOU WITH VAIN WORDS; FOR BECAUSE OF THESE THINGS COMETH THE
WRATH IF GOD UPON THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE." THE SABBATH MEMORIAL
AND SIGN. The Seventh day Sabbath of rest and worship is a "MEMORIAL" to God.
The Sabbath is a memorial of God's creation. The Sabbath is to be a weekly
reminder that Almighty God is our Creator, and that there is no other God besides
Him. The Fourth Commandment is God's great SEAL and SIGN of creation. GENESIS
2: 1 "THUS THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WERE FINISHED AND ALL THE HOST OF
THEM." (EXODUS 20: 11; EXODUS 31: 17; ACTS 4:24; REVELATION 14: 7). What is
another purpose for God's Sabbath? EZEKIEL 20: 12,20 (12) "MOREOVER ALSO I
GAVE THEM MY SABBATHS, TO BE A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND THEM THAT THEY
MIGHT KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THAT SANCTIFY THEM. (20) AND HALLOW MY
SABBATHS AND THEY SHALL BE A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND YOU, THAT YE MAY
KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD." EXODUS 31: 13,16-17 (13) "SPEAK THOU
ALSO UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, SAYING, VERILY MY SABBATHS YE SHALL
KEEP: FOR IT IS A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR GENERATIONS:
THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THAT DOTH SANCTIFY YOU. (16)
WHEREFORE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SHALL KEEP THE SABBATH, TO OBSERVE
THE SABBATH THROUGHOUT THEIR GENERATIONS FOR A PERPETUAL COVENANT.
(17) IT IS A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL FOREVER: FOR IN SIX
DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY HE
RESTED, AND WAS REFRESHED." (PSALM 135: 13 and PSALM 111:4).

The Sabbath is a SIGN between God and His church forever. It is a very special and
specific day (Saturday, the Seventh day); it is sanctified (set aside or apart) for His
people to come
and worship Him in the presence of the world. God does not want His people to
forget the fact that he is our God and "CREATOR." If the world would have accepted
and obeyed
His fourth commandment, there could never have been the theory of evolution. The
sign of God's Sabbath will last FOREVER; it is a PERPETUAL COVENANT. Does this
sound like God is going to change His Sabbath (or seventh day of worship) to
Sunday, the "first day" of the creation week? Consider this: What would we
recognize as God the Creator if we celebrated the first day of the week? Neither
Adam and Eve nor any form of life had been created, as yet. Who would rest or
worship Him as God and Creator? The entire concept is ridiculous. GENESIS 1: 3,5
(3) "AND GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT: AND THERE WAS LIGHT. (5) AND GOD
CALLED THE LIGHT DAY, AND THE DARKNESS HE CALLED NIGHT, AND THE EVENING
AND THE MORNING WERE THE FIRST DAY." All that was created on the first day was
light. Please look at your calendar if you are not certain which day is the first day of
the week. If God is the author of the Seventh-day Sabbath, who then is the author
of the first day (or Sunday) worship? The answer to this question is simple; he is
none other than that great deceiver and liar Satan himself, the author of Sunday
worship, an absurd day in pointing to creation, (REVELATION 14: 6-7). IS SATURDAY
THE SEVENTH DAY?

There are many who ask the question, "How do we know that the Seventh day is
Saturday"? An excellent question, which we will answer by the Holy Word of God.
When God began the weekly cycle, he called the days by NUMBERS instead of by
names. Why was that? Because you can change names, but you can never change
the number sequence, such as one through seven, consecutively. One, or first, will
always be first, two will always be two, and so will the seventh number always be
the seventh or last number. The numbers or God's days were according to His work
in creation. The world was created in six literal, twenty-four hour days (JOHN 11:9)
and THE SEVENTH DAY WAS THE DAY OF REST, THUS, THE Sabbath had begun. The
Seventh day is also THE LAST DAY
OF THE WEEK. God has given us a way to tell time and to tell days by the stars with
exact pinpoint accuracy over centuries of time; astronomers have proven this to be
true. GENESIS 1: 14 "AND GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHTS IN THE FIRMAMENT OF
THE HEAVEN TO DIVIDE THE DAY FROM THE NIGHT; AND LET THEM BE FOR SIGNS,
AND FOR SEASONS, AND FOR DAYS, AND YEARS." Jesus (the Creator) spoke of
TWELVE HOURS IN THE DAY, or the light part of the day, which means there are also
TWELVE HOURS IN THE NIGHT, OR THE DARK PART OF THE TWENTY
FOUR HOUR DAY. JOHN 11: 9-10 (9) "ARE THERE NOT TWELVE HOURS IN THE DAY?
IF ANY MAN WALK IN THE DAY, HE STUMBLETH NOT, BECAUSE HE SEETH THE LIGHT
OF THIS WORLD. (10) BUT IF A MAN WALK IN THE NIGHT, HE STUMBLETH,
BECAUSE THERE IS NOT LIGHT IN HIM." The name of the days (which were given by
man) are pagan. They were named after the planets, as follows:

NAMES GOD GAVE LATIN NAMES

FIRST DAY (GEN. 1:5) DIES SOLIS

Many Christians ask the question: How do we know that Saturday is the seventh or
last day of the week? The best way to answer that is by the Holy Bible, and we
must also ask the
questions: (1) On what day does most of Christianity say that Jesus died? The
answer is "Good Friday." (2) The next question is: On what day did Jesus resurrect?
The answer is:
The first day of the week (Sunday), in perfect harmony with our calendar. (3) Our
last question is: What day is between Friday and Sunday? The answer is
SATURDAY, the day that Jesus rested in the tomb (the seventh or last day of the
week). Even the women who were going to anoint the body of Jesus "RESTED THE
SABBATH DAY ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT." (LUKE 23: 52,54-56 and LUKE
24: 1-2). We can also prove this by the fact that the Jewish religionists have always
worshipped God on Saturday, ever since Abraham; they still do it to this very day.
Even Jesus Himself kept, and worshipped, on the Saturday Sabbath, as we will see
shortly. Another question that we must ask ourselves is: Would God command us to
"REMEMBER" the Seventh-day Sabbath under the penalty of sin and the second (or
eternal) death by hell's fire, and then let us lose or mistake the day that He "blessed
and sanctified to keep holy?" I don't believe so.

It does not matter what names you give the days of the week. You can call them
anything you wish, but you can never change the fact that there are only SEVEN
DAYS in a week. You will always have a first day and a last day (seventh day). This
has never been changed or altered by God, neither can it be. However, in the Book
of Daniel, God said that there would be a power to come who will "THINK TO
CHANGE HIS TIMES AND LAWS." (DANIEL 7: 20-21,23-25). The change from God's
holy worship day to Sunday is of no surprise to the faithful children of God who are
seeking the truth with all their heart on this vital Biblical doctrine.

KEEPING THE SABBATH

How does God say that we should keep His holy Sabbath worship day?

(1) We are to keep it holy: EXODUS 20: 8 "REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP
IT HOLY."

(2) We are not to do any work on the Sabbath, nor anyone staying or visiting in our
home: EXODUS 31:15 "SIX DAYS MAY WORK BE DONE; BUT IN THE SEVENTH IS THE
SABBATH OF REST, HOLY TO THE LORD..."LEVITICUS 23:3). EXODUS 20:10 “BUT
THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD: IN IT THOU (you)
SHALT NOT DO ANY WORK, THOU, NOR THY SON, NOR THY DAUGHTER, THY
MANSERVANT, NOR THY MAIDSERVANT, NOR THY CATTLE, NOR THY STRANGER
THAT IS WITHIN THY GATES:" No one staying in your home is to do any work, not
even the hired help or tradesmen. This also includes yard work or maintenance
around-or in-the home.

(3) We must not shop for groceries or buy anything on the Sabbath: NEHEMIAH
10:31 "AND IF THE PEOPLE OF THE LAND BRING WARE (hardware and softwares) OR
ANY VICTUALS (food or groceries) ON THE SABBATH DAY TO SELL, THAT WE
WOULD NOT BUY IT OF THEM ON THE SABBATH, OR ON THE HOLYDAY:...."
NEHEMIAH 13: 15-22; EXODUS 16: 22-30. (Remarks in parenthesis supplied).

(4) We must not do our own good pleasure on the Sabbath or participate in any kind
of materialistic business: ISAIAH 58:13 "IF THOU (you) TURN AWAY THY FOOT FROM
THE SABBATH, FROM DOING THY PLEASURE ON MY HOLY DAY: AND CALL THE
SABBATH A DELIGHT, THE HOLY OF THE LORD, HONORABLE; AND SHALT HONOR
HIM, NOT DOING THINE OWN WAYS, NOR FINDING THINE OWN PLEASURE, NOR
SPEAKING THINE OWN WORDS:" The reason most of Christianity today can not see
god's holy Seventh-Day Sabbath is because they are TOO BUSY WALKING ALL OVER
IT. Doing your own good pleasure includes eating out in restaurants, playing or
attending sports events, going to the movies, watching television, or listening to
non-Christian music. Attending worldly functions or entertainment is considered
doing your own good pleasure.

Speaking your own words is talking about business or any conversation that is not
appropriate or befitting of God's holy day, etc. God has given us six days to indulge
in all of these things, but the Sabbath is a very special and wonderful day, in which
we can come apart from the rest of the world and spend it with God, family, and
fellow Christians. It truly is a wonderful delight.

(5) We must go to church and worship God on the Sabbath: LUKE 4: 16 "AND HE
(JESUS) CAME TO NAZARETH, WHERE HE HAD BEEN BROUGHT UP: AND, AS HIS
CUSTOM WAS, HE WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE (CHURCH) ON THE SABBATH DAY,
AND STOOD UP FOR TO READ." It was Jesus' custom to worship and assemble
Himself with God's worshippers on His holy day. HEBREWS 10:25 "NOT FORSAKING
THE ASSEMBLING OF OURSELVES TOGETHER, AS THE MANNER OF SOME IS, BUT
EXHORTING ONE ANOTHER: AND SO MUCH THE MORE, AS YE SEE THE DAY
APPROACHING." (ACTS 17: 2; ACTS 18: 4,11; ACTS 13: 13-16,42-44). "That day
approaching" mentioned here is the end of the world.

(6) We should pray with others on the Sabbath: ACTS 16: 13 "AND ON THE
SABBATH WE WENT OUT OF THE CITY BY A RIVER SIDE, WHERE PRAYER WAS WONT
(wanted or desired) TO BE MADE AND WE SAT DOWN AND SPAKE UNTO THE
WOMEN WHICH RESORTED THITHER (there)."
(7) The Sabbath is a wonderful day to preach and to teach the holy written word of
God: MARK 1: 21 “AND THEY WENT INTO CAPERNAUM: AND STRAIGHTWAY ON THE
SABBATH DAY HE ENTERED INTO THE SYNAGOGUE, AND TAUGHT." LUKE 4: 31
“AND (JESUS) CAME DOWN TO CAPERNAUM, A CITY OF GALILEE, AND TAUGHT THEM
ON THE SABBATH DAYS."

(8) We should do good on the Sabbath: LUKE 6: 6-10

(9) "THEN SAID JESUS UNTO THEM, I WILL ASK YOU ONE THING; IS IT LAWFUL ON
THE SABBATH DAYS TO DO GOOD, OR TO DO EVIL? TO SAVE LIFE OR TO DESTROY
IT?

God's counsel as to how His holy sabbath day is to be kept is very plain and clear.
We are to keep it holy by keeping our hearts and minds on Him, by entering into
His rest and
worshipping Him in Spirit and in truth in church with other fellow Christian believers
on the only day that God sanctified. We are not to do any work, or to make any
money, or to do any monetary business transactions for purchase or gain. When
Jesus said, "IS IT LAWFUL TO DO GOOD", He meant that there is nothing wrong with
helping someone else, but not for monetary gain. We are not to work for someone
when it is not of an emergency or life-saving nature. In other words, if someone
was in dire need of financial assistance, it would not be wrong to give them money
or to buy them what they needed such as food; medicine; necessary clothing; or
emergency transportation. If someone is sick, and you want to clean their house or
do their dishes, there would be nothing wrong with that, provided you accept no
payment in return. Another example: If you saw a woman stranded on the side of
the road because she had a flat tire, and you stopped and changed it for her,
neither would this be wrong. However, you would not help a friend or anyone who
might be painting their house or working on their car, etc., When there is no
emergency involved; this would not be acceptable. Going shopping or going into
the stores on the Sabbath is not acceptable to God. However, if someone is sick, it
would not be wrong to purchase the necessary medicine or medical supplies, or to
visit a doctor or clinic. We are to use good spiritual judgement. We can put on
Christian programs for the invalids in nursing homes, etc. When we do good by
helping others on the Sabbath, it not only pleases God, but we also receive a truly
wonderful blessing. It really is a delight.

JESUS AND PAUL SET THE EXAMPLE

What day did Jesus worship on and keep holy? MARK 1: 21-22 (21) "AND THEY
WENT INTO CAPERNAUM; AND STRAIGHTWAY ON THE SABBATH DAY HE ENTERED
INTO THE SYNAGOGUE AND TAUGHT. (22) AND THEY WERE ASTONISHED AT HIS
DOCTRINE: FOR HE TAUGHT THEM AS ONE THAT HAD AUTHORITY, AND NOT AS
THE SCRIBES," LUKE 4: 14-16 (14) "AND JESUS RETURNED IN THE POWER OF THE
SPIRIT UNTO GALILEE: AND THERE WENT OUT A FAME OF HIM THROUGH ALL THE
REGION ROUND ABOUT. (15) AND HE TAUGHT IN THEIR SYNAGOGUES, BEING
GLORIFIED OF ALL. (16) AND HE CAME TO NAZARETH, WHERE HE HAD BEEN
BROUGHT UP: AND AS HIS CUSTOM WAS, HE WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE ON THE
SABBATH DAY, AND STOOD UP FOR TO READ: (MARK 6: 1-2; LUKE 6: 5-6). The
apostle Paul also worshipped on the Sabbath day according to the commandment.
The question that comes to mind is: Why would he do this if he had changed the
day of worship? The answer is simple;
because he never did. ACTS 17:2 "AND PAUL, AS HIS MANNER WAS, WENT IN
UNTO THEM, AND THREE SABBATH DAYS REASONED WITH THEM OUT OF THE
SCRIPTURES." ACTS 18: 4,11 (4) "AND HE REASONED IN THE SYNAGOGUE EVERY
SABBATH, AND PERSUADED THE JEWS AND THE GREEKS. (11) AND HE CONTINUED
THERE A YEAR AND SIX MONTHS, TEACHING THE WORD OF GOD AMONG THEM."
(ACTS 13: 14-16,42-44; ACTS 15: 21-22). Jesus Christ, the Apostles, Paul, and all of
the early Christian church ministers and leaders all worshipped on, and kept holy,
God's Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath according to the Fourth Commandment. The
Bible record also gives us the command that we should follow their example.
MATTHEW 16:24 "THEN SAID JESUS UNTO HIS DISCIPLES, IF ANY MAN WILL COME
AFTER ME, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF, AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS, AND FOLLOW ME."
One of the ways that we deny ourselves is by refraining from doing our own good
pleasure on God's holy Sabbath day, as Jesus did. JOHN 10:27 "MY SHEEP HEAR MY
VOICE. AND I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW ME." The faithful followers of Jesus
Christ are His sheep, and we hear His voice through His holy written Bible and are
obedient to Him. I PETER 2: 21 "FOR EVEN HEREUNTO WERE YE CALLED: BECAUSE
CHRIST ALSO SUFFERED FOR US, LEAVING US AN EXAMPLE, THAT YE SHOULD
FOLLOW HIS STEPS:" I JOHN 2: 6 "HE THAT SAITH HE ABIDETH IN HIM OUGHT
HIMSELF ALSO TO WALK, EVEN AS HE WALKED (Jesus)."Even as Paul followed Jesus,
so does Paul say to follow him. We have just seen by the Bible scriptures what day
Jesus worshipped on, and the same truth applies to Paul because he, too,
worshipped on the same day. The reason Paul asks the church to follow him is
because he followed Jesus. II THESSALONIANS 3: 7,9 (7) "FOR YOURSELVES KNOW
HOW YE (you) OUGHT TO FOLLOW US: FOR WE BEHAVED NOT OURSELVES
DISORDERLY AMONG YOU: (9) NOT BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT POWER, BUT TO MAKE
OURSELVES AN ENSAMPLE UNTO YOU TO FOLLOW US." The example is in the Holy
Bible for us to follow, and it is extremely plain and clear.

DID JESUS OR PAUL CHANGE THESEVENTH DAY OF WORSHIP?

Many Christians say and believe that Jesus and/or Paul changed the fourth
commandment (God's seventh-day Sabbath of worship) to Sunday, the first day of
the week. Bur more
importantly, what does Jesus say about the changing of His holy law? MATTHEW 5:
17-18 (17) "THINK NOT THAT I AM COME TO DESTROY THE LAW, OR THE
PROPHETS: I
AM COME NOT TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFIL. (18) FOR VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, TILL
HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM
THE LAW, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED." LUKE 16:17 "AND IT IS EASIER FOR HEAVEN AND
EARTH TO PASS, THAN ONE TITTLE OF THE LAW TO FAIL." Jesus did not come to
change or do away with His Father's holy law, or the prophets' writings (the Old
Testament) in any way. He came to "FULFIL" the law, which means to adhere to; to
observe; to comply with; or to do the law. Jesus also warns us When He says
"verily" (truly), until heaven and earth pass, or until He destroys them at the end of
the world (II PETER 3: 7, 10-12), not one jot (dotting of an i) or one title (crossing of
a t) will be changed, altered, or done away with until everything in Bible prophecy
has been fulfilled or completed. Jesus also
said that it would be easier for Him to destroy the heavens and the earth than for
one crossing of a (t) in His holy law to fail or be omitted I PETER 1:25 "BUT THE
WORD OF THE LORD ENDURETH FOREVER, AND THIS IS THE WORD WHICH BY THE
GOSPEL IS PREACHED UNTO YOU." The Word of God, His Holy Bible, where you find
His Fourth Commandment, will last forever. We will show that the Seventh-day
Sabbath in prophecy will also last forever. Does this sound like Jesus changed His
holy written Word and law? No indeed, heaven and earth are still here, and all
prophecies have not yet been fulfilled, although we are very, very close.

IS THE SATURDAY SABBATH ONLY FOR THE JEWS?

Once again, there are many Christians who say God's Seventh-day Sabbath was
made for the Jews. We need only to go to the source of all truth to find the answer
by God's holy
written Word. MARK 2: 27-28 (27) "AND HE (Jesus) SAID UNTO THEM, THE
SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN, AND NOT MAN FOR THE SABBATH: (28)
"THEREFORE THE SON OF MAN (Jesus) IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH." Notice
that there is no mention of a Jew here, or an Hebrew, but rather the Sabbath was
made, or instituted, by God "FOR MAN", or all of humanity, and practiced by those
who love God and accept His holy immutable law. The Sabbath, as previously
stated, was instituted in the Garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve, centuries before
the first Jew came into existence.

There are many Christians who believe and teach that the Lord's Day is Sunday,
and that God changed it in honor of the resurrection of Jesus. We will see shortly,
by the Word of God that no change has ever been made by either God the Father,
God the Son (Jesus Christ), God the Holy Spirit, the apostle Paul, or any other
apostle or prophet. The Bible tells us that there is a "true Lord's Day", so now let us
see by the Word of God what day that is: MARK 2: 28 "THEREFORE THE SON OF
MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH." The Sabbath is the specific day spoken of
here, and Jesus said that He is Lord of that day. We must also note that the Son of
man (Jesus Christ) IS Lord of the Sabbath, not WAS. Note also what day Jesus Christ
is Lord of: THE SABBATH. This certainly could not have been Sunday, because He
had not yet gone to the cross. Another vital point of interest is in noting the word
THE and not A Sabbath. In fact, Jesus is still Lord of the Seventh-day
(Saturday) Bible Sabbath. MATTHEW 12: 8 "FOR THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN
OF THE SABBATH DAY." What Jesus is telling the ministers of His church today (as
well as then) is that He was the one who had instituted the Sabbath day of rest at
creation. Because He is the Creator, He certainly understood, better than any other
person, the purpose of doing
good and how we are to celebrate the Sabbath. In fact, the Jewish religious leaders
profaned and perverted the Sabbath by making it so stringent that no one could
keep it, much less enjoy it. Jesus Christ is the Creator of all things, (JOHN 1: 1-
3,10,14; HEBREWS 1: 1-2; COLOSSIANS 1: 14, 16-17). Jesus Christ also wrote the
Ten Commandment Law with His own finger on the two tables of stone, and He is
indeed Lord of the Sabbath Day.

If Jesus, Paul, or anyone could have (or did indeed) change the law and holy day of
rest and worship, would not they have made such a phenomenal change very plain
and clear? Yes,
indeed, they would have! MALACHI 3: 6 "FOR I AM THE LORD, I CHANGE NOT;...."
PSALM 89:34 "MY COVENANT WILL I NOT BREAK, NOR ALTER THE THING THAT IS
GONE OUT OF MY LIPS." God says that He will not "break His covenant", and we
find what the New Covenant or Testament really is in HEBREWS 8: 10 "FOR THIS IS
THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. AFTER THOSE
DAYS, SAITH THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, AND WRITE THEM
IN THEIR HEARTS: AND I WILL BE TO THEM A GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE TO ME A
PEOPLE:" HEBREWS 13:8 "JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, AND TO DAY, AND
FOREVER."

HEBREWS, CHAPTER FOUR

If Jesus could have changed the Seventh-day Sabbath, He certainly would have told
us plainly. Keep in mind that it was the apostle Paul who wrote the Book of
Hebrews, because most Protestant Christians believe that it was Paul who changed
the Seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday. NOTE: *(The remarks in parenthesis are
supplied). HEBREWS 4: 1-12 (1) LET US THEREFORE FEAR, LEST, A PROMISE
BEING LEFT US OF ENTERING INTO HIS REST. *(the Sabbath) ANY OF YOU SHOULD
SEEM TO COME SHORT OF IT. (2) FOR UNTO US WAS THE GOSPEL PREACHED, AS
WELL AS UNTO THEM: *(them being the ancient children of Israel) BUT THE WORD
PREACHED DID NOT PROFIT THEM, NOT BEING MIXED WITH FAITH IN THEM THAT
HEARD IT. (3) FOR WE WHICH HAVE BELIEVED DO ENTER INTO REST. *(the
Seventh-day sabbath), AS HE SAID, AS I HAVE SWORN IN MY WRATH, IF THEY SHALL
NOT ENTER INTO MY REST: *(the Sabbath day of rest) ALTHOUGH THE WORKS
WERE FINISHED FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD. *(Creation, GENESIS 2: 1-
3 and wrath NEHEMIAH 13: 18). (4) FOR HE SPAKE IN A CERTAIN PLACE OF THE
SEVENTH DAY ON THIS WISE, AND GOD DID REST THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS
WORKS. *(Creation, GENESIS 2: 1-3 and EXODUS 20: 8-11). (5) AND IN THIS PLACE
AGAIN, IF THEY SHALL ENTER INTO MY REST. *(PSALM 95: 7-11). (6) SEEING
THEREFORE IT REMAINETH THAT SOME MUST ENTER THEREIN, AND THEY TO WHOM
IT WAS FIRST PREACHED ENTERED NOT IN BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF:" (JEREMIAH 17:
21-23) The "some" mentioned here are the few Christians throughout the world and
centuries who have entered into God's rest by keeping His fourth commandment of
rest and worship. Those to whom it "was first preached" was ancient Israel, from
the time of the Exodus on down through the centuries, and they entered not into
God's Sabbath day of rest because they rejected it through their unbelief, though
they claimed to be the chosen people of God. (7) "AGAIN HE LIMITETH A CERTAIN
DAY, SAYING IN DAVID, TO DAY, AFTER SO LONG A TIME; AS IT IS SAID, TO DAY IF YE
WILL HEAR HIS VOICE. *(And we hear Him or His voice through the holy scriptures)
HARDEN NOT YOUR HEARTS. *(As God speaks of a certain day", what He is saying
is that not just any day, or all seven days, will be acceptable. The worship and holy
day of God is still being preached today, and God's people are still hardening their
hearts and stiffening their necks against His Seventh-day Sabbath and Fourth
Commandment by not accepting it, and by not doing it. Even after a long time, God
commands us "harden not your hearts" as the chosen people of God did so long ago
in "the provocation", and they still are today in Christianity. They provoked God by
refusing to enter into His holy day of rest). HEBREWS 3: 8-19; PSALM 95: 7-11; I
CORINTHIANS 10: 1-11). (8) FOR IF JESUS HAD GIVEN THEM REST, THEN WOULD HE
NOT AFTERWARD SPOKEN OF ANOTHER DAY. *(If Jesus had changed or altered
God's holy Seventh-day Sabbath of rest, the question is: Would not Jesus have
spoken of and told us plainly of another day in its place? Yes, He most definitely
would). (9) THERE REMAINETH THEREFORE A REST TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD.
*(Therefore, God's Seventh-day Sabbath of rest remains even unto this very day,
even unto the end of the world. God has always had a remnant (a few people) that
has always obeyed Him and did enter into His holy day of rest and worship). (10)
FOR HE THAT IS ENTERED INTO HIS REST, HE ALSO HATH CEASED FROM HIS OWN
WORKS, AS GOD DID FROM HIS. *(GENESIS 2: 1-3 and EXODUS 20: 8-11, Whenever
an individual keeps the Sabbath by entering into God's rest, that person will not do
any work, as previously mentioned). (11) LET US LABOR THEREFORE TO ENTER
INTO THAT REST; LEST *(unless) ANY MAN FALL AFTER THE SAME EXAMPLE OF
UNBELIEF (God tells us here that it is not easy to keep the Seventh-day (Saturday)
Sabbath holy, and that we are to "labor", or work at, entering into (keeping) His holy
special worship day of rest. God says if you refuse to keep it, then you will have
fallen into "unbelief" through disobedience which, in God's eyes, is the same as an
infidel or Gentile, (I THESSALONIANS 4: 5 and II CORINTHIANS 6:15). (12) "FOR THE
WORD OF GOD IS QUICK, AND POWERFUL, AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED
SWORD, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVIDING ASUNDER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT, AND OF
THE JOINTS AND MARROW, AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS
OF THE HEART." And the Word of God commands us plainly that we are to keep
holy and worship God on His Seventh-day Sabbath of rest.

Paul is telling us that the only authority we have is the holy written Word of God. Is
the Sabbath plain and clear in the Word of God? Yes, it is. Was the changing over
of the solemnity of God's Seventh-day Sabbath of the Fourth Commandment to the
first day of the week (Sunday) plain and clear? No indeed, it is not clear in the Word
of God, simply because it was never done, nor will it ever be done. The Word of
God (the Bible) is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. We
can see this in the life of Jesus Christ and all of the countless numbers of Martyrs
down through the millenniums, who have given their lives rather than alter the
Word and commands of God. The Word of God pierces even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow. This is how powerful God's Bible
truth and doctrines are.

The Word of God can split families (MATTHEW 10: 34-36), groups, churches, and
even individuals into two pieces. Why? Because it is truth, and our carnal minds,
sinful human nature, and selfish desires fight against the Holy Bible and its truths.
Even our very human nature is enmity against God (ROMANS 8:7). Man wants to
trust in himself, in his own knowledge and wisdom, in his own strength, and he
wants to do those things that are convenient and comfortable for him. Jesus had
told Paul, who had experienced this: "It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks",
(ACTS 9: 5; EPHESIANS 2: 2-3). Jesus commands us to "take up our cross and follow
Him" (MATTHEW 16:24). It can be very difficult. As a matter of fact, it is impossible
without Divine help and intervention through the rejuvenating power of the Holy
Spirit and our sincere desire to have it so. With a willing and zealous heart and love
for God, it can be done. For God to change a human being completely around, it
takes a miracle, but He will never alter or change His commandments and Holy
written Word to do so.

The fact of the matter is, the Word of God in truth is not very popular, never was,
and never will be. It wasn't popular back in the days of Ancient Israel or in the days
of Jesus Christ; it
isn't popular today, and neither will it be popular tomorrow. God's Holy Bible record
has proved this to be true, especially that pertaining to God's Fourth Commandment
and His
Seventh-day Sabbath of rest and worship. Much of Christianity has no problem with
the remaining nine commandments, but the fourth is just not acceptable, or
perhaps a better word may be "convenient." People do not like to be told When
they can work and When they can not work; When they can spend their money and
When they can not. This commandment does, very definitely, affect the pocket
book, and even one's employment.
We often forget that it is God who supplies us our job, wealth, and the ability to earn
it. DEUTERONOMY 8: 18 "BUT THOU SHALT REMEMBER THE LORD THY GOD: FOR
IT
IS HE THAT GIVETH THEE POWER TO GET WEALTH...." (ECCLESIASTES 5: 19;
PHILIPPIANS 4: 19; MATTHEW 6: 25-34). If we are going to keep the
commandments of God, then we must keep them in love, (JOHN 14: 15); not to be
saved, but because we are saved.

If God will not change His law, who can-or who will? The Lord tells us that in "the
latter days" someone would "think to change His times and laws." DANIEL 7: 25
"AND HE SHALL
SPEAK GREAT WORDS AGAINST THE MOST HIGH, AND SHALL WEAR OUT THE
SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, AND THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS:..." There is
only one law that deals with time, and that is God's Seventh-day Sabbath,
celebrated from even to even, or sunset to sunset, and not midnight to midnight.
DANIEL 8: 17 "SO HE CAME NEAR WHERE I STOOD: AND When HE CAME, I WAS
AFRAID, AND FELL UPON MY FACE: BUT HE SAID UNTO ME, UNDERSTAND, O SON OF
MAN: FOR AT THE TIME OF THE END SHALL BE THE VISION." The angel of the Lord
was giving Daniel this vital prophecy, and it was meant for those at the time of the
end to understand and take heed. The "Little Horn" prophecy of Daniel 7 and 8 is
the same prophecy of John the Revelator of the "Beast Power" of Revelation,
chapters 17,18, and 14, and has a direct bearing on the accepting or rejecting of
God's Seventh-day Sabbath and worship here in these last days.

THE CONTROVERSY

Why do we have this controversy as to the proper worship and rest day? Jesus
answers that for us, Himself, in JOHN 8: 45 "AND BECAUSE I TELL YOU THE TRUTH,
YE BELIEVE ME NOT." The problem comes into existence When man feels and
believes that he is intelligent and educated enough to understand and interpret
God's Holy bible scriptures on his own merit. Man makes the decision as to what he
is going to believe, instead of what God is telling him. However, god gives us ample
counsel and warning about interpreting His Holy Bible. PROVERBS 3: 5 "TRUST IN
THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART; AND LEAN NOT UNTO THINE OWN
UNDERSTANDING. PROVERBS 14:12 "THERE IS A WAY WHICH SEEMETH RIGHT
UNTO A MAN, BUT THE END THEREOF ARE THE WAYS OF EATH." JEREMIAH 10: 23-
24; II CORINTHIANS 1:9). The truth of the matter is, there is only one interpreter of
God's Holy Bible scriptures, who not only reveals the truth but convinces and
convicts us of it, if we will allow Him. JOHN 14: 26 "BUT THE COMFORTER,
WHICH IS THE HOLY GHOST, WHOM THE FATHER WILL SEND IN MY NAME (Jesus), HE
SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, AND BRING ALL THINGS TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE,
WHATSOEVER I HAVE SAID UNTO YOU." Where do we find "all things" that Jesus has
said unto us but in the Holy Scriptures, Genesis to Revelation, ((JOHN 5: 39). JOHN
16: 13 HOWBEIT When HE, THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, IS COME, HE WILL GUIDE YOU
INTO ALL TRUTH:...AND HE WILL SHOW YOU THINGS TO COME." The Holy Spirit of
God is THE ONLY INTERPRETER and TEACHER of the Holy Scriptures, and it is He
who will teach you all things in the Bible that God wants you to know, learn, and
obey.

It is the Holy Spirit who brings to our remembrance the Biblical truths, not our own
knowledge and intelligence. Neither are we able to obey that which God has given
us without the same power of His Holy Spirit. If all of Christianity was taught and
convicted by the Holy Spirit, we would all be members of one and the same faith
and church, and not all of these different denominations and beliefs that we have in
the world today. God gives us one of the reasons in ISAIAH 53: 6 "WE ALL LIKE
SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY: WE HAVE TURNED EVERYONE TO HIS OWN WAY: AND
THE LORD HATH LAID ON HIM (Jesus) THE INIQUITY OF US ALL." EPHESIANS 4: 14-
15 (14) "THAT WE HENCEFORTH BE NO MORE CHILDREN TOSSED TO AND FRO,
AND CARRIED ABOUT WITH EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE, BY THE SLEIGHT OF MEN,
AND CUNNING CRAFTINESS, WHEREBY THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE: (15) BUT
SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE, MAY GROW UP UNTO HIM IN ALL THINGS, WHICH IS
THE HEAD, EVEN CHRIST." God has made that very plain and clear in the Bible,
because there is only one God, ONE FAITH (or Truth), and one baptism, (EPHESIANS
4: 5). We must allow the Holy Spirit (and only the Holy Spirit) to reveal and convict
us of God's Biblical doctrines of truth.
WHAT IS TRUTH?

How can we know or find the truth? Jesus said that he is the truth, (JOHN 14: 16)
and we find Jesus and His truths in His Holy Bible Scriptures, (JOHN 5: 39). God has
commanded
His entire church followers to be of one mind and one accord, or to be in total
agreement where His Biblical doctrines and truths are concerned. When seeing and
understanding this in the light of God's truths, it makes perfect sense, especially
since there is only one truth, one teacher, and one interpreter of that truth.
PHILIPPIANS 2: 2 "FULFIL YE MY JOY, THAT YE BE LIKE MINDED, HAVING THE SAME
LOVE, BEING OF ONE ACCORD, OF ONE MIND." I CORINTHIANS 1: 10 "NOW I
BESEECH YOU, BRETHREN, BY THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THAT YE ALL
SPEAK THE SAME THING, AND THAT THERE BE NO DIVISIONS AMONG YOU: BUT
THAT YE BE PERFECTLY JOINED TOGETHER IN THE SAME MIND AND IN THE SAME
JUDGMENT." This is a clear, direct command of God to His church in this world in
that there be NO DIVISIONS AMONG US, that we all be in complete agreement on
His Bible truths and commandments, and that we ALL BELIEVE, SPEAK, and TEACH
the same Bible doctrinal truths. This most certainly is not what the Christian
churches in the world are exhibiting today, now is it? As long as man continues to
trust in himself, in his own intelligence, understanding and intellect of the spiritual
matters of God, and insists on believing what best suits himself, this division and
direct disobedience to God's Word will always exist.

Perfect harmony can only come from God to those who will seek Him and His truth
with all their heart. DEUTERONOMY 4: 29-31 (29) "BUT IF FROM THENCE THOU
SHALT SEEK THE LORD THY GOD, THOU SHALT FIND HIM (and His truth) IF THOU
SEEK HIM WITH ALL THY HEART AND WITH ALL THY SOUL. (30) When THOU ART IN
TRIBULATION, AND ALL THINGS ARE COME UPON THEE, EVEN IN THE LATTER DAYS,
IF THOU TURN TO THE LORD THY GOD, AND SHALT BE OBEDIENT UNTO HIS VOICE:
(31) (FOR THE LORD THY GOD IS A MERCIFUL GOD): HE WILL NOT FORSAKE
THEE...." (JEREMIAH 29: 13; PSALM 119: 2; ISAIAH 55: 6). These are some of the
reasons why there are so many different controversial beliefs amongst God's church
in the world today.

SUNDAY SCRIPTURES IN THE BIBLE

Though there are many disagreeing Biblical doctrinal beliefs among the churches,
the controversy studied here is that expressly dealing with God's Seventh-day
(Saturday) Sabbath of rest and worship. Keep in mind that the word Sunday is
never used in the Bible, and God refers to it as the "first day of the week." What we
are going to do now is to look at all of the Bible scriptures that the Sunday-keeping
people in the world today claim to be their authority for keeping Sunday, strictly.
We know that history has proved that Sunday is the day that the Pagans have
worshipped on throughout the past centuries in honor of the sun. It dates all the
way back to Egypt with the Pagan worship of "RA", the sun god. In fact, sun worship
even infiltrated the church of God in early Israel When God pointed this out to His
prophet Ezekiel, EZEKIEL 8: 5-18. We will be quoting only verses 15 and 16 here,
but the remaining verses should be read also. (15) "THEN SAID HE UNTO ME, HAST
THOU SEEN THIS, O SON OF MAN? TURN THEE YET AGAIN, AND THOU SHALT SEE
GREATER ABOMINATIONS THAN THESE. (16) AND HE BROUGHT ME INTO THE INNER
COURT OF THE LORD'S HOUSE, AND BEHOLD AT THE DOOR OF THE TEMPLE OF THE
LORD, BETWEEN THE PORCH AND THE ALTAR, WERE ABOUT FIVE AND TWENTY
MEN, WITH THEIR BACKS TOWARD THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD, AND THEIR FACES
TOWARD THE EAST: AND THEY WORSHIPPED THE SUN TOWARDS THE EAST." God
said that it was an ABOMINATION (extreme disgust) unto Him, speaking of those
things that were being done by His holy chosen people, Israel, His church. God lists
each grievous act as a greater abomination unto Him. (1) The Elders of Israel
offering incense to the idol images carved on the wall of the temple building. (2)
Women weeping for Tammuz. *(As the story goes, Tammuz was the son of Queen
Semiramis and King Nimrod, who had supposedly come down from the sun after his
death and had gotten Queen Semiramis pregnant, whereby, recognizing Nimrod as
being from the sun god; so, also, was his son Tammuz). And the worst abomination
of all, (3) the men of Israel with their backs to the Temple and their faces looking
toward the sun in sun worship. This is what "SUNDAY" REPRESENTS IN THE WORLD,
HONORING THE VENERABLE DAY OF THE SUN (Sunday).

Is Sunday worship a deception? It is not a question of whether the Bible Sabbath is,
indeed, Saturday; but rather, was the solemnity of God's holy seventh-day Sabbath
transferred or
changed to Sunday, the first day of the week? If there is no Bible proof to support
this belief, then it must be false and erroneous. While praying to His Father in JOHN
17: 17, Jesus says: "THY WORD IS TRUTH." Therefore, since God's Word CAN NOT
support Sunday keeping, it must be considered a lie. This pagan day of sun worship
was incorporated into the Christian church by Satan, and no wonder, for Jesus says
that "he is a liar and the father of it." JOHN 8: 44). God has instituted His Seventh-
day Sabbath original, and Satan has succeeded in deceiving most of Christianity
today by teaching that it was Christ who made the change from Sabbath to Sunday.
But we can find no evidence of this change anywhere in the entire Bible. By
believing in the counterfeit day of worship set forth by Satan, Christians today
continue to defile God's genuine holy day by breaking His Fourth Commandment,
EXODUS 20: 8-11. We are going to look at every Bible text in the New Testament
that pertains to THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (Sunday) and see if God did, indeed,
change the solemnity of His holy Seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday. The "first day of
the week" is mentioned only eight times in the entire New Testament.

(1) MATTHEW 28: 1 "IN THE END OF THE SABBATH, AS IT BEGAN TO DAWN
TOWARD THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, CAME MARY MAGDALENE AND THE OTHER
MARY TO SEE THE SEPULCHRE." Is there any mention, or even the remotest hint,
that God is changing over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day to Sunday?

(2) MARK 16: 1-2 (1) "AND When THE SABBATH WAS PAST, MARY MAGDALENE,
AND MARY THE MOTHER OF JAMES, AND SALOME, HAD BROUGHT SWEET SPICES,
THAT THEY MIGHT COME AND ANOINT HIM. (2) AND VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING
THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, THEY CAME UNTO THE SEPULCHRE AT THE RISING OF
THE SUN." Is there any mention, or even the remotest hint, that God is changing
over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day to Sunday?

(3) MARK 16: 9 "NOW When JESUS WAS RISEN EARLY THE FIRST DAY OF THE
WEEK, HE APPEARED FIRST TO MARY MAGDALENE, OUT OF WHOM HE HAD CAST
SEVEN DEVILS." Is there any mention, or even the remotest hint, that God is
changing over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day to Sunday?

(4) LUKE 24: 1 "NOW UPON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, VERY EARLY IN THE
MORNING, THEY CAME UNTO THE SEPULCHRE, BRINGING SPICES WHICH THEY HAD
PREPARED, AND CERTAIN OTHERS WITH THEM." Is there any mention, or even the
remotest hint, that God is changing over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath day of
worship to Sunday?

(5) JOHN 20: 1 "THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK COMETH MARY MAGDALENE EARLY,
When IT IS YET DARK, UNTO THE SEPULCHRE, AND SEETH THE STONE TAKEN AWAY
FROM THE SEPULCHRE." Is there any mention, or even the remotest hint, that God
is changing over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day to Sunday?

(6) JOHN 20: 19 "THEN THE SAME DAY AT EVENING BEING THE FIRST DAY OF THE
WEEK, When THE DOORS WERE SHUT WHERE THE DISCIPLES WERE ASSEMBLED
FOR FEAR OF THE JEWS CAME JESUS AND STOOD IN THE MIDST, AND SAITH UNTO
THEM, PEACE BE UNTO YOU."

There are many who say that this is the text that shows the change from God's
Sabbath worship day to Sunday, because the disciples were assembled. However,
where does it say here that they were assembled for a worship service? Where
does it say that God changed or transferred the solemnity of His holy Seventh day
to Sunday, the first day of the week? In fact, the Bible tells us very clear here in this
text that they were assembled because they were all frightened for their lives for
fear of the Jews, and THAT THEY WERE SHUT IN BEHIND SHUT (or locked) DOORS.
Certainly this was not an open worship service. Jesus does not say here that He is
changing His Father's holy law and Sabbath, or Fourth Commandment, and that
they are to begin worshipping God on Sunday (the first
day of the week) in honor of His resurrection. Is there any mention, or even the
remotest hint, that Jesus Christ is changing over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath
worship day to Sunday? Certainly not!

(7) ACTS 20: 7-8 (7) "AND UPON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, When THE
DISCIPLES CAME TOGETHER TO BREAK BREAD, PAUL PREACHED UNTO THEM,
READY TO DEPART ON THE MORROW: AND CONTINUED HIS SPEECH UNTIL
MIDNIGHT. (8) AND THERE WERE MANY LIGHTS IN THE UPPER CHAMBER, WHERE
THEY WERE GATHERED TOGETHER."

Many Protestants also claim this text as their authority for Sunday worship. By the
"breaking of bread", they claim that the disciples had come together for communion
service. Once again, where does it state anywhere in these texts that they were
receiving communion? What it does say is that they came together "TO BREAK
BREAD", which means they came together TO EAT, or share a meal. Because Paul
preached to them all day, even until midnight, does this mean he was, in fact,
preaching at a worship service? I am certain Paul had preached countless numbers
of times on each day of the week, whenever the opportunity presented itself, as any
good minister would do. However, the fact of the matter is, there is no mention
here about a religious worship service or the celebrating of the ordinance of
communion. Neither does it mention that the Sabbath day was changed to Sunday.
I am sure that they gathered on other days, as well, to eat and fellowship with one
another by breaking bread, MATTHEW 14: 19;
MARK 8: 6; LUKE 24: 30; and after the death of Christ, ACTS 2: 46 and ACTS 20:7.

They also claim that because Paul preached unto them on a Sunday, it constituted
the change from God's Sabbath to Sunday. Because ministers preach at
Wednesday evening prayer meetings, weddings, funerals, or any special church
gatherings does not mean or constitute a change from God's holy Sabbath worship
day. This does not constitute a CHANGE BY GOD. The question still remains the
same. Does God say, plain and clear, that He has changed His sanctified day of rest
and worship? Certainly not! Is there any mention, or even the remotest hint, that
God is changing over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day to Sunday? No,
indeed!

(8) I CORINTHIANS 16: 1-4 "NOW CONCERNING THE COLLECTION FOR THE SAINTS,
AS I HAVE GIVEN ORDER TO THE CHURCHES OF GALATIA, EVEN SO DO YE. (2)
UPON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK LET EVERY ONE OF YOU LAY BY HIM IN STORE
AS GOD HATH PROSPERED HIM, THAT THERE BE NO GATHERINGS When I COME. (3)
AND When I COME, WHOSOEVER YE SHALL APPROVE BY YOUR LETTERS, THEM WILL
I SEND TO BRING YOUR LIBERALITY UNTO JERUSALEM." (4) AND IF IT BE MEET
(decided) THAT I GO ALSO, THEY SHALL GO WITH ME."

This is yet another Bible text that the Sunday keeping Protestants claim for their
authority. However, where does it mention that they were to gather to worship God
on this day (the first day of the week) anywhere in these Bible texts? The Bible tells
us explicitly what the churches of Galatia and Corinth were supposed to do on the
first day of the week prior to Paul's arrival. They were to gather all of their gifts and
donations together to help the poor brethren in Jerusalem, ACTS 11: 29. Paul was
ordering them to do all their gathering, boxing, and packaging on Sunday, NOT THE
SABBATH. Paul wanted everything to be ready in preparation for their leaving on
Sunday. Paul also called for representatives from the Corinthian churches to be
ready to accompany the donations and goods to Jerusalem. This "special collection"
for the saints, or poor Christian people in Jerusalem, is not the TITHE COLLECTION
that God has commanded to be collected at Sabbath worship service, but rather, a
special collection of whatever goods or wares they may want to donate to the poor.
They are reading something in these scriptures that is just not
there in order to satisfy their conscience and reasoning for keeping Sunday worship.
Is there any mention here, or even the remotest hint, that God is changing over the
solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day to Sunday?

(This concludes the first-day Bible texts in the New Testament). However, we will
go on to examine the remaining Bible scriptures that the Protestant churches claim
for their authority.

(9) ROMANS 14: 5-6 (5) "ONE MAN ESTEEMETH ONE DAY ABOVE ANOTHER:
ANOTHER ESTEEMETH EVERY DAY ALIKE. LET EVERY MAN BE FULLY PERSUADED IN
HIS OWN MIND, HE THAT REGARDETH THE DAY, REGARDETH IT UNTO THE LORD:
AND HE THAT REGARDETH NOT THE DAY, TO THE LORD HE DOTH NOT REGARD IT.
HE THAT EATETH, EATETH TO THE LORD, FOR HE GIVETH GOD THANKS; AND HE
THAT EATETH NOT, TO THE LORD HE EATETH NOT, AND NEITHER GIVETH GOD
THANKS."

This is, perhaps, the most popular Bible text that the Sunday keeping Protestant
churches use to support their reason for worshipping on Sunday. If you will notice
in verse 5, God is
telling us of a day which "MAN" esteems and not the day that "GOD esteems as holy
and sanctified for worship. The Seventh-day Sabbath of God was never included
here because of the simple fact that only God can make anything holy and
sanctified (or set apart) for holy use. What makes God's Seventh-day Sabbath holy
is His presence in it. Some people esteem every day alike, not giving heed to God's
holy worship day, while others regard every day - or certain days - special to the
Lord, but they are not holy or sanctified days commanded by God to keep holy
under the penalty of sin, such as His Seventh-day Sabbath. Once again, this text in
no way remotely suggests that God's holy Seventh-day Sabbath of worship is
included in this rebuke by Paul to those in the church who are dedicated to causing
confusion in the new-found Christian church. Paul is certainly not speaking, or
making of none effect, God's Fourth Commandment. In fact, this problem was not
only a problem in the church at Rome, but other churches as well, as we will see
here in a moment.

THE PROBLEMS IN THE EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH

It is very evident that there were many problems plaguing the early Christian
church, and Paul had the tremendous task of having to bring the church unto God's
Biblical truths. Therefore, we must not take these scriptures out of context. We
must look at the entire picture (or problem) and in order to do this, we must study
the Bible as God has commanded us "by searching the scriptures line upon line,
precept upon precept, here a little, and there a little", (ISAIAH 28: 10; II TIMOTHY 2:
15). When we do this, we will find the truth and in doing so, we will discover some
of these troublesome problems that were being incorporated into the doctrines of
God's church by men that were hindering its spiritual growth. GALATIANS 4: 8-11
(8) "HOWBEIT THEN, When YE KNEW NOT GOD, YE DID SERVICE UNTO THEM WHICH
BY NATURE ARE NO GODS. (9) BUT NOW, AFTER THAT YE HAVE KNOWN GOD, OR
RATHER ARE KNOWN OF GOD, HOW THEN TURN YE AGAIN TO THE WEAK AND
BEGGARLY ELEMENTS. WHEREUNTO YE DESIRE AGAIN TO BE IN BONDAGE? (10) YE
OBSERVE DAYS, AND MONTHS, AND TIME AND YEARS. (11) I AM AFRAID OF YOU,
LEST I HAVE BESTOWED UPON YOU LABOUR IN VAIN." Even though many of these
people have been brought into the church, they still remain in their old customs of
"esteeming", or observing pagan days and times of celebration or worship.

There were many problems in the early Christian church with the enjoining of the
pagan (Gentile) and Jewish converts. Both were bringing their "man made"
traditional beliefs into the church, causing great strife and controversy among
themselves. Then there were the Jewish converts who were trying to enforce the
"Sacrificial Ordinances of Moses" which dealt greatly with the special Sabbath days,
holy days, or feast days. All of these were involved in sacrificing and in meat and
drink offerings. Some of these special feast days or holy days had from seven to
fourteen straight holy days in a row, (TITUS 1: 10-14), and the Gentiles (GALATIANS
4: 8-11). They all worshipped and observed days, months, times, and years. We
know that these days which "man esteems" are not in any way being incorporated
with God's Seventh-day Sabbath, because the Bible does not-and can not-
contradict. Paul is not changing or doing away with God's Fourth Commandment, or
any part of His holy law in any way. Paul does not have that authority, and Jesus
said He could destroy heaven and earth easier than it would be to alter one word in
His holy law. This is what the apostle Paul says in ROMANS 3: 31 "DO WE THEN
MAKE VOID THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YEA (yes), WE ESTABLISH
THE LAW." ROMANS 7:7 "WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? IS THE LAW SIN? GOD
FORBID, NAY (no), I HAD NOT KNOWN SIN, BUT BY THE LAW: FOR I HAD NOT
KNOWN LUST, EXCEPT THE LAW HAD SAID, THOU SHALT NOT COVET." Is Paul
contradicting himself here? Is he changing or altering God's law in any way? No,
indeed. The apostle Paul was contending with the mixing of pagan mythical beliefs
and Jewish customs (also known as JUDAIZING) with God's doctrinal truths. Paul is
telling these churches that these beliefs, mixed together in the church, would have
been devastating to the newborn Christian faith and churches.
Paul tells us in his epistle to Titus that the Jews (or Judaizers) in the church were
doing great spiritual harm to those Jews and Gentiles who were seeking God's truths
instead of the doctrines of men. TITUS 1:10-14,16 (10) "FOR THERE ARE MANY
UNRULY AND VAIN TALKERS AND DECEIVERS, SPECIALLY THEY OF THE
CIRCUMCISION(Jews):(11) WHOSE MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, WHO SUBVERT
WHOLE HOUSES, TEACHING THINGS WHICH THEY OUGHT NOT, FOR FILTHY LUCRE'S
SAKE. (12) ONE OF THEMSELVES, EVEN A PROPHET OF THEIR OWN, SAID, THE
CRETIANS ARE ALWAYS LIARS, EVIL BEASTS, SLOW BELLIES. (13) THIS WITNESS IS
TRUE, WHEREFORE, REBUKE THEM SHARPLY, THAT THEY MAY BE SOUND IN THE
FAITH; (14) NOT GIVING HEED TO JEWISH FABLES AND COMMANDMENTS OF MEN,
THAT TURN FROM THE TRUTH. (16) THEY PROFESS THAT THEY KNOW GOD; BUT IN
WORKS THEY DENY HIM, BEING ABOMINABLE, AND DISOBEDIENT, AND UNTO EVERY
GOOD WORK REPROBATE."

Once again, some of these special days that were esteemed by the Jews were those
days that were involved with the sacrificing of animals for the remission of their
sins. Two such
special days were "THE FEAST OF BOOTHS" and "THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES", of
which Jesus "nailed to His cross" because they were absorbed in sacrificing, which
was
now done away with (COLOSSIANS 2: 14 and LEVITICUS 23: 4-39). And, of course,
the Gentiles in Rome and throughout the Christian regions had many false gods for
each day of the week. The Bible does not-and can not-contradict. Paul, and those
to whom he was writing, knew that the Seventh-day Sabbath of God was never to
be included in this discussion, and that is why Paul had no need to mention it. Is
there any mention here, or even the remotest hint, that God is changing over the
solemnity of His holy Sabbath day to Sunday? It was never mentioned, much less
changed.

(10) COLOSSIANS 2:14,16 (14) BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES

THAT WAS AGAINST US, WHICH WAS CONTRARY TO US, AND TOOK IT OUT OF THE
WAY. NAILING IT TO HIS CROSS." (16) LET NO MAN THEREFORE JUDGE YOU IN
MEAT, OR IN DRINK, OR IN RESPECT OF AN HOLYDAY, OR OF THE NEW MOON, OR
OF THE SABBATH DAYS."

These texts are also used by the Protestant churches in their belief that God,
through Paul, changed His fourth Commandment and Holy Sabbath day. However,
in order to understand the true meaning of these texts, we must also read VERSES
6-8, 22, (Remarks in parenthesis have been added). (6) "AS YE HAVE THEREFORE
RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, SO WALK YE IN HIM." (Jesus worshipped and
kept holy His Father's Seventh day [Saturday] of worship). (7) "ROOTED AND BUILT
UP IN HIM, AND STABLISHED IN THE FAITH, AS YE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT, ABOUNDING
THEREIN WITH THANKSGIVING." Jesus, the Apostles, and Paul established the faith
by their acts and deeds, and they all worshipped God on His Seventh-day Sabbath
of rest, according
to the Fourth commandment, (MARK 1: 21-22; LUKE 4: 14-16; ACTS 17:2; ACTS 18:
4,11).

It is made very plain and clear in the Bible which day God taught us to worship on.
(8) "BEWARE LEST ANY MAN SPOIL YOU THROUGH PHILOSOPHY AND VAIN DECEIT,
AFTER THE TRADITION OF MEN, AFTER THE RUDIMENTS OF THE WORLD, AND NOT
AFTER CHRIST." God is warning His church here that there are men who will be
teaching their own traditions and teaching for commandments the doctrines of
men, not God's. They are contrary to that of Holy Scripture. God teaches and
commands us to keep His Sabbath day holy, and it is man who teaches Sunday.
(22) WHICH ALL ARE TO PERISH WITH THE USING: AFTER THE COMMANDMENTS
AND DOCTRINES OF MEN? Those who teach and follow these things are going to
perish in hell's fire. The Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath is a direct command of
God under the penalty of sin; this we know for certain.

The pertinent questions that we must ask as pertaining to the texts in VERSES 14
and 16 are: Is the Fourth Commandment of God "a philosophy", "a vain deceit", "a
tradition of men", or "a rudiment of the world?" Is the Seventh-day Sabbath a
doctrine or a commandment of men or of God? Is the Seventh-day Sabbath of God
"nailed to the cross?" If the answer is yes, (as many Sunday keeping ministers and
followers believe) then what place or purpose does the remaining nine
commandments have? Were they also done away with, or did Jesus only nail one
commandment to the cross? In no way is this possible, as the Word of God tells us
in ROMANS 5: 13 "FOR UNTIL THE LAW SIN WAS IN THE WORLD: BUT SIN IS NOT
IMPUTED When THERE IS NO LAW." Where there is no law, there is no sin. Sin is
the transgression (or breaking) of God's holy Ten Commandment Law, (1 JOHN 3:4).
The world and all of the inhabitants in it certainly disproves this theory
that the law was done away with, because sin certainly does abound.

In ISAIAH 42: 21 God says that Jesus would come and uphold the law. "FOR THE
LORD IS WELL PLEASED FOR HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE; HE WILL MAGNIFY THE
LAW, AND MAKE IT HONOURABLE." Jesus Christ came and did, indeed, magnify the
law by making it clearer, and He also made it honorable, through obedience to it in
love for His heavenly Father, whereby setting the example for us to follow. By
doing this, would He then abolish His holy law by "nailing it to His cross", or would
He, perhaps, be abolishing all of the SACRIFICIAL ORDINANCES" that were written
by Moses in a book? What makes more sense and is far more reasonable? We
believe the evidence is not only very clear, but overwhelming. The only ordinances
that Jesus nailed to his cross were the Sacrificial Ordinances of LEVITICUS 23: 4-44,
of which He came and fulfilled (and are now obsolete), because Jesus Christ was the
sacrificial Lamb who was slain for our sins. He made the "final atonement" for the
sins of all humanity only once, (REVELATION 5: 12-13).

To further help in proving that what Jesus nailed to His cross were the sacrificial
ordinances, we will present a few more Bible texts on this. The ordinances that
were blotted out were all those sacrificial laws that pertained to the cleansing of the
sins of the children of Israel prior to the cross. We are going to look at the
significant meaning of "the middle wall of partition" or "the veil" of the Temple, and
what took place When Jesus died on the cross. But first, the "middle wall of
partition or veil" represented symbolically the separation of God from ourselves by
our sins. ISAIAH 59: 2 "BUT YOUR INIQUITIES HAVE SEPARATED BETWEEN YOU
AND YOUR GOD, AND YOUR SINS HAVE HID HIS FACE FROM YOU, THAT HE WILL
NOT HEAR." This separation from God by sin is represented by the "veil or curtain"
which separated the holy from the most holy place in the Temple. Only the High
Priest could enter (and only once a year) to make the final atonement by the
sprinkling of the blood of the sacrificial animal for the remission of the sins of all
Israel, or
God's church. Please read: LEVITICUS 16:2; MATTHEW 27: 50-51; and HEBREWS 9:
3-12. When Jesus, with His shed blood, made the final sacrifice on the cross, there
was no longer the need for the separation in the Temple between the holy place
and the most holy place where the Holy Spirit of God dwelled in power behind the
veil (or curtain).

Through the sacrifice of Jesus, there was no longer any need for the High Priest, or
any priests, to make any more Sacrificial atonement for sin through the shed blood
of the sacrificial animals, in accordance with the ordinances of sacrificing. MARK
15: 37-38 (37) "AND JESUS CRIED WITH A LOUD VOICE, AND GAVE UP THE GHOST.
(38) AND THE VEIL OF THE TEMPLE WAS RENT IN TWAIN FROM THE TOP TO THE
BOTTOM." EPHESIANS 2: 13-15 (13) "BUT NOW IN CHRIST JESUS YE WHO
SOMETIMES WERE FAR OFF AND MADE NIGH (near) BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST (14)
FOR HE IS OUR PEACE, WHO HATH MADE BOTH ONE, AND HATH BROKEN DOWN
THE MIDDLE WALL OF PARTITION (veil) BETWEEN US (We no longer have to sacrifice
animals for the forgiveness of our sins). (15) HAVING ABOLISHED "IN THE FLESH"
THE ENMITY, EVEN THE LAW OF COMMANDMENTS "CONTAINED IN ORDINANCES":
(EXODUS 29:1-46; LEVITICUS 1: 1-17;
LEVITICUS, CHAPTERS 4 -trespass. "FOR TO MAKE IN HIMSELF, OF TWAIN ONE NEW
MAN, SO MAKING PEACE." These "law of commandments" were the handwritten
ordinances of God, written by Moses in a book, pertaining to the sacrificing of
animals for sin, trespass offerings, oblations, meat and drink offerings, the continual
cleansing of the sanctuary; altar; and purtenances, etc. Therefore, through the
sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross, "the middle partition or veil" in the
temple was rent (torn) in two from top to bottom, signifying its end forever. Is there
any mention here in these texts, or even the remotest hint, that God is changing
over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath day of worship to Sunday? Absolutely not!

(11) HEBREWS 1: 1-2 (1) "GOD WHO AT SUNDRY TIMES AND IN DIVERS MANNERS
SPAKE IN TIME PAST UNTO THE FATHERS BY THE PROPHETS, (2) HATH IN THESE
LAST DAYS SPOKEN UNTO US BY HIS SON, WHOM HE HATH APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL
THINGS, BY WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE WORLDS:" There are some Christians that
say, "See, God says "at sundry times." They have taken this to mean "at Sunday
times." The word Sunday is never mentioned in all of God's Holy Bible. They
mistake the word SUNDRY for Sunday, when it simply means "DIFFERENT" or
VARIOUS." This text means: God, who at sundry (various) times and in divers
(different) manners, spoke
in time past.

(12) (REVELATION 1: 10 "I WAS IN THE SPIRIT ON THE LORD'S DAY, AND HEARD
BEHIND ME A GREAT VOICE, AS OF A TRUMPET." This is the last controversial
Sunday text in the Bible and/or New Testament that is used by the Sunday keeping
Protestant churches for their authority in keeping Sunday over the Seventh-day
(Saturday) Sabbath of God. They say that John the Revelator changed the worship
day here because he said he was in the spirit on the Lord's day. The major flaw in
this belief is that John never stated what specific day was the Lord's day. He never
mentions the first day of the week, or Sunday. In fact, this text points far more
positively to the Lord's day as being the Seventh-day Sabbath. We can prove this
point by reading MARK 2: 28 "THEREFORE, THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE
SABBATH." In these previous scriptures, the ministers in the church were accusing
Jesus of breaking the Sabbath, and Jesus is telling them that the Sabbath is His day,
as it should be, because He is the Creator and, therefore, Lord of that day. If Jesus
is the Lord of the Sabbath day, it would be far more logical and acceptable that John
was in the Spirit on none other than the Seventh-day Sabbath - not Sunday. Is
there any mention in this text, or even the remotest hint, that God has changed
over the solemnity of His holy Sabbath worship day of rest to Sunday? The answer
is very plain and clear. No, indeed! We would now like to present some statements
made by theology leaders and laymen on this important Biblical doctrine:

(1) BAPTIST

Dr. Hiscox's solemn question and declaration: "There was, and is, a commandment
to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath was not Sunday. It will be said,
however, and with
some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the
first day of the week, with all its duties, privileges, and sanctions. Earnestly desiring
information on
this subject, which I have studied for many years, I ask, where can the record of
such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament, absolutely not. There is
no scriptural evidence of the change of the Sabbath institution from the seventh to
the first day of the week...."

"Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did come into use in early Christian
history as a religious day, as we learn from the Christian fathers and other sources.
But what a pity that it comes branded with the mark of paganism, christened with
the name of the sun god, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism?" - - -
- Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, author of the Baptist Manual, in a paper read before a New
York Minister's Conference held November 13, 1893

(2) LUTHERAN

"They (the Catholics) allege the Sabbath changed into Sunday, the Lord's day,
contrary to the Decalogue, as it appears; neither is there any example more
boasted of than the changing of the Sabbath day. Great, say they, is the power and
authority of the church since it dispensed with one of the ten commandments." - - -
- Augsburg Confession, article XXVIII.

(3) CONGREGATIONALIST

It is quite clear that however rigidly or devoutly we may spend Sunday, we are not
keeping the Sabbath....The Sabbath was founded on a specific, divine command.
We can plead no such command for the observance of Sunday....There is not a
single sentence in the New Testament to suggest that we incur any penalty by
violating the supposed sanctity of Sunday." The Ten Commandments, R. W. Dale,
D.D. (Congregationalist), pp. 106-107, London: Hodder and Stoughton.

(4) CHURCH OF ENGLAND

There is no word, no hint, in the New Testament about abstaining from work on
Sunday.... The observance of Ash Wednesday or Lent stands on exactly the same
footing as the
observance of Sunday.... Into the rest of Sunday no divine law enters" - - - - The Ten
Commandments, Canon Eyton (Church of England) London: Trubner.

(5) CHRISTIAN

"I do not believe that the Lord's day came in the room of the Jewish Sabbath, or that
the Sabbath was changed from the seventh day to the first day, for this plain
reason, that where
there is no testimony, there can be no faith. Now there is no testimony in all the
oracles of heaven that the Sabbath was changed, or that the Lord's day came in the
room of it....
"Alexander Campbell (Candidus) in Washington (Pa.) Reporter, October 8, 1821.

(6) PRESBYTERIAN

"The moral law doth forever bind all, as well justified persons as others, to the
obedience thereof, and that not only in regard of the matter contained in it, but also
in respect of the authority of God the Creator who gave it. Neither doth Christ in
the gospel any way dissolve, but much strengthen, this obligation." - - - -From the
Constitution of the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. *(They believe the Ten
Commandment Law is still inding, but yet they reject God's Fourth Commandment,
the Seventh-day Sabbath, by keeping Sunday). *(Remarks in parenthesis supplied).

(7) "It must be confessed that there is no law in the New Testament
concerning the first day." (Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical
Literature, McClintock and Strong, Vol. IX, p. 196).

(8) "The day was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week, not
on the ground of any particular command." (Philip Schaff, History of the Christian
Church, Vol. 1 p. 478).

(THE EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH OBSERVED THE SABBATH)

(9) "Consistently with this notion, the custom of meeting in synagogues for the
purpose of hearing the law and the Prophets read and expound was followed by Him
(Jesus) and His
disciples,.... Thus giving rise to services of worship on the Sabbath Day in the
Christian Church.... When Christianity was established as a distinct faith, its
adherents, following the
example of Jesus, observed the Sabbath with the evident intention of using it as a
means of spiritual edification." (New Standard Bible Dictionary, Funk and Wagnalls,
1936, p. 792, italics supplied).

(10) "As far as we can see, there was no thought on the part of the first
"disciples" of ever discontinuing an observance to which, as Jews, they had been
accustomed all their lives... where Jesus continued to form the main personnel of
Christian communities, Sabbath observance still lived on." (Dictionary of the
Apostolic Church, Vol. 2, Scribner, 1922, p. 423).

(11) "The Jewish Christians of the early church continued to observe the
Sabbath." (Encyclopedia Britannica, 1971, Vol. 19, p. 854).

(12) "The early Christians kept the seventh day as a sabbath much after the
fashion of other Jews. Gradually, the first day of the week came to be recognized as
the day on which
the followers of Jesus would meet for worship." (The New International Standard
Bible Encyclopedia, Vol. IV, p. 2631).
(13) "The almost total silence of the epistles in relation to keeping the Sabbath
doubtless grew out of the fact that the early Christians kept the Sabbath, and that
this period was one of change from the seventh to the first day of the week. Any
definite rules would have been sure to be misunderstood. For many years both the
first and seventh days of the week were kept as a Sabbath; and gradually the first
day of the week, the Lord's day, took the place among Christians of the seventh
day, and they had the fullest warrant for the change." (Peloubet's Bible Dictionary,
1947, p. 572, italics supplied).... *(If you will notice in this statement, as well as in
all the others, there is no mistaking the true Bible Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath
of worship. It is also stated here that "they had the fullest warrant for the change",
but notice how none of them give the authority or the scriptural reference as to
where God made the change. In fact, none of these statements have been backed
up by any scriptural authority, or references in those statements that believe the
Sabbath was changed).

(14) "It is clear that Jesus, His disciples, and the Jewish Christians observed the
Sabbath.... "The primitive church in Palestine was almost entirely Jewish and as
such continued Sabbath observance; it was a social necessity. (The New
International Dictionary of the Christian Church, 1974, pp. 870, 939).

Here is a statement with a little different approach. The authors readily admit that
Jesus, His disciples (the Apostles also, including Paul, long after their deaths) and all
of the
Jewish and Greek converts worshipped God on His Seventh-day Sabbath. This, I
might add, continued on for several centuries after the death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. However, it was not only Jewish Christians, but all Christians
worshipped on God's holy Sabbath day for over 350 years after the death of Jesus.

My questions are these: They refer to Jesus as being JEWISH, which he was, is, and
always will be. At what time after his death did Jesus stop becoming a Jew? If this
is so, when
exactly did Jesus and all of His dead prophets, the ancient faithful Israelites, the
original twelve apostles and their faithful followers become Christians after their
deaths? But note where they say "IT WAS A SOCIAL NECESSITY." The truth of the
matter is that it was not a social necessity; it was and still is the Fourth
Commandment of God. No one comes under the penalty of sin and the second (or
eternal) death for failing to keep a social necessity. However, to break or fail to
keep God's commandments (including the Fourth Commandment to keep holy the
Seventh-day Sabbath and refrain from all work), most certainly does come under
the penalty of sin and the eternal death. EXODUS 20: 8-11).

It is clearly seen that these statements are primarily in reference to the keeping of
the Sabbath by the early Christian Jews. But once again, the question that must be
asked is: Was the Ten Commandments given by God for the Jews only? Who did
God make the Sabbath for; the Jews, or man? God gives us the answer very plain
and clear in MARK 2: 27 "AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR
MAN, AND NOT MAN FOR THE SABBATH": The Sabbath was made for MAN, and not
the Jews only. All of these statements agree and admit that the Seventh day was
indeed the true day of worship as commanded by God, and that it was changed to
Sunday. Keep in mind, also, that not one statement had given any evidence of
scriptural authority whatsoever for the change; Why? BECAUSE THERE IS NONE.

(FROM THE CATHOLIC CHURCH)

In the following statements, we will discover the truth about the controversy
between the Seventh-day Sabbath and the first day of the week worship
observance. We are going to see who truly made the change of the solemnity of
God's Seventh-day Sabbath and its transfer to Sunday, the first day of the week. It
is not only very plain and clear but believable, as well. It is also in perfect harmony
with God's prophetic message of DANIEL 7: 25 AND HE SHALL SPEAK GREAT
WORDS AGAINST THE MOST HIGH, AND SHALL WEAR OUT THE SAINTS OF THE
MOST HIGH, AND THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS:....."

(1) "The Catholic Church for over one thousand years before the existence of a
Protestant, by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to
Sunday.... The
Christian Sabbath is therefore to this day, the acknowledged offspring of the
Catholic Church as Spouse of the Holy Ghost, without a word of remonstrance from
the Protestant world." (The Catholic Mirror, Sept. 23, 1893)

(2) Written about A.D. 277 by Archelaus: "Again, as to the assertion that the
Sabbath has been abolished, we deny that He has abolished it plainly; for He was
himself also Lord of the Sabbath." (Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. VI, p. 217).

(3) "Thou shalt observe the Sabbath, on account of Him who ceased from His
work of creation, but ceased not from His work of providence." (The Apostolica
Constitutions, Ante-Nicene Christian Library, Vol. 17, p. 66).

(4) "Almost all churches throughout the world celebrate the sacred mysteries
on the Sabbath of every week, yet the Christians at Alexandria and Rome, on
account of some ancient tradition have ceased to do this." Written by Socrates, an
early church historian written in the fourth or fifth century. (Ecclesiastical History,
Book 5, chapter 22). *(Remarks supplied) *Socrates recognized that the pagan
converts at Rome and Alexandria stopped worshipping on the Seventh-day Sabbath
and began worshipping on the venerable day of the sun, Sunday, by the tradition of
men.

"Q. What is the third commandment?

A. The third commandment is: Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath
day.

Q. Which is the Sabbath day?

A. Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Q. Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the

Council
of Laodicia (A.D. 336), transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.
Q. Why did the Catholic Church substitute Sunday for Saturday?

A. The church substituted Sunday for Saturday, because Christ rose from the
dead on
Sunday, and the Holy Ghost descended upon the Apostles on a Sunday.

Q, By what authority did the church substitute Sunday for Saturday?

A. The church substituted Sunday for Saturday by the plenitude of that divine
power
which Jesus Christ bestowed upon her." (The Convert's Catechism of Catholic

Doctrine, by Rev. Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., published by B. Herder, of St.

Louis,
Missouri, 1910, pp. 49, 50).

The Roman Catholic church openly and blatantly admits she changed the
commandments of God, including the fourth, not by any scriptural authority but by
her own ecclesiastical power and authority. If you will notice in the first question, it
states: "What is the third commandment?" The church gives her own shortened
version of the commandment, but note how she changed God's Fourth
Commandment to the Third. The following is a comparison of God's Ten
Commandment Law and that of the Catholic Church's Ten Commandments as
written in her catechism for the teaching of the school children and
converts. However, she has not changed the Ten Commandments in her Catholic
Bible, as yet.

It is certainly very plain and evident the change that has been made between God's
Biblical Ten Commandment Law and that of the revised, or changed, version by the
Catholic Church. This happened just as God said it would in DANIEL 7: 25 "AND HE
SHALL SPEAK GREAT WORDS AGAINST THE MOST HIGH, AND SHALL WEAR OUT THE
SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, AND THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS:...."They only
THINK they have the power to change God's times and laws, because no one can
change or alter God's Ten Commandment Law or any of His holy written Word in
any way. At least the Roman Papacy openly admits that she did, indeed, change
God's Laws and Fourth commandment without any scriptural authority, because
there is none. Yet, the Protestant churches accept the change gladly because they
worship on Sunday. However, they can not accept the fact that the Catholic Church
most definitely did change it, and in not
accepting that truthful fact, they try to make the Holy Scriptures admit that God
changed His holy worship day Himself. It can not be done, it was not done, so let us
go on.

(6)
"Q. Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute
festivals of precept?

A. Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern
religionists agree with her;....she could not have substituted the observance
of
Sunday the first day of the week. A CHANGE FOR WHICH THERE IS NO
SCRIPTURAL
AUTHORITY. (A Doctrinal Catechism, p. 174, by Rev. Stephen Keenan,
published by
J. P. Kennedy and sons, New York City).

Q. How prove you that the church hath power to command feasts and holy
days?

A. By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants
allow of; and therefore, they fondly contradict them selves, by keeping Sunday
strictly, and breaking
most other feasts commanded by the same church.

Q. How prove you that?

A. Because by keeping Sunday they acknowledge the church's power to ordain

feasts, and to command them under sin." (An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine,
p. 58).

Some of the feasts and holy days that she has commanded is: Easter Sunday,
Christmas Day, Lent, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, All Saints Day, Holy Days of
Obligation dedicated to Mary and the Saints, the Stations of the Cross, the Novenas
to Mary, etc. Many of the Protestant churches do keep some of these, while others
observe all of them. The Catholic Church has commanded them to be kept under
the penalty of sin (nowhere to be found in all of God's holy Bible). This is what Jesus
meant when He said they are "teaching for commandments the doctrines of men"
and because of this, He also said, "they worship Him in vain"(or for nothing),
(MATTHEW 15:9).

(7) "You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a
single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the
religious bservance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify." (Written by
Cardinal Gibbons in, "Faith of our Fathers", edition of 1917, pp. 72-73). "It is evident
the Catholic Church "never sanctified" God's Seventh-day Sabbath, but God most
certainly did, GENESIS 2: 3 "AND GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND
SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE THAT IN IT HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH
GOD CREATED AND MADE."

(8) "What Protestant can, after perusing these articles with a clear conscience,
continue to disobey the command of God, enjoining Saturday to be kept, which
command his teacher, the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, records the will of
God? The history of the world cannot present a more stupid, self-stultifying
(absurdly illogical) specimen of dereliction of principle than this. The teacher (Jesus
and His Holy bible)demands emphatically in every page that the law of the Sabbath
be observed every week by all recognizing it as the only infallible teacher, whilst the
disciples of that teacher have not once, for over three hundred years, observed the
divine precept! That immense concourse of Biblical Christians, the Methodists, have
declared that the Sabbath has never been abrogated (to annul or abolish), whilst
the followers of the Church of England, together with her daughter, the Episcopal
Church of the United States, are committed by the 20th Article of Religion, already
quoted, to the ordinance that the Church cannot lawfully ordain anything contrary
to God's written word. God's written Word enjoins His worship to be observed on
Saturday absolutely, repeatedly, and most emphatically, with a most positive threat
of death to him who disobeys. All the
Biblical sects (Protestant Churches) occupy the same self-stultifying (cause to
appear stupid or foolish) position which no explanation can modify, much less
justify." (The Catholic Mirror, Sept. 23, 1893). (The explanation of word meanings
in parenthesis is supplied).

The first Sunday law ever imposed was that proclaimed by Emperor Constantine,
March 7, A.D. 321: "Let all the judges and town people, and the occupation of all
trades rest on the
venerable day of the sun, but let those who are situated in the country (farmers),
freely and at full liberty, attend to the business of agriculture, because it often
happens that no other
day is so fit for sowing corn and planting vines, lest that critical moment being let
slip, men should lose commodities granted by heaven." (Corpus Juris Civilis Cod.
(Codicanus): lib. 3, tit. 12,3).

There was no doubt that sun worshippers were still very much in existence at the
time of this edict by Emperor Constantine, who was an avid Catholic convert. Note
how he used the term "rest on the venerable day of the sun." Does this resemble
God's Fourth commandment in keeping holy His Seventh day (Saturday) of rest? It
certainly does not. Evidently, Emperor Constantine made the exception for farmers
and the like. Perhaps, he felt that God was not able to bless and make fruitful the
crops if they could not plant them on a Sunday. (PSALM 67: 6 "THEN SHALL THE
EARTH YIELD HER INCREASE: AND GOD, EVEN OUR OWN GOD, SHALL BLESS US."
(EZEKIEL 36: 28-30).

(10) The early Christians kept God's Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday). This is
proven by the fact that the Church council of Laodicia, in the year 364 AD, gave
commandment forbidding the observance of God's Bible Sabbath: "Sabbath change
of, Action of council of Laodicea on (About 364 A.D). Christians shall not Judaize
and be idle on Saturday (Sabbath original), but shall work on that day. If, however,
they are found Judaizing, they shall be cut off from Christ." (A History of the
councils of the Church: from the Original Documents, Rt. Rev. Charles Joseph
Hefele, D.D., bishop of Rottenberg, book 6, sec. 93,
canon 29 (Vol. 11, p. 316).
Edinburg: T. & T. Clark, 1896)

The fact that the early Christian Church was warned against Judaizing is further
proof of the very difficult time the Apostles and Paul had with establishing the
Christian church. As we previously have read what Paul had written concerning the
mixing of Jewish customs and sacrificial ordinances and the pagan customs of the
Gentiles into the church, we can understand why Peter stated: "Paul is sometimes
hard to be understood", (II PETER 3: 15-16). When God sets down commandments,
they are not to be changed or altered by any man, (REVELATION 22: 18-19). The
death of Christ did not abolish or change any of God's Ten Commandments. It did,
however, do away with "the ordinances of Moses" or "the sacrificial ordinances"
dealing explicitly with the sacrificing of animals for the atonement of sin. This
includes the holy days, special feasts, and special sabbath days that were all
involved with sacrificing, (COLOSSIANS 2: 14 and LEVITICUS 23: 4-44). Many of the
early Christian Jews were bringing these old customs (sacrificial ordinances,
circumcision of the flesh, the washing of hands; cups; pots and pans) into the
church. They were trying to enforce all of these obsolete ordinances and traditions
of man upon the Gentile converts and fellow Jews, who knew better. Because of
this, many difficult problems were created for the early church leaders, (MARK 7: 1-
5; LUKE 11: 37-39; ACTS 15: 15-32; HEBREWS 9: 9-10; I CORINTHIANS 7: 18-19).

The preceding quotations from articles written by religionists and laymen, as well,
are only a small portion that have been recorded on this controversial Biblical
doctrine. All recognize the divine authority and solemnity of the Seventh-day
Sabbath over Sunday. Yet, almost all of Christianity rejects and will continue to
reject and be disobedient to God, through the breaking of His Fourth
Commandment.

THE SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH IS ETERNAL

One of the most convincing and convicting Bible texts of God's Seventh-day
Sabbath can be found in the Book of Isaiah. It is a text that shows and proves the
eternal and all-important aspect of God's Fourth Commandment, and God says in:
ISAIAH 66: 22-23 (22) "FOR AS THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH, WHICH I
SHALL MAKE, SHALL REMAIN BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD, SO SHALL YOUR SEED
AND YOUR NAME REMAIN. (23) AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT FROM ONE NEW
MOON TO ANOTHER, AND FROM ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER, SHALL ALL FLESH
COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD."

First let us establish when this command and fulfillment of prophecy will take place
and how long it will last. We find that these scriptures are talking about after the
end of this world when God recreates new heavens and a new earth, where the
Redeemed shall ever be with the Lord throughout eternity. God is telling us here
about the beginning of eternity, and there are other scriptures to prove this point
about re-creating new heavens and earth after Jesus destroys this sinful and
disobedient planet and people. ISAIAH 65; 17 "FOR BEHOLD, I CREATE NEW
HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH: AND THE FORMER SHALL NOT BE REMEMBERED, NOR
COME INTO MIND." The sinful remembrance of this present world and life will be
blotted out forever. The end of this world is made clear in II PETER 3: 7,10,13 (7)
"BUT THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, WHICH ARE NOW, BY THE SAME WORD ARE
KEPT IN STORE, RESERVED UNTO FIRE AGAINST THE DAY OF JUDGMENT AND
PERDITION OF UNGODLY MEN (10) BUT THE DAY OF THE LORD WILL COME AS A
THIEF IN THE NIGHT, IN THE WHICH THE HEAVENS SHALL PASS AWAY WITH A
GREAT NOISE, AND THE ELEMENTS SHALL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT, THE EARTH
ALSO AND THE WORKS THAT ARE THEREIN SHALL BE BURNED UP. (13)
NEVERTHELESS WE ACCORDING TO HIS PROMISE, LOOK FOR NEW HEAVENS AND A
NEW EARTH, WHEREIN DWELLETH RIGHTEOUSNESS." And now, REVELATION 21: 1
"AND I SAW A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH: FOR THE FIRST HEAVEN AND THE
FIRST EARTH WERE PASSED AWAY; AND THERE WAS NO MORE SEA." There is
absolutely no doubt that Isaiah saw and prophesied this same God-given truth, as
Peter and John the Revelator were shown many centuries later.

Then God goes on to say: And it shall come to pass (in the new heavens and earth,
which are eternal), that from one new moon to another (or from one month to
another) "SHALL ALL FLESH COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD." And
we are able to pinpoint time to the exact day by the stars and moon that God
placed in the firmament (or heavens), proving we could not have lost or misplaced
an entire day. GENESIS 1: 14 "AND GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHTS IN THE
FIRMAMENT OF THE HEAVEN TO DIVIDE THE DAY FROM THE NIGHT; AND LET THEM
BE FOR SIGNS, AND FOR SEASONS, AND FOR DAYS, AND YEARS." He states very
emphatically and clearly that "all flesh" (The Redeemed) shall "come to worship
before Him", "FROM ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER, THROUGHOUT ETERNITY."

Our question is this: Why would God command from Adam and Eve, all the way
down to A.D. 336, to keep the Seventh-day Sabbath holy, change it to Sunday until
the end of the world, and then change it back again to the Seventh-day Sabbath
when He creates the new heavens and earth, where we will keep the Sabbath
forever through eternity? This makes no sense at all. Those who have kept the
Sabbath, and those who are keeping (and will continue to keep) God's holy Sabbath
day, will never have to change; neither will they miss a Sabbath, because they will
have kept it faithfully. God's Fourth Commandment proves that He is God and that
He is the Creator of life and all things and there is no other God but Him. He proved
it when He created this world, all life forms (seen and unseen), and His crowning act
of creation: man in his own image. Adam and Eve never had the privilege of seeing
God create all things by the power of His Word, because everything had been
created before they were. However, this will not be so for the saved at the end of
this world, and the thousand years, when God recreates the new heavens and
earth, because they will have the honor and privilege of watching God perform this
awesome display of His wonderful love and power. The Sabbath will live on forever,
because God is in it, and God is the eternal Creator.

BRIEF SUMMATION

There are multitudes who say the Sabbath was, and is, a Jewish day of worship.
This is true; it always was and always will be, but it was not instituted by God for
the Jews only, but for all of His faithful followers. The fact of the matter is, as we
have proven by the Holy bible, the Sabbath day of rest was instituted by God
Himself in the Garden of Eden at the time of creation. This took place long before
the first Jew, who was Abraham. GENESIS 2: 1-3 (1) "THUS THE HEAVENS AND THE
EARTH WERE FINISHED, AND ALL THE HOST OF THEM. (2) AND ON THE SEVENTH
DAY GOD ENDED HIS WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE; AND HE RESTED ON THE
SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE. (3) AND GOD BLESSED
THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE IN IT HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL
HIS WORK WHICH GOD CREATED AND MADE." In fact, Jesus tells us Himself that
"the Sabbath was made for man", not the Jews. He also tells us very plain and clear
that His day (the Lord's day) was, and still is, the Sabbath. In all of holy scripture,
the word Sabbath is never mentioned together with the first day of the week. MARK
2: 27-28 (27) "AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN, AND
NOT MAN FOR THE SABBATH: (28) THEREFORE THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF
THE SABBATH."
The question is: Why would God change any part of a perfect law when Jesus Christ,
Himself, vowed that He could destroy our heavens and earth easier and quicker
than it would be for Him to alter His commandments in any way, even to the
extreme of the dotting of an (i) to a crossing of a (t)? His holy law is perfect; neither
can it fail, and neither are there any flaws or loopholes in it. MATTHEW 5: 17-18
(17) "THINK NOT THAT I AM COME TO DESTROY THE LAW, OR THE PROPHETS: I AM
COME NOT TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFIL (18) FOR VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, TILL
HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS, (and they certainly have not passed as yet), ONE JOT OR
ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED." LUKE
16:17 "AND IT IS EASIER FOR HEAVEN AND EARTH TO PASS, THAN FOR ONE TITTLE
OF THE LAW TO FAIL." Thus, the Ten Commandment Law of God will remain
untouched and unaltered, even until the end of the world.

Jesus has given us the command to follow Him because He had set our example,
and Paul also asks us to follow him because he is following Jesus. MATTHEW 16: 24
"THEN SAID JESUS UNTO HIS DISCIPLES, IF ANY MAN WILL COME AFTER ME LET HIM
DENY HIMSELF, AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS, AND FOLLOW ME:" JOHN 10:27 "MY
SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, (the Holy Bible) AND I KNOW THEM, AND THEY FOLLOW
ME." II THESSALONIANS 3: 7,9 (7) "FOR YOURSELVES KNOW HOW YE OUGHT TO
FOLLOW US: FOR WE BEHAVED NOT OURSELVES DISORDERLY AMONG YOU; (9) NOT
BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT POWER, BUT TO MAKE OURSELVES AN EXAMPLE UNTO YOU
TO FOLLOW US." Then we have to ask the question: On what day did Jesus, Paul,
and all of their disciples (followers) keep holy and worship God? Once again, the
Holy Bible is very plain and clear in answering this question. LUKE 4: 14-16 (14)
"AND JESUS RETURNED IN THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT IN GALILEE: AND THERE WENT
OUT A FAME OF HIM THROUGH ALL THE REGION ROUND ABOUT. (15) AND HE
TAUGHT IN THEIR SYNAGOGUES, BEING GLORIFIED OF ALL. (16) AND HE CAME TO
NAZARETH, WHERE HE HAD BEEN BROUGHT UP: AND AS HIS CUSTOM WAS, HE
WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE ON THE SABBATH DAY, AND STOOD UP FOR TO
READ," MARK 1: 21 "AND THEY WENT INTO CAPERNAUM: AND STRAIGHTWAY ON
THE SABBATH DAY HE ENTERED INTO THE SYNAGOGUE, AND TAUGHT." I JOHN 2: 6
"HE THAT SAITH HE ABIDETH IN HIM (Jesus) OUGHT HIMSELF ALSO TO WALK, EVEN
AS HE (Jesus) WALKED." (Remarks in parenthesis supplied).

And now, long after the death and resurrection of Jesus, Paul also kept the Seventh-
day (Saturday) Sabbath holy. ACTS 17: 2 "AND PAUL, AS HIS MANNER WAS, WENT
IN UNTO THEM, AND THREE SABBATH DAYS (three weeks in a row) REASONED WITH
THEM OUT OF THE SCRIPTURES," ACTS 18: 4,11 (4) "AND HE (Paul) REASONED IN
THE SYNAGOGUE EVERY SABBATH, AND PERSUADED THE JEWS AND GREEKS. (11)
AND HE (Paul) CONTINUED THERE A YEAR AND SIX MONTHS, TEACHING THE WORD
OF GOD AMONG THEM." There certainly can be no mistake about the example that
Jesus, His Apostles, and their disciples had set for all of Christianity to follow. It's a
pity that most refuse to see and accept that Bible fact and truth.

The purpose of God's holy Seventh-day Sabbath was instituted so that His faithful
church would remember Him as their God and wonderful Creator, to remember how
He created all things in love for us to enjoy, until men chose sin over righteousness
and holiness. But the Sabbath is to be "a sign" of God's creation between Him and
His faithful followers forever. EXODUS 31: 13, 16-17 (13) "SPEAK THOU ALSO
UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, SAYING, VERILY (truly) MY SABBATHS YE SHALL
KEEP: FOR IT IS A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR GENERATIONS;
THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THAT DOTH SANCTIFY YOU. (16)
WHEREFORE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SHALL KEEP THE SABBATH, TO OBSERVE
THE SABBATH THROUGHOUT THEIR GENERATIONS, FOR A PERPETUAL COVENANT.
(An everlasting covenant or agreement) (17) IT IS A SIGN BETWEEN ME AND THE
CHILDREN OF ISRAEL FOR EVER: FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND
EARTH, AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY HE RESTED, AND WAS REFRESHED." The Lord
made heaven and earth
not just for Jews, but for His faithful followers (Spiritual Israel) and all of humanity.

However, once again, it is very sad to say that many Christians make the statement
that "they are not a part of the children of Israel in any way", but the truth of the
matter is: We most certainly are, as holy scripture proves out. The eternal promises
of everlasting life were made to Abraham and his seed, his son Isaac, and his son
Jacob. Scripture verifies that God changed Jacob's name to Israel, (GEN. 35: 10).
Through this same lineage, out of the tribe of Judah (one of Jacob's sons) and
through the descent of King David, Jesus Christ the Messiah would come. If, in fact,
we do not become spiritual Israelites, then neither will we receive the heritage and
promises of God. The apostle Paul made that very clear when he instructed the
church converts. He said: "The Gentiles (of whom we are, or were) have been
grafted into the spiritual "olive tree", which is the church of Israel. GALATIANS 3: 7-
9, 16, 26-29 (7) "KNOW YE THEREFORE THAT THEY WHICH ARE OF FAITH, THE
SAME ARE THE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM. (8) (the scripture foreseeing that God
would justify the heathen, or Gentiles) THROUGH FAITH, PREACHED BEFORE THE
GOSPEL UNTO ABRAHAM, (Abraham heard the gospel of Christ) SAYING, IN THEE
(Abraham) SHALL ALL
NATIONS BE BLESSED. (9) SO THEN THEY WHICH BE OF FAITH AND BLESSED WITH
FAITHFUL ABRAHAM. (16) NOW TO ABRAHAM AND HIS SEED WERE THE PROMISES
MADE. HE SAITH NOT, AND NOT TO SEEDS, AS OF MANY: BUT AS OF ONE, AND TO
THY SEED, WHICH IS CHRIST." Therefore, if Abraham is saved by Christ and has the
promises of the seed (which is Christ), then so do we, and so does everyone else
who accepts the promises of God. Christ and the "seed" is His holy written Word, as
the Bible tells us so plain here in LUKE 8: 11 "NOW THE PARABLE IS THIS: THE SEED
IS THE WORD OF GOD." (I PETER 1: 23).

It was through Abraham's son Isaac that the promises were given and passed down
through Jacob (Israel), whose twelve sons were called "the children of Israel", and all
who enjoined with them. (26) "FOR YE ARE ALL THE CHILDREN OF GOD BY FAITH IN
CHRIST JESUS." God calls all of His children the children of Israel. (27) "FOR AS
MANY OF YOU AS HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST HAVE PUT ON CHRIST. (28)
THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, THERE IS NEITHER BOND NOR FREE, FOR
THERE IS NEITHER MALE NOR FEMALE: FOR YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS." Just
as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel) are all one in Christ Jesus, so are we. (29)
"AND IF YE BE CHRIST'S, THEN ARE YE ABRAHAM'S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING
TO THE PROMISE." (ROMANS 8: 14-17).

How do we become spiritual Israelites? By being born again of water and of the
Spirit through Baptism and through the blood of Jesus Christ, (JOHN 3: 3, 5-6 and
ROMANS 6: 3-6). EPHESIANS 2: 11-13 (11) "WHEREFORE REMEMBER, THAT YE
BEING IN TIME PAST GENTILES IN THE FLESH, WHO ARE CALLED UNCIRCUMCISION
BY THAT WHICH IS CALLED THE CIRCUMCISION IN THE FLESH MADE BY HANDS; (12)
THAT AT THAT TIME YE WERE MADE WITHOUT CHRIST, BEING ALIENS FROM THE
COMMONWEALTH OF ISRAEL, AND STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF
PROMISE, HAVING NO HOPE, AND WITHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD: (13) BUT NOW IN
CHRIST JESUS YE WHO SOMETIMES WERE FAR OFF ARE MADE NIGH (near) BY THE
BLOOD OF CHRIST." Jesus Christ was a true Israelite, and his purpose is to bring
people into His church, (the church of Israel). God is telling us here that the
Gentiles (those who are not living their lives in accordance with God's will) are
"aliens" (those who are alienated from God) and from the "COMMONWEALTH OF
ISRAEL" and are STRANGERS, but through baptism (accepting the death, burial and
resurrection of Jesus Christ) and the "shed blood of Jesus Christ"', you are grafted
into the commonwealth (church and fellowship) of Israel and are a part of the
promises. Now we have hope in and through Jesus Christ.

There are also many Christians who claim that "it doesn't really matter what day we
keep because it just isn't that important." Perhaps to them it doesn't matter, but
according to
Holy Scripture, it most emphatically does matter to God. We must conform to the
commands and will of God, for God does not conform His written Word to our will
and beliefs. To prove this point, perhaps these same people would have taken the
same attitude in the Garden of Eden. When God told Adam and Eve that they could
eat of all the trees in the Garden, he commanded them not to touch the tree in the
midst of the Garden (the tree of knowledge of good and evil). They were not to
touch it (much less eat of it), because it belonged to God, just as the Seventh day of
rest belongs to God. Was that specific tree not only important to God, and to Adam
and Eve, but also to all of humanity that was to follow? It certainly was. Through
man's disobedience to it, the sentence of death came upon all of humanity, as God
said, "the day ye touch it, ye shall surely die", (GENESIS 2: 16-17 and GENESIS 3: 1-
24).

Did God keep His word? And did Adam and Eve and all their descendants die? Most
emphatically, yes! It was very, very important to Him and to all of His creation.
When God says something, He means what he says. Sad to say, but there will
always be those who will compromise and minimize God's holy written Word and
commands. Just as God said through Peter in II PETER 3: 16, "....WHICH THEY THAT
ARE UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE WREST, (twist and bend) AS THEY DO ALSO THE
OTHER SCRIPTURES, UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION." Peter is saying here in this
text that the epistles (letters) of Paul are sometimes hard to understand. But the
unlearned (those who refuse to see and accept God's truths through self-
interpretation of the scriptures) are unstable. They wrest (wrestle and twist the
scriptures) to say what THEY WANT TO BELIEVE or NOT BELIEVE or, perhaps, to fit in
with their convenient life style. They do it to their own destruction, because it is
unacceptable to God. Just as it was for Adam and Eve when they broke God's
commandment by touching the fruit of the tree that was in the midst of the Garden.
The "destruction" that God is speaking of here is the sentence of death in hell's fire
at the final judgment. The truth of the matter is, those who are saved when Jesus
Christ comes at the end of the world are going to celebrate and worship God on His
holy Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath in the new heavens and earth that God is
going to recreate for us throughout eternity. ISAIAH 66: 22-23 (22) "FOR AS THE
NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH, WHICH I WILL MAKE, SHALL REMAIN BEFORE
ME, SAITH THE LORD, SO SHALL YOUR SEED AND YOUR NAME REMAIN.. (23) AND IT
SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER, AND FROM ONE
SABBATH TO ANOTHER, SHALL ALL FLESH COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, SAITH
THE LORD." God did not, will not, and can not change or alter any of His
commandments, and that includes the Fourth, because they are perfect. PSALM 19:
7 "THE LAW OF THE LORD IS PERFECT, CONVERTING THE SOUL: THE TESTIMONY
OF THE LORD IS SURE, MAKING WISE THE SIMPLE."

There have been several Biblical subjects that were spoken of more than once in
this book. God repeated many things over and over again throughout His scriptures
in order to impress upon our minds the vital importance of these scriptures. God
refers to us as His children, and we know that there are times, as children of God,
we need to hear certain things many times over before we finally understand and
take heed to them.

It is our fervent prayer in Christ that you have allowed God's wonderful Holy Spirit to
come into your heart and give you the ability not only to see and understand clearly
God's message on this vital subject, but also to accept it and rejoice in His
wonderful Seventh-day Sabbath of rest and worship. We thank you sincerely with
all our heart and prayers for your taking the time to read what God has to say about
His holy worship day, versus what man has to say. If we can be of any further help,
please feel free to contact us.
