It is a poetry narrating the life of r Kvyakanha


Gaapatimuni who was born in Andhra Pradesh in 1878, endowed with a rare poetic
talent. He composed many poems and won the most coveted title Kvyakanha and
came to be known as Kvyakanha Gaapatimuni. He was an extra ordinary scholar,
a perfect yogin, a patriot, an astrologer par excellence and a saint. He composed about
a hundred books in metric style besides books in the form of sutras and bhashyas.
Kvyakanhacaritam is an epic poem in 21 cantos in about 1000 verses. The
description begins with the eulogy of the Andhra State, its culture and people and goes
on to write about r Gaapatimunis birth, childhood, education, marriage, his desire
to do penance, meeting with r Ramaa Maharshi and accepting him as his spiritual
Guru, his last days and so on.

These Video DVDs contain 14 lectures on Manaml by Prof Revathy Sukumar,
delivered in CIF in June, 2010 during the Textual Workshop on Indian Philosophy A
Brief Analytical Study.
Manaml is a text on epistemology, authored by Achyutakrishnanandatirtha with a
commentary by r Ramananda. This text analyses the six means of knowledge
(prama), namely Pratyaksha, Anumana, Upamana, Arthapatti, Anupalabdhi and
Sabda from the context of Advaita epistemology.
Prof Revathy Sukumar(1959-2014) served as a Professor of Sanskrit in Madras
University. Her explanation on the Manamala is exemplary and throws light on these
six Pramanas and the Advaitin's exposition of the same.
