>By Air: Air is more economical, if you have smaller

shipment and it is faster and easier.
*All Airlines charge either on Weight Or Volume, based on
the dimensions.
They use 166 per cubic inch density factor.
To calculate Cubic Inches take L X W X H in Inches.
Divide cubic Inches by 166, to get the volume weight.
This will be the minimum weight in pound for that
Particular box.

>By Sea
By Ocean you have 2 Options -

1. Ship as LCL (Less than a container load - consolidated

with other shipments)
2. Ship as FCL (Full container load, Exclusive for one
Shipper only)
Under LCL service:
-You have an option of either dropping @ our closest
warehouse to your location
-We can arrange for pick-up depending upon the Pick-up
location
-Pick-up charges are normally based on weight unless volume
weight is greater than the actual weight
-Ocean Freight is based on volume only
-Its only provided up to Base port unless specified

Recommended size of boxes are:

18x18x16": 3 cubic feet
18x18x24": 4.5 cubic feet
24x18x24": 6 cubic feet

1. The way we calculate the chargeable volume/weight is-

eg if we you have 1 Crate, which the dimensions are 48" in
Length x 40" in width & 36" in height.

We will calculate the cubic feet (Cft) for which we need to

multiply 3 dims & divide the result with 1728.

With above dims the calculations will be as follow: 48"x

40"x 36" = 69120/1728 = 40 CFT

Under FCL service:

There are 3 sizes of containers available, a 20' & a 40'ST &

a 40HC container, their Details as follows

Size Length Width Height Max Pay Load Load

Capacity
20 19 7.5 7.5 37,000 Lbs 1000 CFT
40 38 7.5 7.5 44,000 Lbs 2200 CFT
40HC 38 7.5 8.29 44,000 Lbs 2500 CFT

Requirement from your end:

10 boxes, you should mark each box as 1 of 10, 2 of
10....

2. Packing list, which should be identical with the box

number stating the contents inside the box. For insurance
purpose we would need a breakdown of price for each box & if

What do you get from Shipping Company?

Bill of Lading (BL or B/L). This document holds all the
details about your shipment viz. the Consignee (should be
same as shipper on Personal Goods and make sure it matches
your Passport Name) the number of packages, the
weight/volume of the packages, the carrier details - ship
name, vessel No., etc., the date the goods left the port of
departure, the receiver's contact information, the receiving
agent's details, etc. This is a very important document and
is required for making any inquiries or claims for your
shipment. Under ideal conditions, we would send this
document to you within about 10 days of the shipment
departing from the port of departure by attached email
document.

Documents Required for Clearance:

Bill of Lading
Get about 4-6 copies of all the pages of the passport
of the person who is going to be claiming a TR
If you haven't done so yet, based on your detailed
packing list, prepare a summarized packing list,
listing the major items/categories of items (such as
Kitchenware, Toiletries, etc) in each box in your
shipment. The summary list is useful for many reasons -
for easier handling and overall processing. Keep about
4 copies of the summarized list available, and 2 copies
of the detailed list available with you. (Tip: When
you go to collect your goods, leave one copy of the
above safely at home - just in case!)

What to do next when I reach to India

When you arrive in India and start settling back, it is
recommended to follow-up with our agent given on your B/L
about the arrival of your goods. Once you have an estimated
arrival date, start the follow-up process about 2-4 weeks in
advance and discuss with them in detail about Local
Formalities.
