- In C1, after the word " distances" add "more than 2 kms
from airfield boundary and "
- in C1(a), replace "above ground level(AGL)" by ARP
elevation"
- Delete C2(b)
4.4 Members were also of the opinion that local level coor-
dination by the applicants may, substantially help the clearance
process. In this context, Wireless Adviser informed that Region-
al Advisory Committees on siting existed throughout the country
and advantage could be taken of these fora for achieving local
level coordination.
6. The Chairman also pointed out that WPC & SACFA operations
would be computerised with the appropriate technical and finan-
cial assistance. Digitised maps are available with Survey of
India and adoption of these maps in the work of SACFA would
further streamline the process of site clearance.
7.1 The Chairman agreed for the project in principle and asked
WPC to process the case further.
8.1 The member from Rlys requested SACFA Sectt. to send them
brief for the meetings also electronically which was agreed to.

ANNEXURE I
1.2 The land comprising within the runway strip of uniform width
of 75 metres on either side of the centre line which extend to
60m meters beyond each extremity of the runway or associated
stopway in case of non-instrument runway.
2. In an aerodrome where:-
ANNEXURE-II
2.2 ILS
2.6 Extended Range VHF:- Beyond 305 metres from the antenna
front, the elevation angle permitted is 0.5 degree in the line of
shoot (10 degrees on either side of the desired direction).
Definitions
(ii) Glide Path:- This facility radiates UHF (Ultra High Frequen-
cy) signals. It is normally situated about 275 metres to 305
metres from the runway threshold and offset about 122 metres to
137 metres from the centreline of the runway. This provides the
glide angle information to a landing aircraft with the help
of an instrument in the cockpit which when tuned to the glide
path frequency indicates whether the aircraft is flying up/down
along the correct glide angle.
4. Communication/Navigational Facilities:-
B 2 Air HQ
------
It is not possible to define a concrete policy on the
subject, as around airfield there is a defined local flying area
where the height restrictions of flying depend upon the type of
aircraft flying at that airfield however, the following broad
guidelines are offered for selection of sites:
B 3 Navy
----
B 4 ARMY
----
B 5 J.C.E.S :
- The site should meet the guidelines laid down by the three
Services.
- The site should meet specific limits laid down by the three
Services in border and coastal areas.

d) Cyclone warning and dissemination system.
e) V-SATs
B 14 Doordarshan
-----------
- The proposed site should not cause obstruction to LOS links
of Doordarshan.
B 16 Railways

- The proposed site should not cause interference to
communications links of Railways and
