Projects Undertaken in M.Tech

M.Tech Thesis
An Effective Three Step Search motion estimation algorithm for video coding (May
2009 to July 10, 2010)
In the region where the best matching points exist, the small square template which is used in the new
three-step search algorithm is replaced by a small diamond template which improves the search
accuracy. After comparing with the full search method, new three step search method, four step search
method and diamond search method, the experimental results show that the effective three step search
method algorithm improves peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and finds the motion vector with fewer
search points thus reducing the calculation time. Programming language is MATLAB for this project

1. Tele Voting System (Aug 2008 to Nov 2008)

This project is on Telephone voting system, we can vote directly from our mobile by entering password
and selecting number corresponding to the particular party. Telephone cable will be connected to the
microcontroller kit. Programming language used is Keil C.

2. Spectrum allocation for 3G in India(Aug 2008 to Nov 2008)

This project describes the available spectrum bands to be allocated in India for 3G and
concludes whether the recent decision of the government to allocate 2x5 MHz is sufficient to offer
3G services or not , For that purpose we have compared the data rates of 3G services having
2x5 MHz bandwidth with blocks of 10 MHz and 15 MHz

3. NGN in supply chain management(Jan 2009 to April 2009)

This project provides insight in to a business analysis of NGN by doing SWOT analysis, PEST
analysis, NGN service value chain, value proposition framework and porters five force model of NGN.
This project also focuses on how NGN can be used in one of the business application supply chain
management.

Implementation of Zigbee network using microcontroller AT89S52(Dec 2007 to
April 2008)
The project aim is to establish wireless (Zigbee) network between a microcontroller based system and
two PC’s through a wireless access point, to demonstrate embedded wireless networking and
controlling of external devices connected to microcontroller through PC which communicate with the
microcontroller system over Zigbee network. Programming language is Keil C
