General Santos City, being known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines for long, looks beyond than

just tuna. In fact, the citys agriculture industry significantly helps the countrys economic growth as a
whole. Famous for these agro-industry products are coconut, pineapple, corn, etc. This was given
importance in the design concept of the four gateways entering the city which its sole purpose is for a
person, especially a tourist, would visualize in his/her mind the identity of the city. Of course, fishing
industry is not being left behind, as an element of the citys abundant waters is also being applied, which
is the coral reef. Through the integration of the design concept, this will further enhance the sense of
place its been working on.
