TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY INVESTIGATION
SSAISD asked by TEA to provide information and statement on three separate allegations

SAN ANTONIO, TX- In a letter sent this week to South San Antonio ISD Superintendent Dr.
Abelardo Saavedra, a Texas Education Agency (TEA) investigator asked the district to provide
information on three separate allegations as well as a statement on the allegations.

The district is aware of some of the issues in the allegations and will respond to the TEA by
September 5 as requested. On the issues that the district has not been aware of, a proper and
expedient investigation will be conducted and the resulting information will be provided to the
TEA by the required timeline.

The district is releasing this information at this time in the spirit of transparency and in our
continuing efforts of keeping the community informed.

We encourage the public to come forward with any issues of mismanagement or inappropriate
behavior by staff of the district and will continue to cooperate with the TEAs investigation until
this matter is resolved.
