WATER INJECTION CASE HISTORY

PROJECT DETAILS

The main purpose for BJ providing the temporary injection package was due to
the delays the client was experiencing during the construction of their permanent
injection facility. This delay was causing problems with production and the
decision was made to install a temporary injection package.

BJ Services were initially contracted to supply a stand-alone water injection


package capable of injecting water into three wells simultaneously via an
injection pipeline loop with water supplied from an aquifer feed well.

The initial injection parameters were, 40,000 bbl / day @ 1,500 psi for a period of
six (6) months. The contract also included the supply of all injection chemicals,
these were provided by BJ Chemical Services, Houston.

Prior to commencing injection, the pipeline loop had to cleaned to remove all
rust, scale and debris.

Following the initial injection phase the client installed flow lines to two additional
injection wells. As these lines could not be cleaned online, BJ were ask to
provide additional high pressure filtration skids to remove any debris, rust and
scale from the new injection pipe-work.

The injection parameters were then changed to approximately 50,000 bbl / day at
2,000 psi. Maximum injection rate achieved during operations was 56,000 bbl /
day at 2,000 psi

After the initial six months, the client requested an extension to the contract as
further delays in the completion of their permanent facilities had been confirmed.

BJ continued the injection operations for a total period of eighteen months until
the clients permanent facilities had been commissioned.

The success of this temporary injection package provided by BJ Services was


evident in the revenues the client earned through the ability to attain early
production and also provide immediate pressure management to the producing
reservoir.
