This job involves you to be responsible for the quality of the animation. But the
role of Animation Director may only exist on larger projects and is often
combined with the Director role on smaller productions.
What is needed from them? They interpret the brief from the Director and
other relevant departments. They then guide, supervise and review the work
produced by the Animators and Assistant Animators.
This job does not allow every level entry. So you need the qualifications to be
allowed in.
To become an Animation Director you will usually need to be an established
and experienced Animator. You will also need to demonstrate leadership,
management skills.
Job 2- Animator (2D computer animation)

In principle, the role of Animator is the same for all techniques of animation;
the differences are in the tools used and in some of the skills required. Most
professional 2D computer animation work in the UK is produced on one of two
packages, either Flash or CelAction.
What do you need to do? You will produce images which, when recorded in
sequence and projected, create the illusion of movement. In character
animation, they may be cast, like actors, for their special talents - comedy,
dialogue, song and dance, action, men, women, children, animals, simplicity,
etc. On other projects, they may be selected for their particular technical skills
and ability.
In principle, the role of Animator is the same for all techniques of animation.
The differences are in the tools used, and in some of the skills required.
What qualifications do you need? To do this job you will need gain a degree in
computer animation, computer science or similar, or in an art-related subject,
(optional but it will help).
