1. INTRODUCTION

Following are the steps needed to convert to Multi-Org.

2. Set of Books

Create a Set of Books.

3. Business Group

Change the default Business group Name to the Customers.


Note: Before defining Organization, set the profile option HR: User Type to HR User
to get access to Define Organization window.

4. Location

Define Location

5. Organization

Define Organization, for defining the organization do the following: -

Organization Name
Location (Attach the location that was created)
In the Organization classification window, choose the following
3. GRE/Legal Entity. Check the Enabled check box and click on others. Choose
Employer identification and enter the Employer Identification number. Choose
Legal Entity Accounting and attach the Set of Books for this Legal Entity.
4. Choose Operating Unit. Check the Enabled check box and click on others.
Choose Operating Unit Information and attach the Legal Entity and Set of Books
for this Operating Unit.
5. Choose Inventory Organization. Check the Enabled check box and click on
others. Choose Accounting Information and attach the Set of Books, Legal Entity
and Operating Unit for this Inventory Organization.

6. System Profile Option

Set the Profile Option: MO: Operating Unit to link the Operating Unit to
responsibility. This profile option must be set for each Responsibility. Also define default
operating Unit by setting the Profile option MO: Operating Unit at the Site level.

7. Run the AD Utility adadmin

Follow the below mentioned steps for running the adadmin utility
Shut down all Concurrent Managers and ensure that all users have logged out.
Set up the environment by running envshell.cmd located in the %APPL_TOP% directory.
Ensure that there is minimum 50MB space in the temporary directories denoted by
%APPLTMP%, %APPLPTMP% and %REPORTS60_TMP%

Run the adadmin utility from the same command window which was used when envshell.cmd
was run
Respond for appropriate prompts made by adadmin utility.
After running the utility check the log file located in $APPL_TOP/admin/<SID>/Log

8. Check whether Multi-Org has been enabled

Run the query Select multi_org_flag from fnd_product_groups. If the flag value is Y, then it
means your database is setup for multi-org.
