The Nurturing Curriculum teaches
parents and children how to:
l Identify and handle feelings
l Communicate needs
l Be empathic
l Replace spanking and yelling with more
effective discipline techniques
l Take charge of ones own behavior
l Have warm interactions and family fun
l Establish nurturing routines for daily
activities such as bed and mealtimes
l Handle stress and anger
l Gain a sense of personal power and
positive self-esteem
l Give and receive healthy touch
Nurturing Parent Programs are offered
throughout North Dakota in the
following locations:
Belcourt, Bismarck/Mandan, Devils Lake,
Dickinson, Fargo, Harvey, Jamestown, Minot,
Valley City, and Williston.
Dates
Spring and fall sessions at most sites.

Program Length Sixteen weeks
Cost FREE to all participants
