I. ENTRANCE OF THE ENTOURAGE

Danica: Naimbag nga rabii kadayo amin! Family members from both sides of the bride and the groom, and to all
friends and acquaintances who travelled miles always just to join us in this special evening.
Jun: Ako po si Archibald o mas kilala sa palayaw na Michael V. este Junjun Dalupang, pinsan ng bride.
D: Ako naman po si Danica Dalupang, nakababatang kapatid, este ate ng bride.
J: Obvious naman po na kami ang inyong magiging host para sa gabing ito, wedding reception nila Mark at Kristina.
Ate Nica, sa kasamaang-palad, hindi dahil maganda ang gown mo ngayon at talaga namang maganda ka, at, well,
gwapo na talaga ako; eh, tayo na ang bida ngayong gabi.
D: Sinabi mo pa, Jun. Ang gabing ito ay para kay Mark at Kristina.
J: Wag kang mag-alala ate, sa kasal mo, magvo-volunteer na akong mag-emcee, tapos kukuhanin kong partner

J: Eh ikaw na ang may ninong-ninang sa binyag, tapos meron pa din sa kasal.
D: Oo nga noh. Haha. Iba naman ang obligasyon ng mga wedding godparents, Jun. Sila ang mga tatayong marriage
advisors. Yung tipong, wise men and women of marriage kumbaga. Tapos, yung mga ninong-ninang sa binyag
naman, sila yung mga nagtatago tuwing pasko. Hahahaha
J: May point ka dyan.

III. INVOCATION
D: Para pormal na umpisahan ang wedding reception ni Mark at Kristina, nais po naming imbitahan dito sa harap si
Engr. Floro Bong Pagulayan para sa isang panalangin. Tayong pong lahat ay magsi-tayo.
Samalat Tito Bong, maaari na po tayong umupo.

IV. Groom and Mother and Bride and Father Dance

J: Gugutumin po muna namin kayo ng beri layt para isagawa ang ilang piling wedding traditions.
D: Sya nga pala, konting background lang sa mag-asawa, ang nickname po ni Mark ay Tonton, at si Kristina naman
ay Krizer. Kaya ngayong gabi, para mas maging personal ang program nila, tatawagin namin sila kung papano sila
sinusuway o pinangangaralan ng mga parents nila.
J: Haay naku, ngayon hindi naman na siguro, dahil sila na ang gumaganyan sa anak nila. ZERAN!
Bago pa mapunta kung saan toh, Umpisahan po natin ang mga traditions.
D: For the first part of our reception dinner tradition this evening, may we ask Krizer to walk towards the dance floor,
Ton, stay put for the meantime, on the other hand, our papa, Vic Dalupang, please join Krizer for the, of course,
father and daughter dance.

May we also ask Ton-ton and your mom, tita Julieta for their groom and mother dance.

J: Of course, this is the moment that makes every wedding a little bit melodramatic, but meaningful, Tito Vic, and
everyone, its inevitable now. Tito Vic, you may now endorse Krizer to her better-half, to the man who will be with her
till sickness and health. Tonton.
D: At this point everyone - GALA-GALA, as our ancestors call it - a few of our guests are to shell out generously and
unforcedly their monetary blessing to the bridegroom as means to fuel their finances as they commence in creating
a Christian home.
J: Well, thank you for that nosebleed approach, Ate Nica.

D: While the bills are being unpinned from the bridegroom, we will roll a simple VTR about the bridegroom.

VI. CUTTING OF THE CAKE
D: Moving on. Wed like to ask Ton-ton and Krizer towards the cake for the cutting and eating of the cake.
J: Alam moba Ate Nica na may deeper meaning ang tradition na yan?
D: Talaga ba?
J: Oo. Para pakiligin ang mga audience. Yun lang.
D: Eto naman. Akala ko kung meron talagang significant meaning yun.
J: Syempre biro lang. Dito po natin makikita kung sino sa kanila ang mas malakas kumain.
D: Hah!?
J: Ahy. Hehe seriously. The cutting and eating of the cake manifests good fortune and abundance for the couple. And
the gesture of spoon-feeding each other symbolizes their concerted effort to provide and feed their family and
children (Llewelyn Worldwide Ltd., 2013)

VII. Wine Toast

D: Syempre, pagkatapos kumain.
J: Inuman na?
D: Hahaha, medyo. Pero gagawin nating fitting sa occasion natin. We call this the wine toast.
(instruct the couple to pour the wine and twist-drink them)
J: May history din yan.
D: Oh, ano naman this time.
J: It can be dated back in Greece in the sixth Century BC. The drink would come from a common pitcher and poured
to all guests. The host will drink first to ensure that no poison is added to the drink. This was the time when enemies
of neighboring territories are invited to a banquet for a peaceful settlement.
Centuries later, the Romans put a different meaning to this practice. This tradition was done as a gesture of good
faith, and to wish good health to the guests attending the special occasion.

VIII. RELEASE OF DOVES

D: For the last part of our wedding reception tradition, the release of the doves.
J: Alam na natin na ihahagis ng mag-asawa ang mga kalapati at kukuha ng magandang anggulo si kuya
photographer para memorable ang dove release ngayong gabi. Pero may meaning talaga ang pagpapalipad sa mga
kalapati.
D: Oo nga no. Pano ba nagsimula ang dove release na tradition sa mga wedding reception, Jun?
J: Pop-Trivia lang para sa lahat. The release of White Doves has been a tradition since the 5th Egyptian Dynasty (four
and a half thousand years ago), and is considered as an expression of love and inspiration in many cultures.

Para sating mga Pilipino, and putting kalapati ay nagsisimbolo ng kapayapaan. Sa kasalan, ang pagpapalipad ng
kalapati ay nagsisimbolo ng isang mapayapang pagsasama hanggang wakas.
D: Hindi ka mahilig mag-research ano?
J: Naku, ano yung research?
D: Haay ewan. Ang dami mong alam sa kasalan, pero single ka naman.
