7. Care shall be taken as not to weaken structural portion of the building.

VIII. ELECTRICAL WORKS


1. All works hereunder shall conform to the rules and regulations of the Philippine
Electrical Code, National Building Code, Local Power Company and of the
Municipal / City ordinances.
2. All electrical materials to be used shall be brand new and shall conform with the
Philippine standard.
a. All lighting fixtures including housing ballasts, lamp holder and fluorescent lamp
shall be G.E. (General Electric) or any approved type.
b. All wire shall be Phelp Dodge brand or any approved equivalent with minimum
size of 3.5 mm2 for branch circuit & 2.00 mm2 for switch legs.
c. All boxes pull boxes, utility boxes and junction boxes shall be PVC Atlanta
orange brand plastic type or any approved equivalent.
d. All switches and convenience outlets shall be of National brand or any
approved equivalent.
e. Panel boards / circuit breakers shall be of Westinghouse or any approved
equivalent. Main disconnecting switch with fuse double throw, Ever brand or
any approved equivalent.
f. All conduits shall be if PVC of high grade and quality such as Atlanta Emerald
brand.
3. All wiring running under floor, underground, thru concrete slab, CHB, partitions and
for main service entrance shall be in PVC conduit.
4. All conduits shall have necessary conduit fitting coupling and the like, to make it
mechanically strong. Conduit shall not be less than 15 normal diameter and where
so indicate size shown will be minimum.
5. All switches, convenience outlets, panel boards, disconnecting switch and others shall
be flush mounted when located in areas that are visible to the general public.
6. Air-conditioning until shall not exceed 3,000 W & of any approved type.
7. Service entrance shall be its corresponding value and size of wire and conduit
protection rating upon installation.
8. All electrical works shall be supervised by a registered professional Electrical
Engineer.

IX. PAINTING
A. PAINTS AND VARNISH MATERIALS

1. Use Dutch Boy or Boysen paints and Lacquer Varnish. No substitution of paint
materials shall be allowed unless expressly authorized by the owner.
B. CONCRETE AND MASONRY

1. All concrete and masonry surfaces to be printed shall first be thoroughly cleaned
of dirt, grease or strains before any paint is applied. Surfaces shall then be painted
with zinc sulphate and water, and then allowed to dye thoroughly.
2. All exterior and interior concrete and masonry surfaces shall be painted with
masonry paint in two coats. Each coat of paint shall be allowed to dry thoroughly
before the succeeding coat is applied.

C. WOOD WORK

1. All exposed woodwork shall first be well fastened with nails, sunk and putted, the
surfaces cleaned, dried and smoothly dressed and sand-papered before paint and
stain is applied. Interior and exterior wooden surfaces shall be painted with two
coats of glossy oil paint, except surfaces to be varnished.

D. METAL AND WROUGHT IRON

1. All wrought iron work, window grills, and other metal works shall first receive a
priming coat of red lead and oil. When this has thoroughly dried, they shall be
painted with two coats of enamel paint.

E. COLORS

1. Color schemes for the painting work shall be in accordance with color schemes
selected by the owner. The contractor shall submit samples before applying the
final coat of paint.

F. WORKMANSHIP

1. Paint shall be thoroughly brushed so as to form a film of even thickness. Paint


shall be thoroughly stirred so as to keep the pigment evenly in suspension while
paint is being applied.
