KOSOVO SPORT INSTITUTE

Although independent for more than 9 years, Kosovo still faces serious political, economic,
social and cultural problems. These problems have affected sports development not only in it
professional development and international recognition, but also in participation of youth in
sports activities and in achieving the standards of operation within the international required
standards. Despite, efforts by government there is lot to be done.

Moreover, the government efforts were mostly directed in the political battle for official
recognition of Kosovo in international sports organization, creating a gap in the sports domestic
development issues, such as achieving the operation standards based in the standards of the
modern world, infrastructure issues, sports management, promotion of youth participation in
sports; especially engagement in sports of youth marginal groups, and alike. Hence, our
institutions main goal is to identify drawbacks and opportunities of Kosovo regarding above
mentioned issues. Following the identification, our goal is to address this issues in domestic and
international level.

Exchanging the experience and obtaining the expertise from international sports organization
such are Institutes, NGO-s and Governmental Organizations, is a priority of our activities.

In a nutshell, guided by ethical principles and professional expertise, the Kosovo Sport Institute
vision is to become a leading institute in promoting sport and creating bridges between sport
and education in Kosovo.

Some of our key tasks are as follows:

- Identifying the opportunities, advantages and drawbacks of sports

- Developing effective services and support to our stakeholders

- Generating reversible positive interaction between sports and education

- Promoting the Kosovos sports internationally
