CONCLUSION

A DC Series Motor should never be operated at no-load condition. The reason behind is that,
speed is inversely proportional to flux per pole, denoted as . In addition, flux per pole is
directly proportional to the armature current . Thus, speed would be in much higher value
when it is operated at no load
There exists a linear relationship between the armature current and the amount of torque
produced. Torque is directly proportional to armature current over the entire range of graph.
Since the series motor cannot maintain its speed on additional load to the shaft, a DC Series
Motor has very poor speed regulation
