General Data Tab

The first step in preparing a compressor performance run is entering your basic application data. This
includes items such as the customer and project names, location, elevation, base units, application, etc.
The project name will appear at the top of the Adjusted and MultiRun graphs.

Run Identification

Information entered into this section is reported on the top of the compressor performance run print out,
and will help to identify the run/application.

The Application drop down menu will be used to identify the application the compressor will service. The
application types are being used to preselect important valve data, such as if low lift valves are required.

The Installation Country is an important entry as it can impact valve selection on pipeline cylinders and
can impact pricing multiplier. Countries on the US Trade Sanctioned Countries list are marked such that
units cannot be sold into these countries.

The Process Application will identify the unit as a Process and Refinery installation. This will limit the
compressor frames and cylinders to only those specifically designated for this service. Compressor speeds
will be limited, discharge pressures and temperatures will be limited and certain equipment options will
become required options. Please refer to the Applications Manual for more specific details on Process

compressors.

Units

The units menu can be accessed directly from the "General Data Tab", through a pop-up box by selecting
"Change Units" on the "View" drop down menu, or by pressing the F6 key. Note that the F6 key access
will work anywhere in the performance program, including when viewing performance output files. If the
units are changed while viewing output files, the files will automatically update to show the selected units.

Gauge/Absolute

Compressor performance runs can be done using gauge or absolute pressure. The performance program
calculations are always run in absolute pressure and are converted into gauge pressure, if selected, for the
display and print out.

English/Metric

You can select to perform your compressor runs in either English or Metric pressure units. See below for
more information. English or Metric flow units can be used as needed.

Pressure - Select units by using drop down menus.

English - the available unit for English pressure is: psi.

Metric - the available units for Metric pressure are: bar, kPa, MPa, kg/cm2.

Capacity - select units by using drop down menus.

English/Metric - The available units for capacity are: MMSCFD, SCFM, lb/h, Nm3/h, Sm3/h, E3m3/D,
kg/h.

Force - select units by using drop down menus. Force can be shown in units of force (English or Metric
force) or percent of rated rod load.

Base Pressure and Temperature

Base pressure/temperature

Checkbox - if the box is checked, the program will use the standard 14.7 psia and 60F (or equivalent
metric units) as its base units for running the compressor sizing calculations. If the check is removed, the
user can enter their own values for "base" conditions.

Ambient Temperature - enter the maximum jobsite seasonal temperature here.

Elevation - enter the jobsite elevation here. It is used to calculate the site barometric pressure.

Barometric Pressure - calculated by the program using the jobsite elevation. The barometric pressure is
used in many of the basic compressor calculations.

Notes

The notes box is used to keep information on a particular application. The information in this box can be
printed with the "print" button. This information will not print out on the performance run or quote.
