ORGANIZATIONOFPAPERS
Generally,paperssubmittedforpublicationintheWeldingJournalfallintotwocategories:(1)appliedtechnology
ofpracticalorpopularinterest,and(2)researchorientedofhighlytechnicalorscientificvalue.Usually,theformerare
printedinthefront(FeatureSection)oftheJournal,thelatterintheWeldingSupplementtowardtheback
Withthisinmind,itissuggestedthatmostauthorscanlogicallyorganizetheirmaterialalongthefollowinglines,
usingsuitableheadingsandsubheadingstodividethepaper.

1)ForResearchPapers:
Abstractconcisesummaryofthemajorelementsofthepresentation.Helpsthereadertodecideifthe
informationisforhim/her.Alsohelpsinretrievinginformationforfuturereference.Importantforresearchand
technicalpapers,optionalforothers.Shouldnotexceed200words.

Introductionshortstatementgivingrelevantbackground,purpose,andscopetohelpthereaderorient
himself/herselftothemethodofpresentation.Itisimportanttogettothepointquickly.Donotduplicatethe
abstract(ifoneused).

Selectatitlenotexceedingtenwords,keepinginmindthevalueofusingkeywordsforindexingpurposesand
