4. Before painting, it is nec es s ary to pres s fabric to remove all wrink les and ens ure
that s urfac e is flat.
5. If you happen to mak e any mis tak es during painting, fear not, try lifting it out
immediately by blotting it with a baby wipe or a c lean brus h.
6. Painted fabric need to be laid flat to dry thoroughly for preferably 24 hours before
ironing it to heats et. Plac e a c loth over your fabric to iron or you c an iron on the
wrong/other s ide of the fabric , preventing the paints from getting into your iron.
7. If you are us ing ac rylic paints ,there is no need to heat- s et, as the paints are
permanent onc e dry.

For painting a s aree:

1.Choos e the s ide you wis h to paint.

2.Clamp this s ide to the wooden board us ing binder c lips .

3.On the border, mark approximately a 12 c m thic k s trip, along the length
of the c loth. This will be the border of your s aree.

4.Us ing the 3D out liner, draw the pattern you wis h to, on the inner and
outer s ide (it c an be a s traight line or wavy line or s ome pattern
depending on how you wis h it to be). Let the pattern dry (it tak es about 2-
3 hours for drying).

5.N ow paint the c entral region us ing fabric paints and mak e patterns of
your c hoic e.

6. you c an s tic k s equins us ing the fabric glue in the unpainted regions . Stic k them at
even dis tanc es s o that they s hine as the orientation of light c hanges .

7.After the paint dries , you c an outline the painted patterns with 3D out liner of your
c hoic e. It's better to c hoos e a c olour that c ontras ts well with both the s aree c olour and
fabric c olour, for example, on a red s aree with blac k fabric paint, s ilver mak es a good
c ontras t. Let the 3D out liner dry.

8.Shift the s aree to following part and paint s imilarly until all the border on one s ide is
painted.

9. To c reate a "pallu", c hoos e a ric hly dec orated pattern with s equins and fabric paint
being us ed.

10.Stitc h beads to the outer s ide of the pallu to mak e it heavier s o that it s tays in plac e.
