I have been following Lockheed Martins involvement with NASAs space exploration
missions for many years. The opportunity to work for this cutting edge company with a
team of highly skilled and knowledgeable engineers and scientists designing and
developing systems for space travel and exploration is my life goal. I am very interested
in your summer internship program working on the Orion Program. I am passionate
about designing, testing, and fabricating the future equipment for Mars and space
exploration. Lockheed Martin caught my attention as a young student when I started to
learn about Mars landers. After learning about this position through a job search on the
Lockheed Martin website, I know I can significantly contribute to this team and project
while also enhancing my engineering skills through this opportunity.
It is clear that Lockheed Martin will rely on a Mechanical Engineer that has 3D modeling
experience, passionate about space exploration, and excellent communication skills. I
am confident I possess the required skills to contribute towards the Orion program. I
have recently been part of a team that designed and fabricated a drone. The entire
drone was modeled using CAD software. During the construction many procedure tests
were performed to ensure the mechanical system operated correctly. This included
structural examination of materials, design intent analysis, and analysis of possible
interfering parts. The team also performed equipment tests to learn how fabrication
techniques can be used to optimize the construction process.
I am excited about the prospect of joining Lockheed Martin and contributing to your
effectiveness in space exploration. I welcome further discussion about my qualifications
and am available for interviewing at your convenience. Please feel free to contact me
