*Suggestion to better understand my thought process: go to Flipped Learning Lesson Link first (same for both)

Flip #1: Find a video from either YouTube, TedEd, LearnZillion or one of the other sites to create a flipped lesson.

Standard/Objective: 5.1 Given a decimal through thousandths, round to the nearest whole number, tenth, or
hundredth.
5.2B Compare and order decimals in a given set from least to greatest and greatest to
least use the symbols >, <, =
5.5A Find the sum, difference, product of two numbers expressed as decimals through
thousandths

How will students Students have Microsoft Office accounts and I will share the link to the Google videos
access the video: with them through our shared class notebook.
How will you hold I took one of the videos on rounding decimals and put it into EdPuzzle where I was able
students to create questions for the students to check their understanding of the skill of rounding.
accountable? Since my students wont have Google accounts, Im not sure if Ill be able to use this with
EdPuzzle/Zaption/Forms/ them but I will send them the link for them to join the class:

Similar to Google Forms, Microsoft Office has a quiz feature where I can assign students
quizzes.

We also have a school subscription to PowerTest, an online bank of questions for VA

standards and each student has an account where I can assign quizzes.

class. What will you more review and practice of the skills. They can continue to rewatch them and practice

Feedback: Link to video that supports this standard/objective:
I love this use of Google + ! Such a great way to group resources for the class

Are your students organized enough to make wise selections on their own? Do you have any way of directing the
students in their choices, or ordering the videos to prioritize what they should watch or in what order?

How will you hold students accountable?

I could not see this so I was not able to give feedback.

Flipped Lesson Link:

Decimal pretest: This is a great assessment tool! A great way to know each student well.

The variety of tutorials: Another great way to differentiate.

Follow up lessons for class.
Do you anticipate that most of your students will be capable on their own, or the number of students needing your
assistance is low? Would having them work with other classmates for discussion/collaboration in these tutorials be
helpful?

The activities have a great variety in topic. Realistic types of questions and some really get them thinking!
Are you trying to cover all of the elements in the standards? Might have missed it but I didn't catch anything about
finding the product of two numbers expressed as a decimal.
Also, not sure if it's my eyes but the measurements on the house floor plan, even in presentation mode.

Link to video you created:
I like how you linked decimals to money. The most authentic use of decimals!

Your attention to terminology is great! Line up the place values is a rule that works for all numbers. A great
connection between whole numbers and decimals.

The two lessons you developed work very well together. You have given your students a
lot of options to explore in your Google + Playlist. My only suggestion would be to label
them in the whats new with you area to help navigate the precise purpose of the video.
As there are a few elements you are exploring at one time, students may need to zoom in
on some content but pass over others. This way they do it more efficiently.

The idea of a pretest is wonderful. As you are revisiting content students have seen before
this will give you a quick picture of what they retained and what has to be revisited.

Your slide deck math challenges was a great resource. Your students have a lot of variety
in the topics and in the prompts you have offered. I can see them being used as both
independent tasks as well as for group challenges.

Enjoy using your new content next year!
