I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, of the students should be able to:
1. Explain incomplete dominance pattern of inheritance;
2. Illustrate by means of Punnett square a cross involving incomplete
dominance pattern of inheritance
II. Learning Task

A. Subject Matter
NON-MENDELIAN PATTERNS OF INHERITANCE
B. Teaching Aids and Devices
Chalk and board, Visual Aid, Learners Module, Teachers guide and materials to
be used for the activity.

III. ACTIVITY

Teachers Activity Students activity

A. Pre-Activity
The teacher will recall to the students
the salient points of Mendels Pattern
of Inheritance.

Gregor Mendels principles form the

base for the understanding of heredity
and variation. Although Mendels work
failed to discuss thoroughly the factors
or genes he mentioned in his laws of
inheritance, his findings prompted
other scientists to probe further into
themysteryofheredity.Severalresearches
wereconducted after
thediscoveryof Mendels work. This
morning through our activity we will
be able to know what are those traits or
characters that do not conform to the
Mendelian pattern of inheritance.
Please go your respective group and
perform the activity.

B. Activity Proper
(see the attached activity sheet)

C. Post Activity
The teacher will let the student report the The student will perform the
result of their activity in class. activity.
The student will present the
result of their activity in class.

The teacher will discuss the following :
Incomplete dominance is a form of
intermediate inheritance in which
one allelefor a specific trait is not
completely dominant over the
other allele. This results in a third

physical trait is a combination of

The teacher will let ask the students the
following:

What is Incomplete Dominance? Answers may vary

Can you give an example of it?

How about Codominance?
