NOTICE OF VACANCY
The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, mandated to implement and supervise the
governments comprehensive peace process, is looking for additional staff who will work for a just and
lasting peace.

HIRING UNIT: PEACE POLICY UNIT

The Peace Policy Unit has four complementary and interdependent functional areas of work:

Policy development and advocacy promotes the consistency of peacebuilding policies and programs
of the government and non-government organizations with peace process agenda, framework and
priorities adopting a CSPP approach.

Learning and knowledge management ensures that systems and processes are in place so that
policies and programs are not only informed by national level policy issuances but also ground level
experience.

Planning, monitoring and evaluation ensures that the alignment of all unit plans to the OPAPP
targets (GAA, PDP) and monitoring of units work and financial plans.

Compliance reporting ensures OPAPPs timely submission of high quality reportorial requirements
and commitments.

1. Assists the Director IV in the management of the unit and


represents the unit in the absence of the Director IV;
2. Provide technical assistance in the development of results
and indicators framework for peace tables and programs;
3. Conduct regular mapping and assessment of information
needs of program units and other stakeholders in terms of
planning and policy / decision-making;
4. Help design and manage evaluation processes of peace
tables and programs;
Duties and Responsibilities 5. Conduct regular scanning for relevant analyses and studies
by other groups and flag possible programming/ policy
implications to the peace process;
6. Design, facilitate and conduct small-scale/ short-term
thematic studies to support program evaluation and learning
agenda of peace tables and programs;
7. Lead learning processes to feedback M&E results to program
enhancement and policy-making; and;
8. Perform tasks or functions that may be assigned by the
Director IV.

2. Coordinate with program unit in the establishment and
strengthening of institutionalize arrangements and work plans
for the operationalization of Feedback and Response
Systems (FRS);
3. Facilitate regular review and validation process towards
effective and efficient operationalization of Citizens Led
Monitoring (CLM)
Duties and Responsibilities 4. Monitor effective and efficient management feedback and
responses through continuous collaboration with program
units and other key stakeholders;
5. Coordinate with partners in alert and tracking mechanism of
FRS through generating reports on findings, learning, and
recommendations from the FRS and CLM;
6. Coordinate with partners in generating reports on findings,
learning and recommendations from CLM and FRS and
facilitating action and response arising from these reports to
aid program management; and,
7. Perform tasks or functions that may be assigned by the
Director for Peace Policy.

processing of data resulting from these sessions for use in
policy, program and knowledge product development;
