Purpose/Questions

The Purpose of this Research or Experiment is to find out how many water
content do Mung bean needs for it to grow healthier and swiftly

Q. Do Mung beans grow faster with more water?

Research

[1] The mung bean (Vigna radiata), alternatively known as the moong
bean, green gram, or mung, The mung bean is mainly cultivated in
Pakistan, India, China, Korea, and Southeast Asia. It is used as an
ingredient in both savory and sweet dishes.

[2] Mongo seeds can grow without soil, Soil is just a medium which the
plant can access nutrients and the micro-organisms that form part of the
nitrogen cycle that it requires for its metabolism. It can be substituted for
materials that can hold onto water and provide a habitat for the same
micro-organisms.

HYPOTHESIS

Mung beans can grow faster with more water


EXPERIMENT

1st Step: Taking up water

First of all we put around 15 beans of Mung each into 2


plastic cups and put water to begin the germination
process, all the floating seeds were removed and we
balance all the viable seeds for each cup, The first cup
contain more water than the other one

2nd Step: Check it every time

Mongo seeds naturally grow fast, so we need to check it time to time to see the
changes and the difference of the growth of the seed on each cup

RESULT: after 30 Hours

A. Contain more water B. Contain lesser water


DATA ANALYSIS

Seeds A- Contain more water

Seeds B Contain less water

After 10 Hours:

We observed that the seed starts gaining weight


more than double because of the water and
germination process

Seeds A and B have the same result

After 18 Hours:
Seeds A
Seeds A Starts to swell

Seeds B Small changes, only of the seeds starts swelling

After 30 Hours:

Seeds A develop white root tip called the radicle and have much
greener result , the seeds are ready to grow leaves

Seeds B develop white root tip called the radicle

CONCLUSION

We conclude that the Mung Beans are faster to develop or grow


with much more water because more water helps to make faster
germination process
