The Back Ground of
Study:
This journal telling about the
multi cultures in Medan. This
journal telling that the differences
of cultures show the different
words. It means that the identity
of expressions from a person can
be seen by the word which used
by the person. It can be sad,
happy, or angry (Silzier :1990).
According to Lakkof and Johnson
(1980) Culture is encoded not
only in the semantic structure of
language, but also in its idiomatic
expressions idiomatic of
language, but also idiomatic
expressions that both reflects and
direct the way we think. It means
that languages meaning related to
the culture, social, and individual,
and it can be related to the symbol
and metaphor.
