Advanced Two Dimensions and Advanced Three Dimensions

This course is a continuation of the basic fundamentals learned in Introduction to two and three dimensions. The
course is divided into a semester of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. The student can apply his/her
understanding of equipment and the fundamental theory to create more mature art forms.

Assignments:

1. Artists will be assigned original projects which will allow the artist to be creative and imaginative. The
artist will have more complex problems to solve, more personal choices, and more difficult techniques
than the introduction course.
2. Sketch books and a Google drive portfolio will also be requirements. The sketch book will be used for
drawings, taking notes, and a variety of other assignments. The Google drive portfolio will be used for
organizing handouts and other important information. The binder will be used to show personal growth
and areas for improvement throughout the year. Both items will help you clarify and visually develop your
ideas. You will be given assignments to put in your sketch book and binder on a weekly basis.
3. Art history and research projects will be assigned during the year.
4. At home projects will be assigned at the beginning of each nine weeks. They will be due one week prior to
the end of the nine weeks. A theme, idea, or topic will be given to help direct your creativity.
5. Independent projects or advanced work in monthly stations is mandatory when work is completed to the
best of the artists ability. You must follow independent project requirements and guidelines to receive
grades and participation points.
6. Critiques of the artists art work and classmates art work will take place during and after projects. Some
critiques will be held in groups, as writing assignments or as reflections.
7. All artists will be supply assistance one or more times throughout the school year. This will be an
assignment that will teach responsibility and leadership in the classroom.
8. Assessment forms will be filled out daily or weekly as needed. This form is to show personal growth and
areas of improvement form the artist. Each artist is expected to keep the form updated and complete
