Security
The security section of the program is for users who need to use the advanced features of Ariel 7.X such
as Order Entry, New Products, Torsional, etc. In order to use these features, permission must be given
by Ariel Corporation in the form of a security key for a specific installation of the Ariel program. Note
that security keys are only valid on the computer that generated the Access code sent to Ariel with the
request for security rights. Because of this, user level rights issued by an administrator are only valid on
network installs of the Ariel 7.X program. Please contact Ariel for more information on security rights.

Setup Access Key

When requesting a security key, you must supply the Access Code generated by Ariel 7.X (shown blank
above) in the "Setup Key" window. When you receive your security code, it is entered into this screen
to activate the requested advanced features.

Network Based Software:

The User Setup, Login and Logoff functions are primarily used for network based operation where
several users will use a single network based executable. Different users can have different access
rights. These functions are not to be used for PC based software with individual users.

Security Setup

The security setup screen is used to set up users and user level access to the Ariel 7.X program. The
first user setup is the administrator by default, this user assigns rights to other users. To set up the first
user, a request must be sent to Ariel via email for a security key. This is done by selecting "Setup
Access Key" to generate the unique Access code for your Ariel 7.X installation. Next, select "Email
Code" to send an email to Ariel with the included Access Code. Once the request is approved, a return
email will be generated with the appropriate security key granting access to the requested advanced
sections of the program. This key must be entered into the "Setup Access Key" screen and then
accepted for the first (administrator) user to be set-up. Once the administrator is set-up, other network
users can be added at various user levels by allowing access to any of the sections to which the
administrator has rights. Note that a security key can also be obtained from Ariel via telephone through
Ariel's Engineering Technical Solutions (ETS) group or the Manager of Applications Engineering.
Please see below for examples of the various security access screens and menus.

Login - generate a basic user/password screen to login to the Ariel Program for access to any of the
advanced features.

Logoff - logoff the current user and reset the program access level to default (performance only).

Setup Users - setup user access to the advanced features of the Ariel 7.X program. Please see the
"Security Setup" section for more information.
