London trip sketch
Warm up
Ask the children to make a list of attractions they can see in
London. Invite the children to answer and write the places on
the board.
Try to elicit places mentioned on the DVD such as London
Eye, Tower of London, shops, Regents Park and London
Zoo.
Watch and play London bingo.
Ask the children to choose and write six places in their
notebooks from the board.
Explain that they are going to watch the DVD and tick the
London places they see. If they get six ticks they should say
Bingo!
Say Lets watch the DVD and play London bingo. Play
the DVD. Children watch and tick. When a child says Bingo!
Pause the DVD to praise them, then play the DVD again to
the end.
When the sketch has finished, ask Why dont they go to
London? Where do they go?

Hold up the worksheet. Ask the children to number the
places in the order they are mentioned.
Play the DVD. Pause the DVD whenever the characters
say where they are going, to give the children time to
number.

The children write five sentences in secret about their day, for

In pairs or groups, the children play the Time game. Student
A says one of his/her sentences, for example, I go to school.
Student B has to guess the time, and say it. Then Student B
says a sentence, and Student A guesses the time.
DVD Project
Heres an idea for an extra activity. The children can
create a poster day trip for their capital city.
First ask the children What can you see in (Madrid)? Write
the words on the board. Divide the children into groups,
and distribute card for their poster to each group.
The children should create a poster plan to include:
six places, including a place for lunch
visuals of the places
a time for each place
a line to show the plan.
When the children have finished, invite them to present
their plan to the class.

Warm up
Hold up eight fingers then mime eating. Invite the children to
respond You eat at 8 oclock.
Invite different children to the front to mime. Continue until
the children are confident with the activities and time.
Watch and answer.

Play the DVD. Children watch and answer the question.

Ask the children questions to show what they know, such as

Finally they write the information on their worksheet, or
complete it for homework.
