UNIDAD III: CONDICIONALES
Los condicionales son ciertas estructuras del ingls en las cuales, si cierta condicin, situacin o circunstancia
es verdadera, entonces sucede un resultado especfico. Los tipos usuales de "condicionales" son:
a) Zero Conditional - type 0 ( Cero Condicional - tipo 0).-Este condicional refiere a una situacin que es siempre
verdadera (verdades universales): If you freeze water, it turns into ice. (Si usted congela el agua, se convierte en hielo).
If clause Main clause
If + Present tense Present tense
If you freeze water it turns into ice.
b) First Conditional - type I (Primer Condicional - type I).- Se forma con if + simple present + simple future. Se
emplea cuando una situacin es real o posible: If it rains today, I'll stay at home (Si llueve hoy, me quedar en casa)
If clause Main clause
If + Present tense will / can / may / must + verb
If it rains today, I'll stay at home
c) Second Conditional type II (Segundo Condicional - type II).- Refiere a una situacin hipottica y se forma segn
la estructura if + simple past + simple condicional: If I won the lothery I would travel around the world (Si yo ganara la
lotera, yo viajara alrededor del mundo)

If + Past Simple would / could / might + verb
If I won the lottery, I would travel around the world.
d)Third Conditional type III (Segundo Condicional - type III).- Refiere a una situacin hipottica del pasado y se forma segn
la estructura: if + past perfect + conditional perfect. If I had won the lottery, I would have traveled around the world. (Si yo
hubiera Ganado la loteria, yo habra viajado alrededor del mundo

If + Past Perfect tense would/could/might + have + past participle
If I had won the lottery, I would have traveled around the world.

UNIDAD VI: VOZ PASIVA

La voz pasiva se forma mediante la combinacin de la forma adecuada y tiempo del verbo auxiliar ser y el
participio pasado de otro verbo.

Ejemplos: - A lot of coffee is produced in Brazil.


- Two new apartment houses are being built on the street where I live.
- All of the invitations for my sisters party have been sent.
- Phil told me his salary would be raised next month.

La voz pasiva se usa ms comnmente en las oraciones donde el inters del que habla est sobre la
actividad verbal en s en vez de sobre el sujeto.

Las distintas formas que toma el verbo en la voz pasiva son:

Present Perfect have/has been + pp The President of America has been shot.
Past Perfect had been + pp When he got home he found that all of his
money had been stolen.
Future Perfect will have been + pp Our baby will have been born before Christmas.

En las formas del future progressive (will be being + pp) y perfect progressive (has been being + pp) no
es muy comn su uso.
Para decir quin haca la accin o qu la causaba, se usa 'by'.
This house was built by my mother. / Esta casa fue construida por mi madre.
Washington was bombed by Pakistan. / Washington fue bombardeado por Pakistn.
La voz pasiva se suele utilizar cuando se desconoce o no interesa mencionar quin o qu hace la accin.
