Presentation is the Killer Skill we take into the real world. Its almost an
unfair advantage.
Presenting a course is not merely delivering the message through reading the
material you developed to the audience. Often, the audience read their self
rather than to hear what the presenter saying about. When this situation occurs,
often you, as the presenter, will become a dead-stick in front of them. As a
result, they will left you talking by your self because it is too boring for the
audience to follow your course. This week, we will discuss about how to make a
lively presentation and make you to be a better presenter. At the end of this
course, you will need to demonstrate the learnt abilities through the make of a
video you need to submit.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, you are expected to be able to:
In Planning the AVA, you should know well who are your target audience? Why
you talk about the topic to them? How long should you deliver the message?
What is the story behind the topic? These considerations are necessary to
understand and let you know how the course is going to be delivered. You may
prepare the plan of the aforementioned elements in sketch slides, notes, or
computers. This following reading material will give you some insights in

While you are performing your presentation there are five rules to follow. First, it
is strongly suggested that manage your pronounciation to be clearly heard. This
can be achieved if you are sure with your tone, volume, and manageable speed.
Yet, there is no need to rush your talk. The next thing to ponder is to ensure
using simple present sentences. This is important since the main concern of any
presentation is to ensure that the audience is easy to follow your course.
However, you are still OK to use past tense despite present sentences are more
favorable in a speech. Third, jargons and abreviations are avoided. None of
audience wants to hear complicated words. Not only does this ensure the
audiences to follow your presentation, but also engage them with you.
Remember that your audience wants to hear your expert in, but not the
complicated words. The fourth is that you need to use various speed, pitch,
tone, and the use of pausing. Yes, you need to stop a little at some points
before continuing your speech. This will give you times to review whether the
audience are with you or being in other space of mind that is not really connect
with you. The last but not least, you need to learn your best gestures and not to
overdo it. Rather than to mannerism, you need to be relax and enthusiastic all
the times to engage with the audience.
