Week Two:
1. Warm Ups
2. Facial expressions
a. As actors we need to understand how our faces move and show emotion to tell the
story
b. Have them go to the mirrors and shout out random emotions/faces to have them make.
Ask them to do these faces:
i. Over the top
ii. Tiny (subtle)
iii. Transition from one to the other fast
iv. Transition from one to the other slow
c. Have them pair off or group up and do the same and ask them to observe the others
3. Review the combination you taught them the week prior, and have them do it as a large group
with different expressions, how did the different facials change the movement/story?
4. Have them split in groups and watch each other
Week Three:
1. Warm Ups
2. Introduce Musical
a. Talk to them a little bit about the story what happens and who the characters are:
i. Charlie
ii. Charlies Mom
iii. Grandpa Joe
iv. Agustus Gloop/His Mom
v. Veruca Salt/Her Dad
vi. Violet Beaureguard/Her Dad
vii. Mike Teevee/His Mom
viii. Willy Wonka
ix. TV. Announcer/his assistant Cherry
x. Oompa Loompas
xi. TV Reporters
b. Play Act One of the show and have them listen to it. Have them identify the different
styles of music if you feel the need
3. Split the groups in 4, one for each of the bad kids (Agustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike) and have
each listen to their characters songs and come up with creative movement for each Show the
groups
Week Four:
1. Warm Ups
2. Learn from each other exercises:
a. Go over some basic dance steps everyone should know (jazz square, pivots, ect.)
b. Split the group in 4.
c. Play the class a song that in their own group they have to come up with 2 8 counts.
d. After each group has 2 8 counts, combine two groups together and have them teach
each other their combinations so they have created 4 8 counts.
e. Finally, bring the whole group together and combine the 8counts to have one large
piece the class choreographed themselves.
