2.1. Notes on handling the printed circuit board with microprocessor
The microprocessor is constructed using CMOS digital IC and MOS FET technology, and is extremely sensitive to static electric-
ity, including static discharges from handling, clothing, and from objects, including soldering irons. Care must be exercised as
specified below.
When handling, workers shall be grounded through a few MW of resistance.
Ground soldering irons. Do not use poorly insulated soldering irons. preferably, use soldiering irons with microcircuitry.
Do not touch the pins of ICs or other elements with your hands. Do not place the board on a conductive surface that may be
charged.
Do not insert parts from the reverse side of the board.
When testing with a multimeter during continuity tests, do not use high resistance ranges (*10000), which subjects ICs and other
components on the board to excess voltage.
Keep soldering time as short as possible. (within a few seconds)
Unplug the power cord from the wall socket before replacing any components.
Be aware of the risk of electric shock or injury when handling a live control board. The control board's transformer carries 220
VAC.

Make sure that the LCD panel shows the current time with the inner pan set in the cooker and the power cord plugged into the wall
socket.
Be sure to check that the cooker main body is cooled enough. (If a hot cooker is tested, the cooker may enter the self-diagnosis
mode.)

6.3. KEEP WARM TEST
6.3.1. The procedure of the keep warm test
(Because this test is a simple test, correctly, keep a meal warm and confirm it.)
1. Place a mercury thermometer between urethane foam blocks.
(Urethane foam blocks (ASN-300) and the thermometer (ASN-150H) are supplied as spare parts.)
2. Place the urethane foam blocks holding the thermometer in the center of the bottom of the pan, and allow the cooker to run in
the Keep Warm process.
3. More than one hour later, open the lid and read the temperature within 10 seconds.
The temperature in the 69C - 77C range is normal. If the warming temperature lies outside this range, make sure that no dirt
or foreign matter is stuck on the pan sensor or on the bottom of the pan.
The product is designing of 74C2C as the aim with keeping warm temperature.
4. If the test ends, it returns a keeping warm mode to the condition before doing a test.

7.1. About the way of the switching of the rice cooking ending temperature
The rice cooking ending temperature and the keeping warm temperature became able to be changed by the key operation.
When in reduces the smell when wanting it reduces burn in keeping warm is hard, do temperature switching in the following way.
1
When you push "Cancel/Off" key, the setting which was changed by it is
stored and becomes " the time display mode at present (the standing-by
mode) ".
2

3
You confirm that the present time (the display) of the LCD is blinking
and press "Timer" key three times.
Display a 5 digit alphabet and a figure in the LCD display.
4
Change the preset temperature of the temperature switching condition
to be displaying at present every time you push "hour" key.

7.2. About the keeping warm temperature selection method
The keeping warm temperature can be changed to 72 or 76 by the key operation.
In other words, the setting of the present keeping warm temperature (improvement keeping warm "74") can be 2C changed.
When the smell and the dryness in keeping warm are hard, do temperature switching in the following way.
1
When you push "Cancel/Off" key, the setting which was changed by it is
stored and becomes " the time display mode at present (the standing-by
mode) ".
2
All pushes "Menu Select" key in the condition (the standing-by mode) of
off and makes "Cake" course a choice condition.
(" : The improvement " Rice cooking LED blinks, saying " the pressing of
" lighting-up, "Keep Warm".)
3
"Timer" I press a key three times.
The display (the blink), "74" (or "72""76") which is set at present blinks
at the same time about keeping warm LED, too, to the LCD.
4
The one which was set in the choice in "72" "74" "76" every time it
pushed "Timer" key in above-mentioned condition is displayed in the
blink.
*In the time of shipment from factory, I am "74".
"min" I make a desired temperature because I display "72" "74" "76"
in turn every time it pushes a key.
Within 4 seconds, I accept a key operation from the last key opera-
tion from the setting beginning but after the elapse in 4 seconds, I
don't accept a key operation (The automatic setting mode cancella-
tion).
LCD display's " blink " ends and keeping warm LED goes out and
becomes " the standing-by mode ".
16
When pushing "Cancel/Off" key during LCD blink display, the setting
change becomes a standing-by mode in the condition which was
canceled and chose a keeping warm temperature before choice
beginning.

8.4. QUICK CHECK TEST OF THE CONTROL BOARD
(Before beginning diagnostic evaluation of a problem, perform a quick check test of the control board, as explained below, and
determine the quality of the control board (operating part).)
Perform the procedure below. If nothing abnormal is found and all keys are functioning properly, you can conclude that the control
board (operating part) passes the test (excluding temperature processes for rice cooking and Keep Warm).
If a problem is found, perform a specific diagnosis is based on the problem diagnosis table.
1
Connect the unit to a power source by inserting the plug into an outlet.
In the stand-by mode, using three fingers, simultaneously press and
hold "Timer" "Menu/Select" and "Start/Reheat".
2
With the keys pressed, if all areas on the LCD panel light up, as shown
at right, the control board can be judged to be normal.
(Releasing any or all of the keys will cancel the test condition.)
3
As soon as you release the three keys, the COOKING lamps will light
up and a buzzer will sound. On cooking, as indicated at right, has
started, the fan motor has started to rotate.
* Indication of the current time is optional. (Pre-cooking can be omitted.)
4
Push "Cancel/Off" once.
Push other keys and confirm that operation is normal.
After carrying out procedures 1 to 4, if test results are normal, you can conclude that the P.C.B.(Operating) has passed the test.

10 Measurements and Adjustments
10.1. ADJUSTING THE INPUT POWER SUPPLY
Input power is factory-adjusted for the P.C.B. (Operation) and then supplied to the user. (For normal operation, therefore, it is not
necessary to adjust the input power.) However, if adjustment is needed for some reasons, follow the procedure below: Note that the
adjustment dials (VR1 and VR2) are on the control board, therefore it is difficult to adjust the power from the outside.
Before adjusting the power, order a new operation panel, and replace the problem operation panel with a new panel. After that,
adjust the power.
10.1.1. Procedure
1. Apply 220 VAC 50 Hz. (including the time during the adjustment)
2. Pour a 0.5 liter of water into the inner pan.
3. Perform a quick check test of the control board (See page 9.) to light COOKING LED on.
4. Min push a key once.
