DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUE

The issue in our daily life that we have come up with is Global Warming. Global Warming means
the increase in the average temperature of the Earths near-surface air and oceans. The reason
we decided to choose this issue due to the fact that nowadays the temperature of the earth is
getting higher. Besides that, we witnessed an incident where people are cutting trees which are
not harming other people instead protecting people from getting burned by the sun rays. These
are the reasons why we chose Global Warming as the issue.

The factors that contribute to global warming are deforestation, logging, the use of
Chlorofluorocarbon, Hydrochlorofluorocarbons and so on. All these factors are made up by
humans everyday on our planet. The effects of global warming are being felt by everyone across
the globe and in recent years thousands of people dead due to extreme heat waves which we
created unknowingly. Global warming affects environmental, economic and health of the people.
This is because the extreme heat wave causes the glaciers to melt, rising sea level occurs,
increase flooding which affects agriculture and also health will be affected causing asthma and
other health issues.

Based on the research done by Ecocleen, it has been found that there are 30 greenest cities on
Earth. Our country Malaysia is not in the list and that surprised us because our neighbor country
Singapore is considered as one of the 30 greenest cities. This result has taken us aback and try
to solve this issue and include our country in that list. That was our aim. So, this result shows that
Malaysia is lacking of greenery spaces and need to develop the habit of preserving nature and
reduce the activities which causes the global temperature to rise. So, we found out that there are
so many places with constructions going on and there were no trees around the area. The housing
developers did not take this issue seriously as they only want profit out of it. After completing the
housing area, they have planted only few trees around the area just to follow the criteria that
demands them to at least plant trees around the housing area. Although they did plant trees but
it is insufficient as it would not give a huge result or impact to reduce the temperature of the Earth.
The percentage of number of trees should be increased to 80% so that the developers will follow
the rules to plant more trees around the area to be accepted by the government.

The nonchalant behavior of human towards the nature became the main cause of the issue as it
all comes from the activities done by human without considering what will happen to the nature.
This has to be stopped otherwise it will be a dangerous catastrophe in the future which will
decrease the lifespan of living things on Earth.
