thematerialusedforpipesare:

Thisclassisusedforthepipefromthewellsuptotheslugcatcher.

Downstreamtheslugcatcher,anditmeansthatmostoftheliquidphaseisseparated,was
selectedtheclassCA701forRawgas;forallpipesunderthisclassthematerialisAPI5LGr.B.

MitigationPlan

InthenewconfigurationdesignedfortheMitigationPlanpurpose,thepipingclassCA602has
beenselectedforthelineupstreamtheslugcatcher20130VQ001andalsofromtheslug
catcheruptotieinMP005(upstreamKODrum10300VA002).
ForallpipesunderthisclassthematerialisAPI5LGr.B(alreadyavailableatsite)whiletheoriginal
pipingclassrequiresAPI5LGr.X65.

Verifications

TocheckthesuitabilityofthepipingclassCA602forMultiphaseserviceandthenavoid
corrosionphenomenainsidethepipe,Bonattihascomparedthechemicalcompositionsoftwo
materialsselectedforthispurposes:API5LGr.BandAPI5LGr.X65(seeattachment).
Thechemicalcompositionsareverysimilareachotherhencetheyareequivalentintermsof
corrosionresistance.

ThemechanicalstrengthofGr.X65ishigherthanGr.B,thenifGr.Bisselectedhigherthickness
shallbeutilizedforsamediameterandrating,thatisjustourcase.

Conclusions

ReferringtowhatabovementioneditisconcludedthatclassCA602issuitableforMultiphase
serviceaswellastheCA731,infact:

1. MaterialAPI5LGr.BisevenrequiredbythepipingclassCA731fordiameterslessthan6
2. ThematerialsAPI5LGr.BandAPI5LGr.X65areverysimilarintermsofchemical
compositionandsotheyhaveequivalentcorrosionresistance.

Inconclusion,theclassCA602issuitableforthedesignedpurposeinMitigationPlanprojectand
corrosionphenomenawontbeexpected.
