TMCI PADOVAN SPA presents

DYNAMOS to the wine industry:
the first rotating dynamic cross
flow filter with innovative
back-pulse system, covered by
intercontinental patent.
DYNAMOS

Energy Saving High Solids Dynamic Crossflow Filtration:

from lees to the bottle !
Filter-aid free alternate to the vacuum, press-filters and conventional crossflow filters
for juice and wines lees, as well as for all liquids with high solids content
Principle used is the Dynamic Crossflow Filtration applied to rotating disks. This
avoids plugging and allows for a self cleaning process; disks are open and fully
inspectable
Innovative Back-Pulse
All tests and installations proved a high quality filtrate level: solids-free juice and
wine lees can be bottled directly as a traditional cross-flow filtration
No Red Colour reduction (Abs at 520nm)
Solids concentration up to 65%v/v
No oxygen pick-up (with limited nitrogen sparging)
Low energy requirement process
High nominal flowrates (20-25 l/m2h)
Long filtration cycles (up to 10 hours without stopping)

DYNAMOS ADVANTAGES

Dynamic Cross-Flow-Filtration provides the maximum filter efficiency

In this process rotating discs generate a turbulent differential speed of the feed. This
effectively prevents the development of plugging layers which obstruct filtration
Extremely high cross flow velocity (high efficient cleaning of the filter surface)
In rotating filters, the shear stress and flow rate are unlinked because the shear stress is
a function of the rotating filter disk speed
Very low energy consumption (compared to conventional cross flow techniques)
Strong cross flow effect
Uniform feed pressure in the membrane
Very low transmembrane pressure,
Controlled cake layer
Minimized formation of secondary separating layers
Self-cleaning effect on the membranes
Compact modular design
Calibrated Back- Pulse
DYNAMOS FLOWSHEET

The membrane discs are mounted in one or two hollow shafts. The permeate
penetrates through the ceramic disc and is collected and discharged inside the shaft/s.
Ceramic disc rotation generates high relative velocities towards the medium to be
filtered. The particularly high turbulence in the overlapping areas minimise cake
formation on the membranes. In addition the centrifugal force acts on cake layers and
removes them outwards continuously.

In double shaft filters, the rotating stacks

overlap and maximize the cleaning effect
on the discs.

In single shafts filters, the rotating stack is

provided with a static comb to maximize
the flowrate.

DYNAMOS HIGHLIGHTS

Cross flow velocity, flow rate and pressure are independent

Cross flow velocity is at least 2-4 times higher than the speed of a tubular cross
flow system.
Installed power is reduced by 80% in relation to the traditional tubular cross flow
systems
Higher solids concentration levels, up to 65% v/v
Significantly higher performance in relation to a tubular cross flow filter.
The selectivity is defined by the membrane itself and not by the fouling layer
Flow rate is kept even with very low product recirculation
