have available. Currently workings as a Senior Logistician at the UNITED NATIONS WORLD FOOD
PROGRAMME with broad experience and wide range of knowledge and skills that will allow me to
contribute toward the success of your esteemed organization.

My expertise lies in successfully managing operational processes, developing best practices, planning
inventory, sourcing, monitoring equipment and personnel logistical activities, and leveraging internal
systems to facilitate improved efficiency and performance. Through my more than 15 years of experience,
I have become adept in ensuring adherence to organizational goals and requirements while facilitating
streamlined operations and motivating team members to peak performance levels.

The following achievements demonstrate my qualification for this position:

Received UNWFP Merit Award and appreciation note from Executive Director Mr. James T. Morris for
the contribution to the Asian tsunami emergency operation 2005, Rome, Italy.
Achieving a record of success in managing strategic logistics / operational planning and execution,
mentoring high-performing personnel, overseeing fiscal and budget responsibilities, and maintaining
accountability for up to $4.75M worth of budget on logistics operation.
Spearheading resource allocation, regulatory compliance, purchasing and procurement, data analysis,
records management, and overarching operations to achieve deadlines and requirements.
Continually improving internal processes and procedures to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure
seamless operations.
Overseeing all facets of special projects from inception through execution, identifying and securing
necessary resources, equipment, and staff to meet project deadline and budgetary requirements.
Working with major donors like USAID, ECHO, CERF, AL-WALEED, CANADA, KOICA & JPN on the
ongoing sustainable Development Programme (Country Project) and Emergency Operations.
Earning a Master of Science degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Asia e University
Malaysia

Before joining the UN, I served in the Middle East Saudi Arabia for Northern Area Armed Forces Hospital
also known as KKCMH (King Khaled Military City Hospital), as Senior Buyer/Purchaser from 1995 to
2002. These duties gave me an opportunity learn procurement function and to work with various national,
culture, learn and conversation in Arabic language.

In fact, I feel that this vacancy and your esteemed organization ideally fits my work experience, skills and
qualifications. After serving 15 years of service with the UN mainly in disaster/conflict and development
operation, this role is exactly the sort of role I am currently targeting and I am confident I will be able to
make a major contribution in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.

Lastly, the reason that Im applying to this post is that current WFP projects in Sri Lanka is drastically
reduced and might phase out soon due to present country context as Sri Lanka has become Middle-Income
Countries (MICs) status Country.
