Membership Basics
Locating Your Benefits Packet.
You are currently reviewing the BGA member

Digital Library link in your profile after logging in
to scaa.org. If youre unable to view your profile
details, please contact us to let us know.
Registering For Events And Classes.
Each login is associated with one person. The
person attending an event needs to log in prior
to registering. An email confirmation will be sent
to the person who is attending the event or
class.
Updating Information.
Each Barista Guild of America member is an
individual member. This person can access their
membership profile to manage the account,
renew the membership, and update contact
details. If you move, switch companies, or
change your email address, login to scaa.org to
update your details.
Discounts.
As you review this benefit packet, keep in mind
that every opportunity is exclusive, discounted,
or complimentary for members.

Here are a few ways to get connected with your
fellow baristas:
Websites.
As a BGA member, you have access to both
baristaguildofamerica.net and scaa.org. Both
websites provide the most up-to-date
information about membership, education, and
events. Log in at scaa.org to access members-
only resources such as the member directory,
SCAA digital library and The Specialty Coffee
Chronicle. BGA Membership also automatically
grants discounted pricing at SCAAs store.
Volunteer.
The BGA depends on the volunteer support of
its members. Plus, it is a great way to connect
with BGA members in your community.
Volunteer support is needed for our SCAA
Annual Event, competitions, at local events, and
more. To learn more about volunteering, email
volunteers@scaa.org.
Member Driven Events.
The BGA encourages members and their
companies to hold events that support
community building. These events encourage
communication, understanding, and respect
between baristas. Baristas who request support
for a Member Driven Event (MDE) will receive
online promotion and giveaways for the event. If
you'd like to host a BGA Member Driven Event,
visit baristaguildofamerica.net.
BGAHey!
An event for members to connect with fellow
members. This is not a latte art competition, in
fact, there will be on competing at all. This event
is a time for coffee professionals to hang out,
chat, bond, network, and just have fun! Each
host will have their own twist on the event but
expect drinks, food, a raffle for great prizes and
more.

Newsletter.
As a BGA member you are automatically signed
up for the monthly newsletter, which keeps you
in the know about upcoming professional
development opportunities, industry events,
special member offers, and more.
Education, Training, and
Certificate Programs
SCAA educational programs, called Pathways,
are based on industry-recognized standards
and best practices, taught by carefully vetted,
experienced instructors. Many classes can be
applied toward professional certificates or
credentials, which provide international
recognition along with personal
accomplishment.
These programs develop a common language
for baristas, roasters, and producers to
exchange information and ideas. Earning a
professional certificate from SCAA is a clear
indication of industry-accepted knowledge and
skills with unparalleled credibility.
As the world's largest trade association for
specialty coffee, SCAA classes, professional
certificates, and credentials provide access to
individual professional development and provide
value to companies throughout the specialty
coffee supply chain. As a BGA member, you will

SCAA, Barista Pathway Certificate Exams, and
eLearning classes. Classes are now offered
