I am applying for the Medical Assistant (Clinical) position, I found online on the University of
Utah Health Care page. I am qualified for this position because I have completed the Medical
Assisting program at Granite Technical Instiute.

By allowing me to have this position, I will contribute my Medical Assisting skills that I have
gained through the program. I am willing to learn new things and apply them to the clinic. I
proved my skills by passing state exams that were on Clinical & Lab Procedures, Medical Office
Management, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy/ Physiology. I successfully completed the
program and earned the title of Utah Endorsed Medical Office Administrative Assistant. I am also
bilingual; I read and write in both English and Spanish.

As part of the Medical Assisting program, I gained experience in a pediatric clinic setting as part
of the externship required. At Wasatch Pediatrics, I took vital signs, updated patient history,
gave injections, scheduled patients, and recorded them on a computer program. In addition to
the program, I took courses that would help me gain experience in pediatrics: Early Childhood
Education One and Two, which allowed me to interact with children and parents. These courses
taught me how to respond to different situations.
