Objective:
To gain employment with a company where my technical skill and knowledge of basics,
Especially in the area of CAE, can be utilized effectively.
Summary of Skills and Experience
• Having More than 3 years of experience in Aerospace & Automotive domain as
structural analysis using MSC Patran/Nastran/Hypermesh.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
● Working as an Assistant Analysis Engineer in CADES Digitech Pvt. Ltd.,
Bangalore since April 2007 to till date
Projects Accomplished:
Project Title:
(1)Stress check & Reserve Factor estimation for Fastener in various joint & Global local Analysis
to optimize the design (Fasteners Calculation)
Client: Agusta Westland Helicopter, UK
Project Specific Skills: MSC Patran, MathCAD, MS Office, Westland S214 programme
Role: Stress analysis Engineer.
Description: The objective of this project was to calculate the forces applied on the
fasteners at the joints and calculate the RF( Reserve factor)
The process involved Finite element selection at the joint region from the coarse mesh FE
model, load extraction for the applicable load cases using customized program S214.
Fasteners load and RF calculated using MS Excel and MathCAD and documented
(2) Finite Element Model (FEM) of Airbus A400M wing box Ribs
Client: Airbus UK
Project Specific Skills: Hypermesh
Material: Aluminum.
Role: Stress analysis Engineer.
Description: The project involved the Finite Element Model (FEM) preparation of wing
box ribs of A400M airbus. The data is given in the form of CATIA part model. The data
is converted to IGES format in CATIA and FEM model is prepared to the required
specification. Stiffener part is meshed to the mid plane and web portion is meshed to the
bottom plane and different thickness is given to the specified regions.
After Meshing
• Export the meshing rib in the form of .inp extension file.
Description: Some of the BIW components like Body side outer, Door sheet metal
panels, Bumper parts such as Bumper skin, bumper grill, Interiors like Instrument
panel ,dash panel, IP trims etc.,
INPUT DATA: IGS. The project involves, Geometric cleaning of the component
Mid surface extraction. Surface meshing -using shell elements. i.e., FE Modeling of the
component as per the customer requirement.
Checking and clearing the failing elements in Time Step and in quality parameters
specified by client.
Assigning Shell Elements Property and Material Property.( PID & MID)
FE shell modeling of BIW components like Car Door Panels, Center floor panel, rear floor panel,
Roof, dash board and Truck _bed, bumper etc.
TOOL USED: Hypermesh 7.0

“FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF GAS TURBINE COMPONENTS”
Brief Overview of Project:
A gas turbine is a rotary machine which is mainly used in aircraft and industrial power
generation. In this project a FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS is conducted on two gas
turbine components, namely: the exhaust duct and the turbine rotor. In a gas turbine
large temperature changes result in non uniform temperature distribution giving rise to
thermal stresses and thermo-mechanical fatigue. In the first case the temperature
distribution and the stresses were obtained by conducting a steady state structural and
thermal analysis on the exhaust duct component.
In the second case topological optimization was carried out on a turbine rotor in order
to obtain the optimum locations of the geometric discontinuities like the purge holes,
cooling holes and the bolt holes for minimum stress distribution. The rotor component
was modeled and analyzed using the Ansys FEA tool.
(2) “Design and Simulation of the Common Rail Injection System” using AMESim
4.3 tool
The Common rail is the state of the art fuel injection system designed to comply with the
increasing demand for specific power, reduced fuel consumption, as well as lower noise
& exhaust gas emissions. In the project the different component of the system (pump,
pressure regulator, injector, & rail) modeled using AMESim Hydraulic component
design with control library. In other part i.e. in Simulation part we did the linear
analysis (time response) like flow rate of the fuel injected into combustion chamber &
displacement of the nozzle.
Academic project:
(1) Analysis and optimization of an IC-Engine piston using CatiaV5 (for modeling)
and ANSYS (for analysis).
Analysis and optimization of an IC-Engine piston is a project taken by us with an
aim to study the stress distribution in the piston and also optimize the design. In
this project the analysis of Mechanical and Thermal stresses acting on the Piston is
carried out and in turn this defines the problem and further optimized solution is
obtained using ANSYS (for analysis) and CatiaV5 (for modeling)
