JAIBHARAT Condemns Harassements, Threats & Attacks on

Kancha Iilayya !
Condemns demand to ban writings of Ilayya!
Iilayya must be provided with Security!
Attacks on Freedom of expression must be Averted!

Recently, some people belonging to Aryavysya caste organisations are agitating against a
book named Kommatollu Samajikasmaglarlu written by Kancha Ilayya, a social analyst &
writer. Also it seems that some more upper caste organisations are also joining in this dispute.
There are demands to ban this book, harassments & also threats of the attacks on Ilayya!
JAIBHARAT seriously condemns the threats & harassments on Ilayya, made by these
caste organisations & their staunch men. JAIBHARAT demands the Government to provide
proper security to Ilayya!
JAIBHARAT feels that the agitation organised by these caste organisations is against to
the freedom of expression guaranteed by the constitution!
It is true that there are criticisms on the writings of Ilayya, that they contain certain
imbalanced, immaterial & hate arguments! But still those arguments should be countered only
through discussions & proposals of counterarguments, not by any other means.
Introducing caste hatred from the bottom instead of top will not do any harm to the caste
system! The fight for the removal of caste inequalities, must run in the direction of caste annihi-
lation, but not in the direction of intensifying the caste hatred! JAIBHARAT feels that the
writings with imbalanced, hate provoking & immaterial arguments will divert & harm the fight
for & caste annihilation! This type of writings will ultimately strengthen the caste system. The
fight built on the basis of hatred will ultimately perpetuate the caste system. This is not the path
shown by the great souls like Narayana Guru, Ambedkar, Gandhi & Bhagya Reddy Varma.
Who ever feels that there are certain imbalanced, immaterial & hateful elements in the
writings of Ilayya or some other, can place their arguments, objections & criticisms to discus-
sion. (For example, VIJAYA VIHAARAM magazine has printed the criticisms of GS Rammohan
