I. Introduction

II. Objectives

III. Methodology

A. Ingredients:

1. Fine Aggregate 3. Cement

2. Coarse Aggregate 4. Water

B. Materials:

1. Slump Cone
2. Shovel
3. Trowel
4. 1 Plain Sheet
5. Ruler
6. Graduated Cylinder
7. Tamping Rod
8. Bucket Container
9. Plastic can Container
10. Weighing scale
C. Method:
1. Preparation of materials
a. Cement was weighed to 2 kilograms and was set aside on the
plain sheet.

b. Fine sand was weighed to 4 kilograms and the coarse aggregate

to 8 kilograms in accordance to the ratio of 1:2:4.

c. From the water-cement ratio value of 0.65, water was measured to

1.3 liters using the graduated cylinder.
d. Slump cones inner surface and tamping rod was checked if
clean.

2. Mixing of ingredients
a. The dry ingredients were evenly mixed in order;
i. Fine aggregate
ii. Cement
iii. Coarse aggregate

b. The mixture was shaped into a volcano like form.

c. Water was poured slowly unto the crate until thoroughly mixed.
3. Performing Slump Test
a. The slump cone was dampened and put on a level surface of the
plain sheet free from vibration.
b. The slump cone was then filled in three equal layers with the freshly
mixed concrete while being held firmly in place.

c. Each layer was tamped 25 times distributed evenly over their cross
sections.

d. After the top layer was tamped, excess concrete from the top
surface was removed by a trowel and leakages between the
slump cone and the base was cleaned away.
e. The cone was then raised slowly and carefully in a vertical
direction and was placed next to the slumped concrete in an
inverted position

f. The tamping rod was laid across the top of the slump cone. The
amount of slump was then measured in cm from the bottom of the
tamping rod to the top of the slumped concrete by a ruler.
