Please follow the instructions below for assistance configuring the service on the My Book Liv e drives:
1. Ensure the Twonky Media Server is enabled on your drive. For assistance enabling or disabling this service please see Answer ID 6606:
Enabling or Disabling the Twonky Media Server for the My Book Live.
2. Open a web browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
3. In the URL field type: http:// followed by your drives name or I P Address . After the drive name/address enter a colon (:) and the number
'9000'. For example if your drive is named mybook l ive the address you would enter is: http://mybook li ve:9000 . Once entered press
the ENTER key on your keyboard.

4. You will be taken to the Twonky Media Server main page. If you are taken to a search result, or otherwise are unable to access this page
make sure you can access the Dashboard. If you are not able to access the Dashboard, your drive is either not properly connected to the
Network or is being blocked by a firewall or other security software. You will need to resolve this issue before continuing.

5. Click on the Wrench Icon. You will now be on the Twonky Media Server Configuration page.
Once you have reached the Twonky Media Server Configuration page, you will be able to adjust the settings for the server. The Twonky Media Server
splits its configuration into Basic Setup and Advanced Setup.

Bas ic Setup Options :

Clicking on First steps will give you access to settings for the Language, Server Name, Naviation Tree type, and the User name/Password required
to access the Twonky Media Server configuration page.

Changing the Language setting will change the language of both the Twonky Media Server configuration pages, as well as the language in the
menu trees sent to any DLNA compliant devices.
Changing the Server Name will allow you to change what the displayed server name is when browsing for Media Servers. If you enter the text
% H OSTNAME% in the field this will be replaced by the name of the drive (for example if your drive is named IH eartWD enter %HOSTNAME%-
MyTwonkyServer it will broadcase I H eartWD- My Twonk yServ er .

The Navi gati on Tree setting will let you change between 3 settings: Advanc ed default navi gati on , iPod-l ik e , and By Fol der . This will affect
how items are structured when streamed to DLNA compliant devices.

The Us er Name/Pas sword fields allow you to create a username and password for the Twonky Media Server configuration pages. There is no
username or password by default. If a username/password is set you will not be able to access the Twonky Media Server configuration page
without it.
Once you have made all the changes you would like to make on this page click the Sav e Changes button.

Clicking on Sharing will allow you to change what directory is used to stream, what content types are streamed, what directories are streamed as
"Music Compliations", and how often Twonky Media Server will rescan for changes in content

By default the only location shared is /Public . This shares all of the content in the Public share on your drive. You can change this to point to a
different network share, or a sub-directory on the share. For example if you created a share called NotPublic and a folder called
My_ Shared_ Stuff you could add a location field with the value of /NotPubl ic/My_ Shared_ Stuff and the Twonky Media Server will stream the
files in that location.
For each location shared you will need to determine what content types are streamed. This will allow the server to ignore other content types and
only stream the content you wish to. For example if you have both Music and Video files in the folder you are sharing, and set the content type to
V ideos- only you will only stream the video files in that location.

The Compl iation directories field will allow you to input a list of folders that will be automaticly handled as music compliations. If you do not
know what to enter here, leave this field at the default settings.

The Rescan i n Minutes field allows you to set how often the server checks for new content. If set to -1 the server will automaticly update when
new content is added. If this is set to 0 than the drive will never scan for new data once the server is running. If this is set to a number greater than
0 it will scan in minutes. For example if you set the value to 5 it will scan every 5 minutes.
Once you have made all the changes you would like to make on this page click the Sav e Changes button.

Advanc ed Setup Opti ons :

player, set what type of player it is, and set a customized navigation layout for that specific device. In addition, you have the option to fully reset
the list of devices, as well as enabling or disabling access to a specific device.

Clicking on Network will allow you to manually restart the Twonky Media Server, as well as giving you an option to have the server automaticly
