This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq.
Proper public notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on August 19, 2017 and August
20, 2017.
If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in violation of
the Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they make a statement
at this time.
The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video and
will be broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77, Fios Channel 46 and on You Tube.
The full meeting recording will also be made available on BoardDocs, which can be accessed through
the district homepage.
The Hoboken Board of Education is committed to preserving the decorum of the public process and is

Recommended WHEREAS, Christine A. Johnson is currently employed by the Hoboken

Action Board of Education (hereinafter referred to as "the Board") as its Superintendent of
Schools, and is serving under terms and conditions of a written employment contract
that took effect on July 15, 2015, and extends until June 30, 2020; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Hoboken Public School District to provide for
administrative stability, the continued execution of goals and objectives, and to
minimize disruptions to the effective operation of the District;
BE IT RESOLVED that the current contract of Superintendent Christine A. Johnson is

hereby rescinded effective midnight August 22, 2017; and,
BE IT RESOLVED that Christine A. Johnson is hereby reappointed as Superintendent of

Schools for the term beginning August 23, 2017, and ending midnight June 30, 2022
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board approves the Employment Contract between
the Board and Superintendent Christine A. Johnson for the term beginning August 23,
2017 and ending midnight June 30, 2022 that was approved by the Hudson County
Interim Executive Superintendent on August 18, 2017;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board President shall sign the Employment Contract
with Christine A. Johnson on its behalf.

Recommended Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11(c)3, the Board Secretary does certify that no line item
Action account has encumbrances and expenditures, which in total exceed the line item
appropriation in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11(a). Pursuant to N.J.A.C.
6A:23-2.11(c)4, the Hoboken Board of Education has reviewed for the minutes of this
meeting the Board Secretary and Cash Flow monthly financial reports for June 2017 are
in agreement and that no major account or fund has been over-expended in violation of
N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11(b).
Subject 10.03 Approval of Monthly Transfers
Recommended RESOLVED, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, that the School District of the

Please be aware that JFK Stadium, like all other Board of Education Facilities, is a Smoke-Free location.
Additionally, the following activities or items are NOT allowed on the JFK Stadium field:
Animals (except to assist persons of disability)

Bicycles
Chairs or benches (must only be placed on concrete)
Food or drink on the field surface (water only)
Alcoholic beverages
Glass containers
Sunflower seeds or other shelled nuts and gum
Tobacco products
Fireworks or any open flame
Golfing, shot putting, javelin or discus throwing
Unauthorized use of model planes or rockets
Metal cleats and spikes (only formed rubber cleats are allowed)
High heeled shoes
Painting, chalking, tape or other adhesive material without prior approval
Formal practice without prior field reservation
Stakes, spikes or other pointed objects, such as tent stakes, corner flags, and poles that may
penetrate or damage the turf
Portable heater and/or any open flame
Any golfing or throwing activities such as hammer, shot, discus or javelin
Suntan lotions, oils or creams of any kind - Please apply sunblock prior to entering the turf area

Failure to comply with these rules will result in users being asked to leave and / or immediate cancellation of
reservation.
