-(Slide 2 ) PROJECT BACKGROUND

One of the main targets of Macatbong Elementary School during the School Year 2016-2017 is to
increase the pupils performance in Mathematics. This objective is based on the MPS result submitted
during the preceding year that the pupils performance in Mathematics was low. It was found out that
there is a need to address the problems on numeracy level.

To attain this target the School Head together with the Mathematics Teachers have launch the project
MAGBILANG KITA which aims to intensify the numeracy skills of Grades IV,V and VI pupils in the four
fundamental operations in order to prepare them to the next higher level of skills in Mathematics.
Pupils mastery in the four fundamental operations will be enhanced through constant practice with the
use of window cards.

Macatbong Elementary School teachers believe that having this project MAGBILANG KITA will intensify
the numeracy skills of the pupils.
