Enact stricter legislation to punish the road users in the United Kingdom who refuse
to follow the rules.

B E IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of
the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled,
and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Criminal offences at the wheel


(1) It is an offence to be in charge of a vehicle whilst under the influence of non-
prescribed narcotics or prescribed narcotics that may affect your concentration to
the extent of impairing your concentration whilst driving.
(2) It is an offence to drive in the middle lane or right-hand lane on a dual-carriageway
or motorway when it is possible to drive in the left-hand lane (only use second and
third lanes to overtake).
(3) It is an offence to
(a) smoke,
(b) apply makeup,
(c) use a mobile phone, or
(d) do anything else, that requires you to not have two hands on the wheel (with
the exception of driving tasks like changing gear and applying your
handbrake).
(4) It is an offence to drive at a pace that is too slow for the road that you are currently
using, in addition it is an offence to drive at a speed that is too fast. It is an offence

to remain at a junction when there is clearly a substantial gap that you could have
made use of in order to get away and enable traffic to move on in their journey.
(5) It is an offence to leave anything less than a
(a) two-seconds gap to the vehicle in front of you in dry weather,
(b) four seconds in rainy weather, and
(c) ten seconds in ice and snowy weather.
(6) It is an offence to drive without insurance, vehicle tax or a valid MOT for your
vehicle.
(7) It is an offence to drive your Nissan Micra as though you're driving a Ferrari
because you've just passed your test and want to let its juices flow, all 77mph of it.
(8) It is an offence not to indicate at roundabouts and junctions.
(9) It is an offence to stall in traffic if you've been driving for more than a year. You
should know better.

2 Punishment
(1) All offences above are punishable by a 12 month driving ban, 2 month prison
sentence, or a 10,000 to 40,000 fine.
(2) More than two offences in a year's period can be punishable by the above
punishments doubled.

3 Commencement, extent, and short title


(1) This Act may be known as the Bad Drivers Act 2017.
(2) This Act applies to the United Kingdom.
(3) This Act comes into force immediately after receiving Royal Assent.
