SEO1 Project Guidelines

1. The project is an individual work. No group work is allowed.


2. The project must be a functioning website.
3. The website must be properly optimized using SEO guidelines and techniques.
4. You are allowed to use using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and any library utilizing JavaScript to
create your webpages.
5. You can use secondary tools like Adobe Photoshop for editing graphical elements.
6. The project is due 4 meetings before the scheduled final exams.
7. No late work will be accepted.
8. The complete documentation should also be submitted including the soft copy of the project
files.
9. It is the responsibility of the student/group to bind all documentation securely and neatly.
10. All CDs should include a CD cover design with the website title and developer.
11. The student is expected to demonstrate his project to the lecturer on the scheduled
demonstration. Marks will be provided for the demonstration.
12. Marks will be awarded for design and layout, visual impact, functionality, organization, and
presentation skills.
13. Any image/designs/programs downloaded from the Internet should be given credence.
14. Project materials of each student cannot be shared with others. The results will be withheld for
further investigation if any identical projects are found.
15. Proper backup has to be maintained. You should not copy the softcopy of projects into any of
school computers in order to avoid any identical pairs of projects.
16. The storage media should be easy to remove and place back into the pocket.
17. You can use alternative storage media like internet cloud services.
18. The school will not be responsible for any missing pages of the documentation or storage media
due to the students negligence.

Project Requirements

1. Students are to create a functioning website.


2. The application can be created using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Advanced languages like PHP
and JQuery can be used.
3. The website should have the following webpages:
a. Index page
b. About
c. Contact
d. Sitemap
4. The website should be as creative and unique as possible.
5. The website must have a functioning navigation bar and footer.

Tools Allowed

1. Students are to use tools that they have learned in the course.
2. Students may use alternative tools approved by the lecturer.

Project Submission

1. Students are expected to submit the following:


a. Properly bound documentation.
b. CD containing website files and other files used.
2. Soft copy of all raw and processed files must be submitted.
3. Students should create folders for the different files and name them appropriately.
4. The soft copy of all files should be saved in a CD and attached to the documentation with a
proper pocket.

Documentation

Proposal

1. Students are to submit the proposed website 2 meetings before the scheduled prelimination
exams for the lecturers approval.
2. The proposal is to be bound together with the final documentation.
3. The proposal should include the following:
a. Proposed application
i. Intended use of the website
ii. Target audience
b. Flow chart/paradigm of the program
c. Screen design/User Interface
d. Tools to be used
i. State all tools to be used and their intended purpose

Scope of Work

1. Record and document every single stage of your production.


2. The documentation should include a screen capture of all development tools used and
processes, discussion on the work done and the expected task completion.

Advantages of Tools Used

Discuss the advantages of all the development tools used in your game.

Disadvantages of Tools Used

Discuss the disadvantages of all the development tools used in your game.

Lessons Learned

Discuss the lessons learned in creating the project.

Conclusion

State the strengths and weaknesses in your production. State possible future enhancements for
your game.
